They should give everyone a free month of PSN+ for compensation IMO. It'll give normal PSN players a taste and may encourage them to extend their paid subscription when the trial is over.

You can only but it in months, but I'd assume Sony would somehow make it for only one week

Kinda like how Xbox has those free XBL weekends and they can only go up in increments of months

It would be pointless to have PSN+ for a month. Doesn't the stuff you get get locked again once you unsubscribe?

In any case, I don't think is is as bad as (yet) the Xbox fiasco when live went down for a while sometime ago.

Good point. How about making an arcade game free for a month? (That's what they did when XBL went down back in '07)

Is PSN still down? That fails, I was planning on playing Portal 2 co-op or Uncharted 2 MP. I guess I can try to find someone to play co-op with on the PC version.

Yeah it's been down for a bit. I've been platinuming Shattered Dimensions/playing offline on MK so meh.

Do you guys know if the God of War I/II games have trophies on the ps3? I doubt they do, but just wondered.

well I'm a hardcore perfectionist. I love beating them 100% and then being done with it. (Some exceptions: When Pokemon is done I'll still play online some, but it's beaten to me. Mortal Kombat will be the same)

:D I hate the fact SSFIV is at 19%. It kills me. MvC3 is 64%, and Sonic1 is 90%. That's fairly acceptable imo.

Hey, they just like to shake things up over there. Maybe it'll start a giant wave of psn working across the globe.
Werekill, I know you were just making a joke, but some family friends of mine and a friend I know from the city both know people in the areas of Japan that got affected, so I have to say that was kind of in bad taste. Yeah, I get you didn't mean anything by it, but it probably wasn't the best time.

That's awful yet hilarious. In other news, Sony still has no timeframe on when PSN will be back up. Could be weeks for all we know.

Rumor: 'Rebug' custom firmware enabled 'free' PSN downloads, forced Sony's network shutdown

Source: http://www.joystiq.com/2011/04/25/rumor-rebug-custom-firmware-enabled-free-psn-downloads-for/

According to PSX-Scene former moderator, "chesh," the now six-day-long PlayStation Network outage is the result of a particularly exploitative custom firmware (CFW) modification for PS3. In a post on Reddit, chesh claims that a CFW known as "Codename: Rebug" had given its users the ability to log into PSN as if they were doing so from a developer console (or "debug unit").

As a result, chesh contends, this same exploit allowed its users to add funds from "dummy" credit card accounts into their PSN wallets, ostensibly giving them the ability to "unlock" (read: steal) certain PlayStation Store content.

I also love the achievement system.I try to 100% everything but I have a lot of stuff to get around to.

Platinum trophy today on Shattered Dimensions, and fail we should be psn friends. Actually any of you :D. I'm RyuShimazu (when it works)

As for Spiderman SD:

I have a review on youtube, but it's a good game. Here are some of my thoughts:

-Mysterio was hard on hard mode lol, but was a weak story boss considering the ones you fight before him. (Read the comics)
-You fight some great villians such as Scorpion, Sandman, and -Carnage-
-My biggest gripe was Mysterio being a bigger threat than Carnage. WTF? Don't they realize...

-Gameplay was hit and miss. Minor buttonmashidus.
-Graphics were very awesome :3

8/10, I love Spiderman!

Also I didn't know this but Amazing/Ultimate Spiderman are so freaking different.

In Amazing, he gets Venom from the Beyonder series, which eventually breeds and makes Carnage. In Ultimate Peter's DAD makes a black symboite suit that turns into Venom when Dr. Connors enhances it with peter's blood. Also, the same thing creates Carnage. Weiiirrrddddd.

UPDATE: Sony confirms that their account servers were hacked. Account handles, passwords, names, addresses, stored credit card numbers may have been compromised. The PlayStation Network is expected to be operational within a week.

That's pretty horrible. Good thing my PSN has no credit card info on it. Still, I don't really blame Sony, I blame whoever hacked it. Probably that anonymous group.

Next time when PSN comes back and I can sign on on my day off. (When I get one XD.) I will check my account to see if I lost funds or anything I bought. I might delete my info due to the incident to play it safe.

Add me while you're on, if you get the chance.

I only had $2.87 in my PSN wallet, so I'm not overly concerned about it.
