You're better off going with a Slim and a PS2, honestly.

I have a backwards compatible PS3, and for the most part, it works fine, but it will come across the occasional glitch trying to run a PS2 game. Plus, a Slim won't overheat as much as a Phat, it takes up waaay less space, and you're far less likely to get a YLOD.

^ This plus you can get 320GB for like 350~

I bought a PS3 'cause I needed a new DVD player, plus it has Dragon Age, as well as the soon to be released in North America Tales of Graces F <3 Oh, and it doesn't get the red ring of death like 360.

I'll need to buy a Wii for when Skyward Sword comes out though

Spiderman SD is okay.
infamous is amazing.
Dragon Age is amazing.

That's all I can reccomend atm. I'm not good at traditional fighters.

Yeah, well it's all rumors and speculation at this point, but the sources are pretty reliable. With the length Skyward Sword is taking, and if Wii 2 is expected to be due out late 2012, then it's not hard to imagine Skyward Sword having a duel release.

PlayStation Network is under maintenance in both the United States and European Union. Not sure how long it's going to be, though.

UPDATE: The PlayStation Network may not be operational for another one to two days, according to Sony. It may have been brought down by a third party, but Anonymous is supposedly not involved.

If a hacker group is involved, I honestly don't see this as the right way to attack. In a sense, you're also attacking innocent gamers who could care less about what side of the jail breaking issue they are on.

Yeah, I hear ya. I was going to get some vs player stuff for an upcoming BBCS tourney I'm going to, but guess not now. That, and it's always nice to play some Uncharted 2. Unlike that weird "I shoot you 30 times in the head/chest and you live while you shoot me once in the leg with a pistol and I die" Killzone 2 stuff that seems to happen.

I can easily recommend Blazblue. It's easily my favorite fighting game, and it has a great plot too (which might explain why I love the game, lol).

Arcana Heart 3 looks interesting, but I haven't played it yet.

Anyway, I enjoy my psp, especially considering the fact that I got it for really cheap and the games are cheap too.

PSP Go has no UMD support. All games are to be downloaded.. but not all PSP titles are up for download.

UPDATE: Apparently, Anonymous is planning to attack Sony when the PlayStation Network is back online, but they won't target the PlayStation Network itself. I can't speak to how reliable this source is, seeing as it's obscure, so take it with a grain of salt.

For any Chrono Trigger fans out there, a rumour is going around that it might be coming out on PSN. Hopefully that means Chrono Cross as well (please...)

Sony and publisher Square Enix have yet to announce the title's release, but a recent ESRB rating makes a PSN release more than likely. The organization has given random ratings to games in the past but it doesn't exactly rate random, old games. What isn't clear at the moment is which version of Chrono Trigger PS3 and PSP owners will be able to download and play later this year.

The original 1994 SNES release goes for as high as $3,999 on eBay, but the non-filthy-rich consumer can play the game on the original Playstation as part of Final Fantasy Chronicles. The 2001 compilation, which came packaged with Final Fantasy IV, added gorgeous animated scenes (yay) and long load times (no!) Another alternative, and perhaps the best one, is the Nintendo DS port from 2008, where players can find new dungeons and a helpful map screen added by developer Square Enix. Japanese mobile phones and Wii's Virtual Console will also receive ports next month.

The Virtual Console version will be a straight port of the SNES original, and it's safe to assume that PSN's offering will be taken from Final Fantasy Chronicles. ESRB's recent rating (T) also lines up with this theory, so don't be upset when you don't see a new improved Chrono Trigger in the PsOne Classics section of the PSN store.

As for the mobile phone version? That's anyone's guess, at the moment.
