I'm just thinking that maybe if we had to spend less time trying to figure out how we're going to handle to Brinstar/Rainbow CP (and resist going MK, the easy option) and instead focused on bringing our characters to max potential on a non timeout/autowin stage, USA would've been in finals.

well no I'd quit because the MK-Lucario matchup is so tedious and uphill. and I've played it so much I really don't enjoy it at all anymore. The shrinking stage list would just be icing on the cake.

This is proof that you don't know **** about D3. All of his air attacks are good. He has a good edge guarding game with things like bair, rco lag punishing, fair, having 4 jumps, etc. He has good range. He has amazing survivability (And the best vertical survivability). Best spot dodge. Slope infinites. Alright planking game (Mainly good on ). Good followups and infinites on some characters. Air release stuff on and along with some ground release stuff on and .

There's probably more I can mention, but, this is a lot of good/decent/great stuff that he can do.

This is like saying is bad because he only has one good thing which is chaingrab, when he has other things like desynching, blizzard, and getting out of infinites, combos, and chaingrabs.

D3 has ALRIGHT moves. His jab is garbage, his aerials and grab is good, 3 of his throws are good, his tilts are good, his smashes are horrid, his B moves are mediocre at best.

His edge guard game is pretty good. His ground game is decent. His throw game is top notch (its like half his metagame), his air game actually isn't that good his weird weight and jump heights and long lasting hitboxes don't allow for safe aerial pokes. His spotdodge is ARGUABLY the best (have you seen Falcos?). His recovery is ok, his survivability is insane, but most importantly his body frame is freaking terrible which matters alot. That's a fair assessment of D3.

outside of him and DEHF I dunno what falcos attended... I thought shugo made bracket.

same thing with wario really. there were plenty of top warios that didn't attend like malcom(I think) or gluttony. it makes marth look bad because he had all of his top players there :/

I think this is a better assessment of Dedede.

People are going to underrate Marth now. Honestly I think olimars the only one that needs to rise and wario fall, I just see everyone in top tier as being almost indistinguishably close. The order almost doesnt matter.

BTW Rich did work on metaknight. He eliminated Holy, Tyrant, Zero, and M2K. Z also did some good work against Pwii and Zex.

Marth doesn't suck, I've never said that and I don't think anyone else says he sucks either.

But he is in NO WAY top 5. After all his gimmicks fail all he has is ol' faithful in semi-safe aerials that are easily ps'd and punished by some of the game's best characters. See the MM between nietono and mr. r for a perfectly executed example as to why marth is only above average at best.

He looks so cool and flashy when he wins so it's easy to see why people think he's so good, but the fact remains that he has to commit to kills, his moves aren't really that safe, his recovery isn't really that good, he almost always has to approach, and he just doesn't have that many solid options vs top characters.

This has been demonstrated over, and over again. And it will continue to be demonstrated, but Marth will always be top tier in America.

Yo, hold the phone. Dark.pch is legitimately really talented at Brawl but his character choice isn't helping him, and his emotions get the best of him during gameplay. I said once before to tons of various forum mockery that Ulysses has one of the best Peaches in the country and even though he doesn't place as well as the other ones usually, I still think so.

I used to play the guy for hours at a time, and some of the stuff he does actually blows my mind. Also, a little off-topic, but a good guy too.

I mean I'm definitely surprised to see him pick up and swag all over k prime, but I know he is CAPABLE of doing that and more, it's just a question of whether or not he can keep it together during the match.

Snake will probably want something to cover that Pikachu Dthrow MU, but then again maybe it can be avoided easier dunno. Razer has lots of Pika experience.

It's kinda bad but not comparable to Pikachu vs Falco or MK / DDD vs Marth imo. Also, I have Pikachu on the bottom of "solo viable for a reason"

ZSS doesn't have any unwinnable match-ups she's just cursed with having a lot of "just barely lose" kind of MUs across top tier, which makes her an overall unsafe pick even compared to someone like Fox.

It's like, you have a pretty high chance of hitting a -1, which gives you a statistically significant chance to get knocked out, I guess.

It helps that her MK match-up is relatively strong and that she outright counters ICs though.

She's more or less like melee Peach, who I have heard has "slight" losses to most top level characters but stomps low tiers who don't really have tools to deal with her move set. It's a little like that, but probably worse.

I still think my placing of hers is about accurate. I can't tell whom she's better than and worse than among the characters I grouped them in but overall it's a "borderline between high and mid-tier" status that all characters in this group represent.

I dunno, Gheb. I have to agree with SFP. I think ZSS is solid high tier. There's absolutely nothing that convinces me that she's mid tier. Using her as a kind of parallel to Melee Peach seems very appropriate.

Think NR will vanish from the boards after losing to Salem? I hope it (a got recorded, because I heard it was an amazing set and (b had the money that they were betting on the line as well.
