I'm jealous of people who have the Zelda 3DS, but being in the ambassador program is awesome.

A redesign is probably a year away at least. They would totally be breaking protocol if they announced one so soon. Furthermore, they have invested a lot in keeping the early adopters happy. I don't think they would want to invalidate those efforts.


In any case, I'm not too worried about a redesign because I can just trade in my current model for an inexpensive upgrade when the time comes.

Even if they make a redesign I'll still be keeping my zelda 3ds. It'll just be a really fancy piece of history.

& about upcoming games, I'm most excited for kingdom hearts, paper mario, and luigi's mansion.
Too bad none of them have specified release dates yet.

Tomorrow? Wow. That's conveniently punctual. I guess I'll hear what they have to say and decide from there. My only worry is I'll be left high and dry because the redesign seems unavoidably immanent - the only question is how long.

An updated model is always around the corner for lots of things today. If you really want a 3ds go for it, if you want one but aren't really hurting for one right now put it off until the new model.

Also, if you wanna save some bucks, check Ebay or Craig's list. I recall seeing a 3DS in my area...a Blue 3DS + OoT for 130. If it's old enough, you might be in luck for the Ambassador games?

^^Good call! Just checked craigslist and there's a listing for an ambassador qualified 3DS w/ OoT, Mario 3D and Star Fox 64. I might pull the trigger. I really want to play some handheld games again!

True. Even if you "value" each game at about 20 bucks, you're still saving around 20 bucks. With that being said, be wary that the guy might end up selling it sooner than later.

This. I'm gonna get a 3DS now. Or more like a couple of days from now.

Why? Because I have had the original DS (you know, that fat brick of a portable gaming console?) ever since I got in 2006 as a gift. I would see a DS Lite commercial one week later. XD

Anyways, I really never felt like upgrading my DS since it worked so well. I had some good memories with that thing, but I now think it is time for the upgrade People are saying hold off until the new 3DS, and I say screw that. I had the original GBA, the original DS, and I NEVER felt the need to upgrade them because I was happy playing with them, and I take care of my stuff to make it last.

The dual stick attachment is only $20, and it doesn't look too bad at all. So long as I have fun with the console, I will be very content and not be getting any upgrades for it until it dies on me or something.

I got a 3DS for Christmas, along with Mario Kart 7, and loving it. I haven't had this much fun with a Mario Kart since the DS version (wasn't a fan of the Wii one.) The way you unlock different parts is fun, but challenging.

Mario Kart 7 will keep you occupied long enough for Kid Icarus, especially if you are into online matches.

Which was why I got MK7: to keep me busy until Kid Icarus came out, for that is the game I really want.

it is way way way easy. and super slow. I know it's 50cc and all but DAMN. I was watching my nephew play Skyward Sword while doing GP mode and I won every race barely paying attention to the screen.
