Don't worry 150cc is a much better challenge, you shouldn't be able to 3 star everything in your first try.

My 6 year old sister won a gold trophy in 50cc mushroom cup and she's BAD. Lol

The only thing I didn't 3-star my first try was mirror mode leaf cup. It's the worst cup of the game, I swear.

Yeah I've noticed MK7 is a lot less punishing, but I kinda like it that way. The new Rainbow Road is amazing too ^_^

so idk if this has been brought up but

Zenonia Series is a really good RPG. I'm not playing it on my 3DS though because its 7 dollars instead of 99 cents like it is on my Ipod but if you don't have an Ipod touch/iphone/ipad I would definitely check out Zenonia.

For all those who have mk7, in the Mario boards we are having a tourney this Sunday :)
It's nothin uber competitive because the game is still pretty new but it's gonna be fun.
We are a pretty cool community so check it out :D

Good heads up. I'll take a look at it. I'm still new to Mario Kart 7 and I'm trying to collect coins to get all the new Karts, wheels, and gliders.

Does anyone know if Xevious is a good game?

3D classic and all and I get what the game is but has anyone played the original or this one?

Also how the hell do you guys do 150cc 3stars the first time? I get screwed over really bad sometimes. I think I had to do Leaf cup like 5 times to get it without being comboed into blue shell-red shell-green shell-banana heaven.

In this day and age, I would not recommend Xevious.

It's just, I don't know. I didn't like it. it's a top view shmup, scrolling vertically. I haven't gotten through the game, not because I found it hard, but I found it hard to stay interested. lol

Up to you - look at some gameplay vids on Youtube. You can probably tell whether you'll like it or not based on the video, itself.

The increased price is well worth the actual good controls imo. I have zenonia 1-3 on my ipod and I rarely play them just because touch screen controls are so meh. No matter how good they get they will never be as good as physical dpad/buttons.

I was honestly thinking of buying Super Mario 3D the same day I picked up Mario Kart 7. It has definitely been a very long time since I picked up an Mario game and played it. I think my last Mario was Mario 64...

Despite 50cc being slow, I've enjoyed mk7 a lot right. I just need like 4000 coins...man that's rough since online doesn't give coins

3 star all of 50cc, never touch it again. And online races do give you coins. It simply doesn't unlock anything until after you start up the game again.

What's everyone using as far as characters/karts go? I was doing great with Bowser in the bee car and the tiny roller wheels but in 150cc I'm not doing as well. I generally prefer heavier karts/characters because I really really hate getting knocked around by other drivers.

I've been sticking to Donkey Kong with as much acceleration and top speed as possible (haven't unlocked most of the parts yet). Handling isn't too much of an issue when I can slow down and just speed right back up.

It's funny that the only people I come across that always pick that bored are the ones that would otherwise come in last.

I use shy guy in the barrel train with wood wheels.

Handling is not too important when you start to get better at the game. I usually focus on Accel, and Speed.

I run:
1. Shy Guy/Cloud 9/Slim/Swooper
2. Shy Guy/Bumble V/Standard/Swooper
3. Shy Guy/Zucchini/Slim/Swooper
4. Shy Guy/Bruiser/Standard/Swooper

As you can see, I'm still experimenting a bit, but those were some of my favorites so far that gave me the best results. Try focusing on Speed and Acceleration if you want an easier time. But make sure handling never goes below 1. Otherwise it gets too difficult to control.

Oh god Maka Wuhu glitch.

One of my favourite new courses ruined.
If you think that is bad, look at all of the glitch shortcuts in Mario Kart 64 and try to imagine THAT with wifi.

Frappe Snowland and Wario Stadium can be done in less than 20 seconds TOTAL. Toad's Turnpike sometimes spawns you halfway through the track if you aim your jump at the overpass correctly. Choco Mountain allows you to scale a wall to avoid the loop. Mario Raceway allows you to fly through walls. Luigi Raceway's times can be cut in half by ricocheting off a wall with a mushroom or even by being hit by red/blue shells. Kalimari Desert's star shortcut has an exploit that allows for very short lap times. Koopa Troopa Beach's shortcuts are easier to use than the actual course. Royal Raceway, like with Maka Wuhu, can drop you about 30 seconds ahead if you hit the water correctly . . . right next to an opportunity for a SECOND Maka Wuhu-esuqe shortcut. DK's Jungle Parkway would be less of a race and more of a contest to fall through the cave wall. Yoshi Valley would just have people with mushrooms leaping over the fence near the start line and drivers at Banshee Boardwalk would ignore the arrows and jump over the hole. Rainbow Road choosers would always use a shortcut that cuts away a full minute of racing.

Pretty much the only tracks that have no worthwile exploits are Moo Moo Farm and Sherbert Land.

One thing I hate about Maka Wuhu is that even good players exploit it. I don't mind bad players using it, since I can beat them anyways, but when good players use it, then it gets annoying, since I know that they can beat me no problem, but result in using it just to crush everyone. Jerk move, right there.

What ticks me off even more is that Nintendo doesn't want to fix this exploit, since it is "unfair" to those who have mastered this strat.

Is there actually a point in getting a triple star?
Not really. It doesn't unlock you anything. Only thing you should shoot for is at least 1 star in every cup of every CC and Mirror. You unlock the Gold Wheels that way.

Yeah, there's also the bugs in Super Circuit.

Thankfully they're all in person, no wifi, so you can just punch the person doing it.

Also I felt ****** because Maka Wuhu got picked one time, everyone but me used the glitch and I still placed first.

**** yeah chain of bullet bills.

Sometimes I love the randomness in the game.

yesterday smashboards held a mk7 tourney and this random guy joined in our community via the "recent players" options.
He picked Maku wuhu everytime and did the glitch everytime(picking one coarse twice and the Maku wuhu glitch was against the rules lol)
Nintendo needs to fix things

It abuses the zones where Lakitu drops you after falling off the course. By using a Mushroom at the beginning of the second section at a specific point, you basically get a roughly 30 second jump on everyone by skipping almost all the way to the finish line.

At least I think it requires a mushroom.

YouTube has a good video of it as well. It made me curious when I was checking the boards on GameFaqs and noticed many topics being about some glitch on Maka Wuhu. It definitely cuts the fun and sadly online 80% of the time that stage is picked. Out of all the times I've been forced to play it through random picks I had 2 games where nobody did the glitch. I also hope they patch that. There is one good side; With the CPU I'll admit I always do it and it helped with maintaining my coins and helping my score so that I could 3 Star 150cc.

The fact people feel they need to win so badly they take advantage of those things is sad and dishonorable.

I'll be sad if an exploit like that is found on one of the rainbow roads :/

MK7's rainbow road is such an amazing track.
