Jaice and Ad3pt: Really close money match , was a lot of fun, good job coming 2nd Jaice.

Splice: Your G&W is great, had a lot of fun playing you in various friendlies, first game of our DK MM was pretty good as well

Scoot: Friendlies at Grim's were fun, your Falco's really good.

Tedeth: Pools matches were really close, and a lot of fun, I can see how Wario has a lot of trouble in the MK match-up.

Corpsecreate: Toon link is so gaaaay (not as gay as MK on Brinstar though lol), I don't mind though. In the first game I looked at the timer and basically freaked out when I saw the timer had like 2 minutes left >.> Second game was really close though I was really surprised when I died.

ZXV: You pretty much destroyed my Diddy in our set >.>, I blame my tech skill failing randomly :/, anyway your MK is amazing.

Attila: Great job on winning Brawl singles, not really an upset at all but you deserved it.

Tibs: From watching your Diddy I can tell I still have a lot to learn about the character, and from the matches I saw you played really well.

Apollo: Bad luck with your placing :/ Not sure how you lost against S.D. though. Should motivate you to get better for the next major

Nova: Whatever slip-ups happened at the tourney it really wouldn't have been anywhere near as good as it was without you, so good job Also don't let people convince you to change the bracket

Grim: Our doubles team went ok I think, we seem to do a lot better when we have the momentum though.

Other SA people: Good to see you all there, good job everyone who made it through pools.

Melee guys: You're all amazing at this game and show me just how bad I am at it lol.

Tibs: lolimar is the most annoying character in brawl, lol @ ur reaction when i said diddy is like the 2nd most.

Corpse: I fared well against u TL in the first stock's of our matches, but as usual i just turned to **** afterwards, i blame my brother. IIRC u can remember 17 places of pi lol interesting talk about tv's and ****.

Gords: Hope u had a decent stay in adelaide, even though u weren't exactly at my house for that long in total, i was happy to give housing to u. Feel kinda bad for making u walk to my house, shame i don't my p's yet. Really fun brawl minus matches though.

Splice: I now know to never pick Battlefield vs game and watch, lol damn key hitting underneath platforms.

ZXV: If i continued playing brawl for these past 2 years I'm sure i could've given u much better matches. Hell if i continued playing i prolly woulda placed in the top 5 lewl (if i didn't have to place jaice coz i hate lolimar) Grats on ur melee win.

Ted: lol when u said 'why can't u live in sydney and my brother live in adelaide' or something along those lines, as usual ur a funny/cool guy, maybe i should play terraria.

Monkeybear: grats on 4th or whatever u came lol, u placed the best for s.a. even though ur not really from s.a. we claim u as our own.

It's not like i really played many ppl outside of tourny matches and brawl minus but that's coz i don't care about smash as u all should know.

It really is a massive shame you can't come live in QLD lol. Thanks so much for your help over the weekend too. Jaice and I probably would have walked in more circles had you not helped us out. Keep that scene alive and keep those MK's working
Nova: Thanks for an awesome tournament. Was really good to travel oos and be up against so many amazing brawl players. You made that happen, and deserve a tremendous amount of respect for putting on the show you did. Cheers again, and next time enter the damn tournament .
Attila: Good work on first, you deserved the title. So consistently good against everyone and really enjoyed watching your matches and learning off you. I have a new found respect for you as a smasher, and was happy I could go toe to toe with you in pools.
Cal: QLD reppin to the tune of an MK players tears lol. In all honesty you did awesome, and I really wish we didn't meet in the bracket because I think you could have gone further had you not. No longer the bad state . Good times and good bloke.
Earl: You have such a good mind for brawl, one of the most impressive strategists to watch play. Your changes in moment are something I don't often see in the game, and you do it so well. Thanks for the matches and for coming up to me and letting me know you were impressed by some of my play too
Splice: Really good to finally meet the face behind the name. The brawl chats we had were really good, and you know so much about how the game works, I definitely learned a lot. You will get Jaice next time, to close for comfort between you two. I will take on your advice and start improving hopefully in time for the next major.
Scoot: Cheers for the comments on my gameplay etc. Always good to hear praise for doing things well. Thoroughly enjoyed chatting and laughing about anything and everything. Good bloke.
Tibs: Really wished I could have played you more than once at this tournament. Felt like I learned so much from just that one match though. Your Diddy is almost seamless to watch. Cudos on third.
Shaya: Pointers on the Marth MU really helped. I don't know why I struggle with Marth, maybe just a mental thing now too. Glad I could take you to a 3rd match atleast .
Tedxv: I'm going to do you 2 together because you're both awesome gentlemen. Thanks for schooling me on how to circle camp for 8 mins Ted . Losing by 10%ish in that first match was so saddening. That CG was ridiculous, but now that I know it exists, it won't happen again (I hope). Cheers for the comments & appraisal for Jaice too zxv. Awesome work in melee lad.
Leish: What a bundle of fun you are . Really enjoyed our chats and I'm pretty sad I didn't get to play you at all! Also pretty jealous of your rob attire, especially seeing as I left my Luigi hat and plushie at home by accident .
Dekar: I know we are rubbish at brawl, so I'm not even going to try and praise you on how good you are. You already know all this. You're pretty scrub at melee though. Heard you lost to zxv...... who does that? You're a champ in all seriousness though, from the QLD cousins trolling everyone.
Domo: Your MK is really good, just try not to fall into to many patterns. You have amazing potential to do really well in brawl. Thanks for the friendlies.
Corpse: Jaice and I said hi to you at the beginning of the tournament, and you pretty much shrugged us off to our disappointment. Glad you came around by the end of the tourney and had a chat. Was really good talking with you and nice work in the brackets.
Jamage & Scrubs: Our bball team had the goods. was great playing in the ball comp with you guys. Sorry for being a shortass.
QLD melee reps: Good **** in melee gents, well played. Pretty annoying to come up against each other in bracket but you all placed well anyway so it's all good. S.D has brawl skills....what?
Ghost: Didn't get to play your MK outside of our mm, but I could see you had the skills from our match. Good work getting 13th at such a big tourney with so many big names.
Grim:Sorry for showing you so brutally why MK ***** Jiggs. Awesome doubles mm. Really sorry about taking that money off you .
W150: You were one of my favourite people at this tourney, and I got a really good chance to sit down with you and play. You learned the way I played with every character I chose so quickly, and made me have to take each match more and more seriously to beat you in our friendlies. Your Falco is very impressive, and I would suggest focusing on him more as you changed your play up so well with him.
Jaice: Well what can I say.... other than 'gentleman'!. Seriously though, I knew you had the goods, and I'm pretty damn proud of what you did at this tournament. People will say all sorts of things in the next few days about not knowing the MU and never having played Olimar, however remember that you also haven't played all of their amazing characters either. You're a champion, and deserve all of the respect this tournament brings you. Sadly though, Vanessa was the only one out of us to win a smash tourney in Adelaide .
Ad3pt: Get better and beat Jaice.

Thanks to anyone I might've missed. I had a blast at this tourney and everyone was awesome so I don't have a bad word to say really. Except to Hotdog, because I remember him saying Jaice would get beasted. Oh well lol.

Olimar MU is so simple - it can be learnt in one or two games even if you don't know it, just need to put your analysis hat on.

I find it weird to think how, say I beat Jaice (like a good GaW who knows the MU should, still salty ), he probs would have lost to Ted because wolf vs Olimar is one of the dumbest MUs in the game. And then people would have thought he is bad and probably been mean or said "i told you so" or something. And then people would have laughed at Olimar and had no johns.

The truth is though,
Jaice is just really smart (I could even see it reflect in his Yoshis Tetris Attack play too. I must MM him in that some time)
and Tibs is an idiot

Reloaded was amazing! I learned a lot and had a lot of great games with some great players. Congratulations to the top 3 in each game. Lots of money was on the line and you guys deserved it! Everyone should go to BAM so i can play you all again I had a lot of fun :D

I described that TV to my bro and he said that it must have been a rear projection TV (which explains why there was no flickering with deflicker off) which look like a CRT and are known to have input lag.

There was one tv that was horrible, but I fixed it and it was fine after that. The rest were fine. When I can CG Marth on lagging tvs, you know it isn't an issue and people are just johning about bs.

I heard it was a 5th of a frame out apparently lololol. Nothing like Grim's item match brawl tv at his house. That thing was running on steam.

Input lag is caused by the time that it takes the tv to process and display the image that it is being received. So the lag can be any length of time, it doesnt have to be 'some number of frames'.

but a move can't come out on like half a frame, so by your logic it would come out on the next possible frame, making the lag a bit worse than what it technically should. So the fact nobody but like you reckoned it lag just seems wrong.

From my understanding of input lag, it is possible for something to lag within less time than a number of frames too

Corpse isnt saying it lagged on the basis he felt it, he's going off information about the type of set up, which is legit. Doesnt mean the lag was noticeable, it's a non-issue

I did feel the lag, im very sensitive to it. It was very minor but it was definetly there. I checked up the display now when I got home and I have confirmed that those type of tvs have input lag so I wasnt just imagining things.

Swordsaint, the game runs at 60 fps regardless of the tv you are using. The TV is only displaying those frames, how long it takes to display those frames is the "input lag". It isnt actually "input lag" since your input is actually being sent near instantly, the lag comes from the time it takes to DISPLAY your input.

So to answer your confusion, the move will still come out on whatever frame it is supposed to, you just wont SEE IT come out until half a frame (if thats the lag) has passed after putting in your input.
