solo queue has very little luck involved. there's a reason why wildturtle and xj9 are able to get account after account into challenger/diamond 1
but a lot of the "skills" necessary to get high elo in solo queue aren't actually good from a competitive perspective (such as hyper-aggressiveness, cheese tactics that rely on disorganization, and playing the hardest pubstomper you can)
okay yeah this is 100% true, pushing someone in as much as possible is really really effective in solo
if ur the world's best, like...lissandra, sure maybe u can get into diamond, but u would be a LOT better in 5s
solo q also takes perseverance & serious leadership/management skills, if you're not trying to get there in >400 games you have to take charge a large majority of the time
also gotta be pretty ballsy bc to make plays you kinda have to do stupid **** and hope the team will follow your lead, sometimes you just have to do that 1v5 initiation when you're ahead and pray your team knows what they're doing
cant count how many times i've gone the "wrong way" in the jungle (aka the path we SHOULD be taking), forcing the team to follow me into a 3-for-5 ace
sometimes ya gotta yank the chain
EDIT - yeah i know this **** has been said 1000000x before but solo q is really interesting to me, this collection of 10 neurotic elements bisected into two teams and whoever cracks first usually loses, it's neat
