Whats the best method to use for Dacus? I used to use set R to attack and DDP Dacus and all that good stuff but I cant stand not being able to use R for shield. Whats the next best method?

I don't know if setting Z to attack instead of grab would really make a difference, since I can't test it right now, but that's what I'm thinking of. If you don't mind setting L to attack, it could be just as easy with proper adjustments. That's about as much as I've got.

I mean like, someone will ask how to DACUS, SOmeone will answer how to DACUS, and within the next 2 posts someone else will ask how to DACUS. Like I'm not the one answering but seeing same exact question over and over again is annoying to me.

If it's not annoying anyone else then I guess its fine.

What is ISSDI? I've seen people use the term a couple of times but and tried searching for it, but I couldn't find a good explanation.

ISSDI stands for In shield SDI, or in shield smash directional influence.

Also for DACUS you can set almost an button you don't use your right thumb for to attack to make it easier. L, R, Z any of them is fine. Or you can claw an use ur index finger to hit the A button.

C stick smash is IMO the best option for Cstick since it registeres like 2 inputs per hit which makes SDI and other things much easier.

Sheik dair is easily her worst move. There are only a handful of situations ever that you should use it for. At low percents its unsafe on hit and it will get you killed on block. use FF fair, bair or nair instead of this.

Sheik's only lackluster moves are dair, fsmash, and down+B (solely due to Wii load times)

seeing as thats probably sheiks top AT, and this is a Q&A thread........................
idk, I think Sheik benefits a lot from true-pivots, considering her high dash speed, short dash distance, and her entire move-set having quick start-up.
IBPG is also amazing... I see almost every euro/japanese sheik use it, but no americans =/

I feel like a lot of sheik's moves are unsafe on hit at low percents, haha. I've learned to just throw needles and sneak in dash attacks until I can do something effective, lol.

IBPG? instant buffered pivot grab?

:phone:
Instant boost pivot grab. I have to take back my original statement though, they probably just ipg since an ibpg would only be possible with the 'crazy' control set-up I use... or if you had 6 hands like korean sc players, lol.

I IPG a decent amount. I could IBPG but i feel likes sheiks boost pivot grab has almost negligable (butchered that word) range for it to matter (or her boost grab anyway) not to mention I don't think the grab box is actually significantly bigger on it.

How many frames does Sheik have to input a pivot upsmash?

I accidentally did one the other day, and I was wondering if it had any use at all.

I'm sure on the frames but I personally don't believe it has any use considering that the hitbox is about the same on both sides and the sweetspot is the same regardless of direction faced.

It's really useful for Falco though imo, since if you chase after dthrow, you can either hit with the sweetspot (unless they attack you partway, hence why BDACUS is more useful), or you can hit with the back and send them on a low angle.

hey sheik boards, I was just wondering what are the inputs for pivot (wavebounce) needles?
The way I input them is pressing B (or the button that activates special attacks), then almost instantaneously mashing in the opposite direction of where I'm facing on the control stick. I like to do it mainly out of running.

The way I look at it, it's pretty tight on frames. When I input the command, Sheik starts charging (or releases) in the opposite direction with a slight "pop" in that direction. I seldom mess it up, but when I do, I get a roll (if Needles aren't charged), which I assume is because I hit B too early or too late. I look at the mash in the same fashion I Smash attack.

Multihits suck

Also, I had a question. Let's say you've got an air release on someone, but you know they're going to go offstage, and therefore can't DACUS them, and let's say half the air release distance is offstage. Can you do a really far vanish glide for a kill? I would think not, but it's a fun idea imo, especially since if they AD, vanish often lasts long enough to blow up a dodge (at least from my experience).

It could work because the start up on vanish is long enough to outlast the AD. However because this is true its obv. not guarnteed. Also due to ur opponent falling below you I would think they would have to be really tall and or fat to get hit after an AD. Idk tho try for urself.

Luckily, Judo has found that you can bair and fair out of grab release too, so it's not completely hopeless (plus I'm sure that the DI used to DI usmash is also the same kind that will kill you really early from fair/bair, hehe). I wouldn't worry about it yet since almost nobody knows the Sheik MU hehe, there are people that still accidentally air release without realizing that their character can ground release to avoid the DACUS.

Didn't -Cross- (TX) find the Bair out of GR when he was still around here? Also, I've asked but never really found out, how tight is the window for GR Bair and GR Fair?

yea it wasn't me haha tho if people wanna give me credit................... lol jk

I did however verify that it can be done and honestly I don't think the window is really that tight. Then again I have pretty good timing. GR fair IMO is a whole lot easier than GR DACUS. Bair is actually not that bad either. The real challenge is knowing when to execute the RAR.
