Yes perth is Legit and good but most of NSW players are around Sam's / Vlade / Ric's level. Thats what i am trying to say so alot of them are at a strong level.

Eh, this is dumb and getting off topic. Next national (or supposed national but lack of hype thanks to Adelaide being Adelaide) should add even more stats for statistics fairies to count and throw around.

See Sieg, stepping on a small slug is just as fun as stepping on a big one, plus you don't get as much slug on your shoe.
I prefer Luke making witty posts that "step on the slug", so to speak, where Luke is awesome (and sometimes others get to join the awesome too), rather than where you all try to defend each others states, where you all suck, lol.

firstly, im just trying to generate interesting and friendly conversation. secondly, i know he isnt that much of a problem in this country. BUT mk alone makes quite a number of the cast unusable completely. thirdly, i dont personally struggle that much, so this is not why i bring up this discussion.

I use Snake and am very familiar with (Australian) MKs so I'm against banning him.

I personally think he should be banned.
His character alone is destroying possibilities for many other characters out there.
He controls the metagame and I believe it is one of the reasons the game is not as popular as it could be.

Metaknight should be banned in America. In Australia we don't have a problem with him yet and he should not be banned.

i beat *** mks now, so it doesnt matter to me as a snake main, but it matters to so many others out there. i think it stops them from playing the game.
look at the tier list. to a large extent, it reflects how characters come up against mk alone. at the very least, this is how top/high tier behave.
snake deals with mk well, so he is 2nd.
d3 and marth really struggle, sending them rather far down the list, despite how well they take on 95% of the cast. marth can kinda manage i suppose, but winning a tourney with d3 is kinda impossible. mk lols all over you with the little red button.
but imagine if mk was banned? d3 has advantages or goes even(ish) with the rest of high/top tier. imo he would rise to the best in the game. and people would start using him. we would diversify the game.
and what about oli? he really struggles with mk, but with him gone, he would only really have one top/high tier bad mu. he too should rise.
marth should rise and counter act the rise of wario. rob would also suddenly become viable.
well what do you know, we just made brawl about 3x more interesting. even if we did a temp ban, i think people would pick up new characters and get comfortable with them, meaning smash would stay interesting after he was reinstituted also.
something to think about anyway.

Well Scoot never really uses MK anymore ('cept maybe against ICs?), meaning that 4 of our top 5 never really use him.
i count 7 mks in nsw rankings. imagine if he was banned... who would fill the gap?

Just ftr, all those Metaknights really shouldn't be there. Maybe about 3 or 4 of us actively use him. It was honestly a joke.
I only use MK as a joke on people that I cbf using Falco on so I can get a match done quickly. I use Snake when I see Ice Climbers pop up.

With Dededes infinites, he makes certain characters unusable completely, I dont think MK affects any characters that badly.
I think if you want to ban MK, your main argument would reside in what he does to the counterpicking system, because in Australia, Tibs Diddy makes characters unusable completely more than any MKs we have, and lets face it no-one is actually doing the stuff that makes MK bannable really, so yeah, if you ignore what he does to stage counterpicking and character counter picking, than there you have absolutely NO ARGUMENT for banning him in Australia.
However looking at what he does to the Counterpicking system, it is quite clear that character wise, CPing MK is mainly knowing the MK (as in the player) and what character they specifically have trouble with, counterpicking the player not the character, for example Nicks has a lot of trouble against Snake (who probably is the best choice vs MK anyway though, so i guess Snake sort of CP's MKs better than most, I'd assume).
AND THEN
Looking at Stage Counterpicking, Norfair is good - (because the MKs here are Aussie ones) the whole camping skill on it is reduced so they dont actually have the advantage most people assume, Norfair is a good stage for CPing MKs (for my char, which is good on Norfair even if he doesnt camp at all).
But you have ridded that, and also it's only good for my character and like 3 others.
So now the closest stage we have for CPing MK is neutrals namely FD, and only few characters can actually CP a stage that keeps/makes the MU 50/50, and id assume some could make it better (pretty sure the MK vs GaW MU, Australia wise, is in GaWs favour on Halberd it just feels like it against everyone I play)
