What, doing the shinehog and then doublejumping before you grab the ledge? Seems to defeat the purpose of doing the shinehog xD
Maybe it will be useful as a mindgame someday when shinehogging is an essential tool in Fox´edgeguarding-game.

When running to the edge, I used to shineturnaround + waveshine + fastfall at the edge - but the shinehog is slighty faster.

If you´re not running, you also got the PC. -> edgehogging like a boss.

I'm pretty sure shinehogging will never be an "essential tool" haha
It's nice to have, but not essential
There are other alternatives that are like, comparably fast ... just not quite as fast as this

*Edit*
Sure Brookman whatever <_<
If I missed something you said I blame it on going to bed

Srsly, that technique needs more attention imo. 1st it´s fast as ****, 2nd it can be used to gimp people. So it´s not just fast, it´s also a move your opponent has to be aware of not to get hit.

If you actual hit your opponent, e.g. Falcon with that shinehogshine - he´s done. You just have to do another shinespike, and you got so much frameadvantage from that shinehog -> easy. I´ve done that several times in freeplay last week.

Somebody should make a video about that...

Ganon is IMO one of the freest matchups in the cast, even including all the low tiers.

Brookman, iirc turning around is 1 frame, not 4. Just a note.

Yeah shine hog is like run shine turn jump slide off.

I practiced it a bunch a couple years ago and was pretty consistent for a while. I find it really hard to do usually though; The timing is pretty precise.

Sometimes you can also get a shinehog out of a wavedash, and it looks really cool. It's like slide I'm shining oh wait now I'm on the ledge swag. It's really tricky though.

if you short hop and shine a frame or two before landing it places the shine hitbox through the edge. Just something to experiment with. Really useful for dealing with side b in fox/falco matches. can be used vs. marth but there's are usually better options here anyway. falcon . . .don't even need it. sheik is sheik. . . peach, maybe.

You learn something new everyday. I'd formerly thought that shine turnaround wavedash was one of maybe a few ways to do this (PC hogging is something I'll never get). Time to go to training mode...

Just walk then flick the stick in the opposite direction as you get to the ledge (not enough to trigger the run) to PC hog

So, I need another advice. I discovered it´s really helpful to play vs CPUs as Fox, so your movement gets smoother etc... But I´ve already done this for a couple of months now, is it still helpful? Or is it better to practise specific techskillstuff?

For Fox, I view it as like Training mode just like in SF. I know Fox requires a ton of tech skill precision so it's good to warm up a little bit before you play serious matches I suppose.

I don't think practicing on computers to keep tech skill fresh ever loses its value
It's better to practice something specific if you have something specific in mind to practice though (waveshine upsmash on Marth, shinehogs, ledgedashing, whateever)
If there's a technique that I want to implement in game, first step is to do it a LOT in either training mode or vs a level 1 / controller doing nothing until I get the hange of it

Warmups I almost always do vs a level 1 just to get everything up to speed

That´s just the way I practise with Fox - for warm up/general techskill I fight a CPU - if I wanna imply something specific into my game I go to trainingsmode.

I pretty sure I'm the only fox/falco player who doesn't need to "warm up".

I've never made a warm up john in my life (which is kinda surprising, since I john a lot).

Also, Kage I'm at chapter 895 of Ippo. Got less than 50 to go.

It's weird. I either warm up with other characters like Marth or Jiggs, or I play a couple matches, and in the middle of one, I'll suddenly be warmed up. I usually don't warm up Fox by playing Fox.

Ya but you've made johns about how your Fox can't move, isn't that the same thing? lol. Oh sick, almost there! Did you enjoy it? I'm guessing you did since all the fights were amazing lol.
