I don't know about best Fox, per se, but he is the best Mango.

And I guess everyone must have thought this at some point, but Mango is such a nonsensical name. It's almost just as nonsensical that smashers tend to say it with reverence.

I'm sorry if I asked that question. I mean yesterday I was watching mangos fox from genesis 2 vs Doh at Fod. I watched his fox because he is the self proclaimed best fox. he waveshine upsmash around 30% and got dsmash after the tech in place. You ramble about Mango reading your guide for fox this and that yet I saw a mistake from him.

geez, It's like i have to bend over to get an answer around here. (no homo).
I'm sorry, did you try to make sense here?? Cause this just comes accross as a series of sentences with no relation to one another.

Kels's Fox would be a lot better if he didn't Shine airborne opponents during combos and just kept Nairing them or u-tilted, etc.

He drops a lot of really good punishment opportunities.

I was saying that Mango is simply the best player. I wasn't saying that there was any Fox better than him now (cause it doesn't seem like there is), I was trying very poorly to make a distinction between having an awesome character, and being an awesome player in general.

Well, yeah. Tags/screen names are often, if not always, nonsensical. But...Mango...

I mean Mango said in his interview, why shouldn't he be considered for best chars <_<
The fact that he's so multifaceted is amazing ... I mean, no one considered HBox to have the best anything-but-Puff when he was winning every tournament Mango wasn't (and some that he was) at would you?

And Mango said there's an origin to his tag, but apparently it was like way too boring so he didn't bother to elaborate on it ¬.¬
Was probably eating a mango while playing Puff one day or something haha

Wow, damn. I'm on episode 300 something. It's really my favorite anime, I need to get back into it. Aren't there like 14 movies by now?

perfect ledgehop waveland can have up to 13 frames of actionable invincibility btw.
you sure about the 13? i did a test in AR and got 11 +/- 1

and i only watched the american case closed, which has ~130 episodes and 6 movies.

edit- me and kels do so many things alike but he is obviously so much better than me. There are so many things we have picked up from each other i'm not sure who really taught who what. There are lots of things i saw his fox do in that set and i was like "HEY THATS MY MOVE".

Yeah, he should be considered for his best. If he says that that's Fox, and the evidence is there (which it is), then there isn't anything to deny. It's weird to me, though, cause it seems like he dabbled with Fox here and there, and then all of a sudden, there it was.

I coulda sworn it was actually 15 frames; My friend who TASes melee made a big chart for all the characters that has 15 frames for fox. Maybe he did it wrong or something.

Oh maybe my thing was 12 +/- 1. I wasn't looking at my original post, so i was just going off what other ppl were saying. In any case, its not really that important.

Its definitely not 15 frames, though.

I haven't posted this outside of the regional boards so only a few of my friends know this, but I am mostly quitting this game. My last TO'd tournament was a week ago and my last tournament is going to be MIST in two weeks, after that I will be moving on. I haven't been having fun with melee for a few months, and while battling with depression and other things, I think the best thing to do is to spend my free time with things I enjoy. I am finally going away to college and my #1 concern will be my school work. As a secondary I think I will be playing Starcraft 2, along with a few other games i'm looking forward to this year. I will probably remain semi-active on the boards and possibly return for a few tournament here and there, but I will slowly be disappearing from action.

Every player has their limits. Best of luck in the future.

I heard that marth has an extender glitch too, if you press left/right/left/right during a fsmash and end the fsmash without getting hit, his sword doubles in length.

well theres some sort of overnight housing in the church that includes setups and what not. Would be sweet to actually get time to play against you.

I remember watching kels play at my first tournament and being very underwhelmed. It was disappointing to recognize so many mistakes.
Now that I can recognize what he does well and how he's thinking about the match instead of focussing on places where he could have had stock if he had just SH naired, it's almost depressing to see how solid his game actually is <.<

(he won and all he would say was "this shine is soooo broken" lol)

Damn you Palpi, i wanted to make that joke.

Also, let's discuss fullhop weak nair as an edgeguard, mainly against predictable recoveries like spacies. It has been working pretty decently for me, but i die whenever i fail, so thats not good :p

I did it on accident, I was so tired at that point, I forgot to type fun.

Are you talking about the zelgadis special? Bthrow->full hop nair off stage->shine. It is a gimmick, but I think once you get it on your opponent once, they will try to avoid it, and once you realize that, it is so easy to punish their alternative recovery habits.

No moves should be named after that guy anymore.
