Ever heard of samurai champloo, the gundams series,yu yu hakusho(dbz but with a actual storyline and good character development). Dbz isn't as great as ppl say. My power lv is 9000 more than yours I win. I beat u half to death or to death u get stronger by nearly dying now my power is higher so nothing u do now hurts me.

I don't think DBZ is the greatest thing ever but I think it suffers a bit too much from the backlash from its popularity. I thought the storyline and characters and etc. were pretty good. (Except maybe the last saga.) It was really influential, and as a result a lot of it may seem cliche or whatever now.

I really feel like a lot of the retardedness that's associated with DBZ is from the anime (especially the american version), like all the fights being stretched out unreasonably and the cringeworthy dialogue. I've only read some of the manga, but from what I've seen it's quite good.

the series was supposed to end after the frieza saga. it would have been great had that occurred.
it just got boring afterward, with everyone and their mother becoming a super saiyan and making krillin/piccolo/yamcha/tien/etc. completely obsolete in terms of defending Earth.

my favorite anime is Detective Conan.

My take on DBZ was that it was extremely cliche and not very creative at all but it overcame all that by being completely bad *** and basically you end up basking in the cliche overly dramatic epicness as a guilty pleasure.

As a child, I woke up every saturday morning at 5 a.m. to watch dbz with my dad. Regardless of what anyone says (barring the trememndous amount of filler in the tv series) DBZ is a great piece of work.

Wait, I like Fairy Tail and keep up with Bleach but aren't they just about fighting for your friends and being badass? <___<

My dad used to play Starfox64 and Super Mario Bros 3 with me
But that's about it

Anyways we should go back to talking about shinehogging or something, my new 3rd favorite technique

For me, first is ledgedashing 2nd is shortening illusion

Ledgedashing is what you said it was

A good ledgedash gives you some stupid number of frames where you're completely invincible (it's in the double digits if you're perfect)

So basically that means with a good ledgedash you can do stuff like ...
Ledgedash upsmash
Ledgedash grab
Ledgedash Nair
Ledgedash run the **** away

And have them be invincible for at least the startup
It's basically the ****, but people are too scared of dying or something so they don't abuse it to the point where opponents are scared to even approach the ledge while you're on it for fear of getting *****
Or they don't adapt and just get ledgedash upsmashed like 10 times a game
It's great

And shortening is like hella cheap, gets through basically everything and gives Fox a good recovery as opposed to illusioning at them like Shiz and getting *****

take the edge for invincibility then you let go and perfect wavedash onto the stage with invincibility frames from grabbing the edge. Ledge dashing is not really mandatory for beginners tho and there are much more fundamental things you should work on learning/perfecting.

I was about to edit my message and mention her dsmash.

thanks for the advice.
I forgot to mention to C-Stick-Jump after Peach teched your Up-Smash - you jump in the first possible frame -> easy going.

So I´m gonna practise that ledgedash now, wanna know the frame-data too.

DBZ seems cliche now but wasn't it basically the first of its type? It was such an influential series.

Detective Conan (Case Closed) was an incredible series, i just finished watching the whole thing (and the 6 movies) a month or two ago. Well worth the time put into it. I watched most of Yu Yu Hakusho recently too, but it started to go down hill. Some of my friends swear by animes like Clannad but i can't get into them lol. Gantz was a really good series, if dark.

I figured that. I tend to c-stick -jump in place a lot.
Yeah, I thought you already knew that ;)

E: 12 frames...well you gotta release from that edge pretty fast. I wish there was a vid where you can see how far you can make it on the stage till the invincebility ends.

With what, running?
When I say actionable I mean, you finish the wavedash animation and you have 12 frames to do absolutely anything you want and you're completely invincible

Like ... after the wavedash ends
<_<
Fox's ledgedash is broken

I suggest everyone read the manga Negima, it's starts slow, but then it turns in a combination of DBZ, Harry Potter, and Love Hina. And yes I know, that sounds lame but it is totally ballar, this is from someone who doesn't really like anime anyway. It is right up there with Berserk as my favorite mangas.

Oh, I got that one wrong, sry ^__^ Well, with these 12 frames there´s much stuff you could do like you mentioned before...

I´ll give it a try *grabs controller again*

E: What´s the best way to utilize these frames? Should I perfect waveland onto the stage or do an immediate jump after let go and do a "small" ledgedash?

I like Negima

ZetTroxX if you have problems just think about it as wavedashing, but with a down press immediately before the jump input

And when I say immediately ... I mean immediately haha

If you want it broken down into parts

First press down and hit jump - you shouldn't see any noticeable drop from the ledge, and if you are, hit jump earlier

When you have that down, just press R or L at standard wavedash timing and you should get it

If you want to practice without dealing with SDs, go into training mode, controller port 1, Final Destination, move the menu selection down to reset, and whenever you die just press start and A and you'll be back to the left of FD for another try

*edit*
There's no best way
If you see them shielding, grab
If they're just standing there (or jumping in particular) Upsmash
If they're standing out of ledgedash upsmash range either Nair, or at this point just waveland on the lip of the stage instead of doing a full ledgedash
You could also ledgedash Nair and be safe from most things if you're fast about it'
Alternatively you could just run the **** away xD Fox is pretty mad fast

Basically since you're invincible you get to be the one reacting to what they do, instead of what would normally be an RPS skewed in their favor

I am reminded of a time, when shined blind was released, every local fox player just became completely stupid for wave shining and shine spiking.

Whats the best option after peach techs in place your usmash during waveshine combo?
I'm pretty sure if she techs it, she's at frame advantage and can down smash you no matter what you do. I think it's the same with Ganon, where if they tech the up smash he can jab no matter what.

But on the possibility that they're imperfect, I'd suggest trying to buffer jump or roll. Jump lets you keep going if they down smash; roll just has the invincibility for getting away. You might be able to Shine her first, but since you're supposed to lose this exchange, I don't think anything involving "down" is a good idea. Still, random clinks can save stocks and it is, technically, the fastest option.

Wow, damn. I'm on episode 300 something. It's really my favorite anime, I need to get back into it. Aren't there like 14 movies by now?

perfect ledgehop waveland can have up to 13 frames of actionable invincibility btw.

Just watch Dragonball Kai, it's DBZ but without all the bull****.. it takes like 100 episodes the entire saiyan, freeza and cell saga instead of 300 episodes or some **** lol.

Gantz is really good, and so are Negima and Fairy Tail (even though that one is a little bit standard). Claymore is SUPER awesome, but the anime ending might ruin it for you; read the manga instead.

Also, I think I might be the only one reading Naruto out of sheer force of habit. It's a really annoying read now, but I'm too far in to stop.

By the way, what is C-stick jumping? I must've heard this term before, but I don't know what it is, nor does it really ring a bell.

You can jump out of your shield by tilting the C-stick up. When you do that after e.g. an Up-Smash you can buffer your jump -> you jump in the first possible frame.

deal more ****ing damage first you ****ing noob. <4 LOL
I'm sorry if I asked that question. I mean yesterday I was watching mangos fox from genesis 2 vs Doh at Fod. I watched his fox because he is the self proclaimed best fox. he waveshine upsmash around 30% and got dsmash after the tech in place. You ramble about Mango reading your guide for fox this and that yet I saw a mistake from him.

geez, It's like i have to bend over to get an answer around here. (no homo).

MANGO MADE A MISTAKE? IMPOSSIBLE!

Seriously though, being the best doesn't mean you never make mistakes. Mango is a human like everyone else lol.

And lol @ "self proclaimed". He IS the best Fox by a pretty damn decent margin.
