turnaround usmash out of shine out of shield out of moonwalk
****?!!?!?
That's so stupid and pointless. The worst part is I'm inevitably going to try it the next time I play.

I think I should post some useful information to liven up this thread. Usually, when I see a post that I think is important, I'll save it to a word doc. for later use.

KirbyKaze on Dash-dancing:

KirbyKaze said:
It's MOSTLY A SPACING TOOL and allows you to see the opponent's responses to approach/retreat WITHOUT COMMITTING TO THE SLIGHT LAG OF EITHER JUMPING, LANDING, OR THE ATTACK LAG and therefore can be used to scout defensive play by the opponent AND SOMETIMES CREATE OPENINGS BECAUSE IT CAN INTIMIDATE THE OPPONENT ESPECIALLY IF IT'S A LONG DASH DANCE SUCH AS FOX'S OR FALCON'S OR MARTH'S.

I think this was Arcnatural a few months ago; on priority:

GROUND VS GROUND

Priority is simple here. If your attack is within eight damage of your opponent's, they will clank. If your attack is stronger, his attack will clank and yours will power through and vice versa. Disjointed hitboxes do not affect this.

GROUND VS AIR OR AIR VS AIR

Priority doesn't exist here. Both people will trade hits, unless you have a disjointed hitbox and your opponent's attack doesn't actually connect with your character.

PROJECTILES

Projectiles are always clankable, whether by an aerial or a ground attack

More random quotes:

Raynex said:
Never have a preset approach, always react to what your opponent is doing. Make your moves dependant on what movements they make. Whether they're camping, attacking, running or recovering - if you filter your moves to include only the ones that will be the most useful in a given situation, you'll find that killing your opponent will be much easier. Spamming moves you think will work isn't how its done; think and react.

What's a good way to learn to Waveshine quickly? I'm trying to learn it, then trying to do a running one so I can go in for a throw combo but my hands aren't moving fast enough.

Should I try to learn to put my index finger on the Y button when going in for it?

Shai drop?
If your already holding the direction in front of you while shielding, if you then tilt the stick to a 45 degree angle you will platform drop.

Easy way to try is to just stand on one edge of a platform then dash right and shield while still holding right. Then just do 45 degree angle down and to the right.

Hey guys.

It's been awhile since I've posted, but that's because I've been practicing.
I took your advice, and I think I got better.
I feel that my gameplay has become slightly more aggressive, and my overall reaction time has increased by a bit.
Wow, sounds like I leveled up.
Anyways, since all I have are CPUs, I figured I'd go ahead and show myself practicing.
I'd say it's an okay fight, but then again, it's a level 1 CPU.
Do you really expect much?

It's hard to base how you play when you play a lvl 1 CPU. It doesn't show us how you adapt to certain situations that playing a person would show.

I have a question: Could you tell me about the Shiek matchup? It's the only matchup I am not entirely sure of. All I know is that I can drill shine combo pretty well. That's about it.

Don't get grabbed. A good sheik will tech chase you all over the place if you get grabbed. Control the platforms since Sheiks like to use platform drop needle grabs. Control the middle of the stage, as Sheiks also like to gimp spacies to high hell. Drill waveshine uthrow uair should be your best friend, unless they SDI the uair, then bair. When edgeguarding its better to hold the ledge and make them come back on the stage and punish them for their laggy up b landing.

There's more to this, but I'm doing a chem lab right now and can't think of anything else :urg:

Usually during a Sheik matchup the only combo I'll go for is a waveshine grab or a waveshine u-smash. I don't necessarily focus on comboing Sheik as much as I do getting her in the air to prep for u-airs, etc. A Sheik playing will know that you're going for a u-air, so expect DI. At higher percentages, this works to your advantage because you can come up with a bair or something instead just to mix them up.

Watch out for crouch cancelled grabs.

As far as edge-gaurding goes, either wait for her to recover onto the stage (when she's vulnerable), or take advantage of the mid-air jump portion of her recovery. I usually rely on sheer edgegames to either get her to screw up and attempt to sweet spot, in which case I'll hold onto the ledge, or recover above the ledge and be exposed to ledge-hopped attacks. Take advantage of Fox's speed here.

You can CC tilts at low percents (if they are dumb enough to do them) into a grab I think.

This ^

Also, be careful of her jabs. Jab reset ***** fox.

Crouch cancel her slaps, as well, if you can. NOT BY THE EDGE THOUGH.

d-tilt is amazing vs. Sheik. waveshine -> d-tilt is the own.
