Just wondering, does anyone who posts here still play this game, like at all? I've been playing a lot of CoD4 recently, making all of the M40 nubs cry as I own them with my Juggernaut Dragunov.

^ Proof that PS3 players can't aim. ^
I started out on Xbox, just saying. I bought my own PS3 in March of 2010 (my previous one(s) my brother paid half for, and paid me back when he moved out), but I've owned a 360 since release.

I really wish there was a way for us to play cross-platform. I know Leafy and me have 360 versions but I don't know if anyone else does. Too bad I suck with the stupid 360 controller though.
Actually, I sold my Xbox copy of MW2 for $30, and spent it on beer. Besides that, I still own every Call of Duty game except CoD1(PC) and MW2 for the Xbox, and I only own CoD4/WaW/MW2 for the PS3.

Meh I only use heartbeat on search and destroy, I just hate the people in the lobby who start yelling and crying cause you're using a "baby monitor". I mean you should be using ninja on search anyways >_>
You're right, I definitely shouldn't be seeing enemy equipment or hearing them.

I would, but my disc is dead.

Call of Duty FPS confirmed for late 2011

http://www.gamespot.com/news/6283588.html?tag=latestheadlines;title;1

One detail that was revealed was that the Call of Duty series will once again have a fresh first-person installment late next year. "We will launch a new first-person action title during the back half of 2011," Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg said. This sentiment was later echoed by Activision COO Thomas Tippl, who said that "Next year's Call of Duty will be a first-person shooter."

The executives did not name the game or which studio was developing it. A likely suspect is Modern Warfare 3, which court documents identified as being in development at Infinity Ward as of May. That same month, Activision said the studio, which had lost over 35 members following the firing of its founders in March, continued to work on its "next big project."

A second Call of Duty is also in the works from newly formed studio Sledgehammer Games. Though Activision has said this title would take the Call of Duty series into the action-adventure genre, third-person, a May job listing indicated it would also be a first-person shooter. Activision has not said when the Sledgehammer title will be released, but said it was not the unnamed COD project slated for next year--presumably Modern Warfare 3.

I finally found some people close by to play Melee with, so until that ends, I'm probably done with CoD. We'll see if BO can convert me, but I love Melee too much to really play any other game.

M16 or MP5 w/ RDS
Desert Eagle
Frag/Stun
Bandolier
Stopping Power
Dead Silence

AK-47 or AK-74u w/ No Attachment
Desert Eagle
Frag/Stun
Bandolier
Stopping Power
Dead Silence

OR my personal favorite:

Dragunov w/ Regscope
Desert Eagle
Frag/Stun
Bandolier
Juggernaut
Dead Silence

Those are my 5 classes I have in CoD4. There's not as much versatility as there is in MW2, so the closest thing I have to a fun class is my Juggernaut Dragunov, which basically makes the M40A3 users rage like no tomorrow.

Soooooo I was playing FFA on Invasion and I kill this one sniper. I'm playing litterbug/gummeurgun so I take his intervention. I killed him in C Domination point building and figure he'll come back for revenge (since I killed hiw w/throwing knife while on ladder) so I hang out in a different part of the building.

Sure enough I hear/see stuns being thrown in the area I killed him. I then see him come into the area I was in looking for me and we have an intervention fight. I didn't really give a **** so I'm just trying to no scope him close range while he's trying to quickscope me. I then proceed to get a hitmarker on him, then get the kill on the next shot.

After the game he sends me a message asking to have a quickscope match.

I really didn't care so I played him. At first I tried to quickscope (I can't quickscope lol) and was hanging in there. He wins the first game and when we start the second I decide I'm gonna hardscope to get him mad. Of course, he starts complaining about me hardscoping when I kill him and was saying I was bad etc. He even *****ed about my hardscoping when I got a quickscope/dragscope (idk how to describe it lol) on him.

It eventually ended when his cousin turned of his xbox or w/e.

The events that transpired in this past few 10-20 minutes, is exactly why I hate quickscopers.

I'd be interested in hearing it since I am of the opinion that Sit Rep is pretty bad, but if you don't want to that's alright.
oh youz trollin'
even without pro status, you get to see enemy equip, meaning you can tell where some dude is strategically placed and give shout outs to your team. The pro perk allows you to hear everything .75 times louder than usual, rendering ninja pro useless.

SitRep is the best perk in the game for anyone that does not sit in a corner without moving for the entire game.

You can see enemy equipment. This is not only a good thing so you don't happen to run into any Claymores, but it actually lets you know where the enemy is. If you see a red flashing claymore in a building, guess where the guy is? Probably in that building. And since you know where the claymore is, it's MUCH easier to enter without notice, and then to kill him. Stun/Flash the claymore and enter.

Manipulation of equipment is VERY important in this game. For example, if I see a guy set up in a building with two claymores covering both entrances, I can set off each one without entering, and then he's stuck there without any protection. Assuming I do get killed, he's only earned one Claymore back with scavenger, meaning that his defenses are still lower than they had been. Also, people panic when both of their claymores go off.

With the pro version of the perk, you can hear EVERYTHING, without hearing ANYTHING your teammates are doing. Some using Ninja Pro may be saying "Yes, but I can hear everything because I'm so much quieter myself." To that, I say "I don't have to try to filter my teammate's sounds, and I only have to focus on my those of my enemies." SitRep Pro makes all your teammates sound as though they have Ninja Pro, and it cancels out enemy Ninja Pros. Meaning that if you hear anything louder than the Ninja Pro footstep, an enemy is near.

And the amount of sound whoring you can do with SitRep pro with a good headset is INSANE. It's like a mini-UAV inside your head. With good experience on maps, you can call out enemy positions just based on the sound their footsteps are making. Take Storm, for example. If I'm sitting inside the main building, and I hear footsteps on metal, I can instantly assume that the enemy is on one of those metal platforms, either outside near the manikin shop, or inside against the wall. Or, say on Bailout, if I'm near the building that borders the parking lot at the bottom of the hill, and I hear footsteps on wood, the enemy is inside the building. If I hear them on concrete, the enemy is outside. If I hear them behind me, then spawns got ****ed up, but I can save myself based on that information.

SitRep is the BEST perk for a rushing class, for all the reasons listed above. I typically run the majority of my classes these days with Marathon/2nd perk/SitRep. Marathon Pro, combined with SitRep Pro, allow you to abuse the **** out of your mobility, so you can get around equipment, escape nasty situations, change positions easily, etc.

The one weakness SitRep has, is being vulnerable to Heartbeat Sensors, but those aren't too common, and even then you can typically abuse those using a Rush Class. I still happen to have one or two classes with Ninja on them just for that, though.

Also, when two people with SitRep Pro get into a fight, it's the funniest thing ever, because they're both sound whoring each other to death. It's so hard to do. XD

I might of missed something, but those are the main things I love about SitRep Prooooooooo.

I really do not want to do a write-up on why Ninja Pro destroys SitRep Pro, but if I need to I will. I think I've done it before but I can lay it out again.

I consider them about equal. I like to use SitRep when I play solo so that I don't have to hear the footsteps of my teammates. But this is such a waste of time. This game is so dead.

I have 2 classes that are the same, but one with ninja and one with sitrep. I use the ninja class more since I don't have sitrep pro but I switch over to the sitrep class once I know people are using claymores.

People will still play this game online as long as the game servers are still online.

Game companies only shut down their online multiplayer servers if there's no one playing it.

People play as long as there are servers.

And servers exist as long as people play?
Some sort of catch 22 i see...

But on topic....

The sitrep arguments pretty good actually. It definitely makes me want to try it a little more. I'll probably still mainly use ninja though.

I'm working on Sit Rep Pro... it's not exactly easy :/

On the bright side, my extended break from MW2 has actually made me better at this game. I mean, like two days ago I went 45-8 and before I could only go up to 34-7 or something like that. Pretty happy. I'm also considering looking into a 10th prestige lobby because I want to already get there before BO comes out

To me, anyways, SitRep serves the more aware and highly skilled player better than Ninja, while Ninja is much easier to use in general. I never really see bad players using SitRep, ever. Anytime I've encountered a SitRep player, they're high on the leaderboards and usually give me a lot of trouble.

SitRep Pro is reaaaaaaaally time consuming. It's easier to acquire with FMJ on your weapons, so you can get equipment through walls. SnD is probably a good place to look too.

Game scores usually depend on the players in your lobby, too. Also, if those aren't in TDM, then they're not incredibly amazing. =/

**** it, and you all say that Lightweight is the hardest perk to get pro in

Does it help that it was in TDM and the next highest score on my team was 8-15?

Is it bad I actually have trouble in game modes like Dem, Dom, Cap, and other things where you can get ridiculously high scores? I can go positive all day in TDM, but when it comes to game modes like that, I always come out negative, q_q

Which really sucks, because I love demolition.

Does it cancel out Ninja Pro?

I think I read somewhere it doesn't.
I don't think it does directly, although I believe it works out that way numerically.

Ninja makes footsteps 1/4 as loud as usual.
SitRep causes enemy footsteps to be 4x louder than usual.

So, 1/4 x 4 = 1, so Ninja and SitRep cancel each other out.

Yeah, it means that your lobby was full of awful players. XD

Different game modes cause spawns to work differently, so it's not really that bad. Sometimes all you need to do is learn how the games typically flow in order to go positive in different game types.
