The online community for MW2 is far from dead, I see over 100k players playing the game.

It's just that this thread is no longer updated due to nothing new being announced for the game. (i.e. patches, map packs etc.)

This thread had a good run.

Interesting stuff. I was really expecting them to go through with MW3 and not this prequel idea.

And it seems like it'll be good since Ghost is a pretty cool guy.

I actually came to this thread to post that exact link, only you beat me to it, F8AL. I was actually thinking a prequel when I heard the next game in the series would be in the Modern Warfare timeline. But really, after my abrupt end with MW2 where I went from defending it for so long, to just flat out hating it with a passion, I doubt I'll be picking up this game as easily as I did Black Ops.

If this rumour is indeed true, then I am VERY excited for the prequel.

It's said to not being released this year but in 2012. I guess that means that Slegehammer games/Treyarch has to release a new CoD game during the second half of this year.

MW2 isn't horrible anymore. I've been playing it online recently and I don't see anyone using OMA, commando or runners and the spawn systems seems to be better now. I'm assuming all those *******s left to play Black Ops.

I'm actually enjoying playing the game online now. :urg:

I'm a 360 player, remember? ;)

And I almost got a nuke last night. Went on a 24 kill streak then they got a UAV and killed me... :mad:

So many Christmas noobs online right now lol.

Ha wouldn't imagine Christmas noobs for such an old game. Buy a PS3 bud! Maybe I can come play on 360 with you if I get bored, forgot if I still have MW2 on 360 though.

Trust me, everyone is pretty bad right now online in MW2. I see a lot of low level players and I can get my higher kill streaks a lot faster and easier now. :awesome:

I have no real reason to get a PS3 bro, only a few games on that console which I'd actually buy. I only bought a 360 cause I wanted to play Halo/Gears of War and most of my friends got one instead of a PS3.

Let me know if you have MW2 on the 360 so we can play. :cool:

I'll play with you, I'm a Christmas noob though. I have a headset (janky style, but it worksworks well)

My name is "Faithkeeper_" if you are interested.

Do FFA and TDM cater to different skill sets/playstyles? I usually go about even or a little negative in TDM, but almost always go positive and usually top 3 in FFA.

Maybe it has something to do with my kit?

Let's put it this way:

If you yourself aren't super horrible, then you'll do fine in FFA since you won't get paired with crappy teammates (that is if you're not the "crappy teammate" since you're the whole team in FFA :p)

This game has been "hacked" badly.

At least 1/3rd of the games I play is said games. I've prestiged twice instantly because of it :awesome:, but it get's annoying after a while losing to "hackers."

Well I just got into an awesome one yesterday. If this guy yt extreats was host, if you kill yourself, you automatically level up to lv70. I just kept leaving and coming back. It was hilarious. If you aim down your sights and knife you can knife from any distance. I went from second prestige to 8th prestige. He won every free for all because care packages were chopper gunner only and he kept getting em. After three games I stole his care package and broke his win streak. Then me and my friends pissed him off I think because we would all rush his care package and he left D: But they all got to tenth and I got to 8th and it was free :D

Yeah the easy 10th prestige hacking everyone is doing kind of makes me wanna play this game again too, plus I kinda miss playing this game.

Me too, it's a shame that the online MW2 community for the PS3 has fallen to this. Sure, they don't care about balancing the game, but this problem makes the game unplayable for normal players.

I randomly decided to play this game again and went into a lobby where I automatically prestiged (and got every challenge complete) and then went into another lobby where each of my kills gave me 50000 exp.

Sadly, I doubt anything can be done to fix this though. The game, from what I've read, takes all of its security from the PS3 (unlike BO) so its basically up to Sony. The only problem is that unless Sony starts banning people from playing online, this isn't going to get any better anytime soon.

I'm not being a pessimist, I'm being realistic... Well, not really.

When I switched over from Xbox to PS3, and started playing CoD4, it was horrible for a really long time, but I guess they did fix it, still laggy as a ***** though. But they probably will fix it, just not anytime soon. They still haven't fixed the Rock Glitch on Fuel, which a lot of people paid for, which is just bull****. I don't care what problems they've had within their company, because they only care about numbers.

Either way, I couldn't care less, I'm never playing this game again, and I doubt I'll buy another IW game again. But if you guys enjoy the game, it's whatever.

I love it how they blame it on the recent security breaches on the PS3. Hacks/issues/problems like these have existed in the past and on every platform.

If this problem doesn't get fixed soon/ever, it will look bad on both Infinity Ward and Sony.

You probably will, even if I don't buy it. My brother would probably end up getting it for me anyways, but unless something big comes up, I'll probably be playing Black Ops for a long time. To add onto that, MvC3 is coming out next month, that'll also be occupying a large amount of time as well, probably more so than BO, whenever I stop prestiging.

I refuse to put my own money into another IW game. The last time I played this game, I went 60-7 in Domination on Favela, and 100% of my deaths were to Grenade Launchers. I don't care how well I do in a game, if the game plays like ****.

I enjoy playing this game online now. I don't see people using gay setups/perks/tactics that much. The spawn system is decent now.

The game hasn't improved, but the online community has.

I don't see the big deal about the hacks, if I end up going up to 10th prestige due to hacks, I'm not gonna complain. Though if they do wall hacks and stuff like that then I would be annoyed.

Ugh, I played this game the other day, and I remembered why is it that I despised this game so much before BO came out.

Seeing as how ****ty this game was, I don't know whether or not if I'll buy another IW game again and my fan loyalty was lowered as a result of this game that gave me about 6 months of absolute hell having to deal with getting blown up every 5 minutes. IF they cared, they would've patched OMA like they promised us, they would've patched the rock glitch in Fuel because I PAYED for that map at an expensive*** price, and instead of giving us remakes of maps in CoD4 that were ****ty to begin with, they would've given us REAL maps. They would've given us original maps, not **** like Strike which has a goddamn awful map design to begin with.

Ugh, if it wasn't for the fact that I payed 50 dollars for that ****, I would've already broke the CD in half and thrown it in the garbage can. There is absolutely nothing IW can do at this point that will make me forgive them for MW2, NOTHING
