Although, I understand that you guys definitely prefer his down throw as an awesome tech chaser. You can keep the down throw as it is now, definitely. I was just providing my ideas and input. :)

Idk if this is known already, but whenever Peach does her down-B and pulls out a beam sword and you try to use it right away it's like.....weird. The hitboxes and animations are messed up and you have to throw it and pick it up again to make it work right.

that's intentional. it's been in since day one of vbrawl.

WheelOFish, I'm pretty sure it was programmed into the game. O_o although it was poorly implemented, yes.

Toad. Taunt. UpB. Any action that puts the Beam Sword away will make it swing correctly afterwards.

Hey guys, I've been out of the community for a while, and I just checked back for the first time since I downloaded 4.0. Anyways, I just have a question about Ness' jump canceling. Is there anyway to make his movement not cancel, or is he just going to do that every time? (note: I have not downloaded 5.0 since I have no way of getting info from my computer to my memory card, so sorry for asking a potentially dumb question)

You cancel the second jump with an attack if you don't hold the jump button. Holding the jump button while you perform the attack will not cancel the jump.

Not that interesting. I expect all results for B+ to be diverse until we stop making so many changes and allow the metagame to develop for more than 3-4 months. When that happens, we'll start seeing patterns in results. If that doesnt happen, that just means that not only is WBR 2gud, but we have to wait longer until a character starts to win too much through different players. V:

One thing that'd be nice for the next B+ release is the option to adjust hitstun for matches against people either not used to it, or less experienced players.

Couldn't the damage ratio somehow be set to adjust hitstun or does it work differently then I'm aware?

^That kinda seems counter productive to introducing people into playing B+ for its physics. Buffer is one thing as it is a personal choice that only has bearing on input. However allowing for hitstun change in the standard release would just create more sub divisions in the already small B+ community.

I've started to dislike to Hitstun the more I play as Yoshi, seems it effects his DI significantly, and also Yoshi has an annoying lack of it on nearly all his ground attacks. :(

Hitstun doesn't affect DI, you are just unable to jump/attack/AD for a period of time.

And how do any of his moves have DI?

People were playing Plus in gamers (I haven't seen that in such a long time) and it did that black screen glitch thing. Now that you have PSA, maybe you can transfer the DD/DC ect game mechanics responsible to PSA so it doesn't happen anymore

A wild kupo appeared!

We're actually looking into doing this, but it hasn't been coded yet.

It should play very similarly to Brawl+ (but perhaps not the same as the current version as I'm using an outdated data code.

Most importantly, check that the gravity on Metaknight's Tornado and Link's Up+B are appropriate.

Much wubs.

my friend wanted to know why hybrid air dodge isn't in the official codeset. i know theres probably some obvious reason, but i couldn't see anything when i played with it.

It doesn't mesh well with brawl+ physics. At all.

And no, we are not tearing apart the whole physics engine just to make wavedashing better.

You wouldn't need to tear down the physics engine to implement wavedashing. One of the big reasons HAD isn't in the game is because it's a more useful as an extra jump (since you don't go into fallspecial afterward) rather than just an airdodge.

Imo, the only real problem with brawl wavedashing is the fact that ledges won't let you fall off them in the wait animation. Couple this with a way to individualize the distance gained between characters, and you have a working wavedash system

All this assumes that HAD managed to add lag to the start of the wavedash, though. I can't remember off the top of my head if it did or not. Even if it didn't, it don't think it would be that difficult to do so, now.

Edit: For the record, I don't want it in plus. I think it would help the game out loads, but it has such a bad stigma. I don't wanna have to defend the game against melee 2.0 people. =_=

well, i didn't use the code to have wavedashing, i used it to see how it would function, and it seemed to work fine, though i was playing vBrawl with it.

will you people stop jumping to the conclusion hat anybody who asks about hybrid air dodge wants it in for WDing. really, it makes you sound like *****.

If that was directed to me, I wasn't responding to your post. Just this:

And no, we are not tearing apart the whole physics engine just to make wavedashing better.
Zxeon pretty much nailed your question, at any rate. Apart from that, the whole melee 2.0 thing definitely contributed.

i undertsand, but my original question wasn't about WDing, so his comment on it was based souly on the assumption that i want WDing in B+. which, as i've already said, is wrong.

Once again, there's nothing wrong with modeling Brawl+ after a good competitive game.

Anyone who plays both Melee and Brawl+ knows they feel nothing alike. Anyone who doesn't has no room to say that Brawl+ is trying to be Melee 2.0.

I approve this message. Melee and Brawl were made as polar opposites of the same series and genre. Melee did it right for the competitive aspect. Even if it was a complete accident.

And vBrawl was designed more as a party game. It does the job very well, to be honest. However, we are trying to blend in competitive aspects to brawl, while keeping some of that more party-like atmosphere.

In short, No matter how much we changed brawl, it could never be similar to melee.

Hi everyone!

I'm a whole newb to this (but DEFINTIELY not to melee or brawl ;D), so I have a couple questions related to this more for clarification than anything else.

1. Does the hitstun in 5.0RC1 seem too strong/long, or is it just me getting used to it? Or did I get too carried away with brawl physics >_>

I'd like a way to be able to decrease EVER so slightly, while I may have the patience to get used it, many of my friends who rely on my Wii bringing on every other Friday to school are really not too into the competitive aspect, and I don't want to listen to them complain about hitstun the whole match v_v

2. Is sheik broken 0.o!? I just got ***** by sheik for some reason. It was ridiculous. (Keep in mind im testing this against CPUs, which probably is a bad way to be able to generate feedback, but I just want to test the physics before trying to use it for real! =D)

3. I don't know if this is the place to ask, but is it possible to get a link to the code list? like hitstun, there might be some i might want to turn on and some i might want to turn off (and some to change the value for) when playing my local non-competitive buddies (but a lot of the stuff in brawl+ is great, just some of it makes it too hard for casuals).

Thank you for your help in advance!

you can't just turn on and turn off hitstun. It's a lot more complicated than that.. >.>

Just get used to it, seriously...it's been this much hitstun since like, april...

and get buddies that are competitive. :V

BTW, sheik is not broken, it's just you.
