Make it 16 pools instead of 32 in the second round of pools is going to be better I think.
Then we will have 8 people in every pool and 4 people will advance.

It maybe sounds like it is the same thing but I think this is way more fair. When 2 people advance from a pool it can be enough to lose 1 set to not going throw that round of pool.

With 8 people in every pool more people will advance from each pool and you get a chance to play against more players/MUs and that gives a more fair round of pools.

This will not take any longer time I think sience all the pools will have twice more TVs.

This is something you really should consider and I hope you will change this =)

8 ppl per pool just takes a lot more matches than 4 people will.

The skill gaps in each pool will not be as great when all the players are spread. With 8 you will get 4 first seeds and 4 second seeds. For players it MAY be more fun but for the TO it will take WAY too long esp with Brackets right after.




This is on top of the fact that between Round 1 and Round 2 we are doing USA vs the World and that needs to be organized as well ( we still have to pick captains and figure that out BEFORE APEX happens ) so we can promote the exhibition as something great.




Sorry Armada you know I love making you happy. We will do our best to make sure the pools are fair and fun for all.

(3+2+1)x2= 12 sets

This is an international. Everyone attending should understand that this is the absoulte height of everything Smash.

This is also the same reason we're setting up 20 free play stations for each Melee and Brawl. You'll have time to play your games, even if you're out.

I think Armada asked because he wants people who come to the tournament to be able to play as much matches as possible(especially out of country players); with bigger more players get more matches in, so even if they get knocked out before the bracket they'll feel as if they got there money's worth.

I'm not sure free play should take precedence over allowing more tournament matches, but I can see arguments for both cases.
