I’m in favor of mario kart getting obscure mario characters but I don’t think it should just randomly make half the next game’s roster obscure characters from RPG’s or something like some people think

Don’t localize Mother 3.
I’m saying this because I know nintendo would heavily censor and alter the game to the point that it’s message, impact and themes would be way weaker and it wouldn’t be as good. Emulating it is fine and is a way better job than nintendo would ever do.
The part in avengers endgame where the beginning of guardians of the galaxy was shown made me a lot more nostalgic than I thought it would

I feel like the crowd cheer in smash bros is a weird relic of the times when the series’s aesthetic was kind of inspired by wrestling and more creative
It kind of annoys me when people’s fan theories are entirely dependent on genetics. AHEM matpat AHEM. Like if genetics and punnet squares support your theory then it’s good to bring them up but using them as a sole reason to believe “[character] is actually [character]’s dad!” with literally no other evidence, then it’s a bad theory. You do realize it is physically possible for recessive genes to be added to a child right?
so when a certain youtuber’s certain infamous theory about a certain plumber and a certain space princess makes a really outrageous claim that would completely change the entire series (luigi being in love with peach) and the only evidence they have is “it’s technically more likely to happen genetically” it’s a terrible theory
My list of “characters a lot of people want in smash but I really don’t” is something like this:
Porky, Masked Man, Pyramid Head, Bandana Dee and Toad. (there are probably more as well.)
The first three are because of tonal issues and the last two are because they feel like boring and uninteresting characters when there are so many other good picks for characters from their series that would represent them better.
You’ve never truly felt embarrassment unless you’ve went to a bilingual school and said an entire sentence to someone in a language they didn’t understand
My headphones broke so today I watched a youtube video with auto generated captions on… then I realized youtube censors swears when it’s in autogenerated captions. That’s really stupid, if you have no rules against swearing why censor it then? Plus if I was a deaf person I would feel very patronized by something like that
If I had a nickel for each time a post today had an image that’s not in english I’d have two nickels which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice
Adding all four ninja turtles to nick all star brawl would be very uninteresting to me. Just because they’re the main characters doesn’t mean adding all four would represent the series best.
As an example, imagine if soul calibur 4 added luke skywalker and han solo as guest characters instead of darth vader and yoda. It would be a lot less interesting right?
I’m not really a fan of rayquaza returning as a boss. I think for a pokemon boss we should get someone like giovanni with him sending out all of his pokemon individually
The whole “persona 5 fans are always either fans of sega’s yakuza or danganronpa as well” meme is so accurate. Pretty much anyone I talked to irl who has played persona 5 also plays one of those games, and there’s a lot of people like that I know online
I don’t get why people get angry when crossovers add non-main characters or characters that aren’t as “important” in the context of the story. I think crossovers don’t add enough of those characters and, in a very few situations, this goes for smash as well.
Okay I'm sorry, the idea that white kids aren't "allowed" to dress as black panther for halloween or something is cringe. It's just stupid. If black panther's suit was pretty much just an african cultural outfit then we can have a conversation but there's nothing problematic about a kid wearing a costume of a black superhero they look up to. I know his suit likely has inspiration from african cultures, but I don't think that makes it bad.

Smash fans don't realize how lucky we are compared to other fighting games in terms of how little characters get cut each game.
Even as someone who likes Tekken a lot, I'm not sure Kazuya was that good a good choice for the final DLC character. I know this may sound weird, but the fact that heihachi is a mii costume really lessened the impact of the reveal, and it didn't feel as special as getting a new series would. He was, of course, deserving enough though

So apparently characters won’t have side specials in nick all star brawl? To me that kind of comes across as making the game less fun/deep just to avoid a small resemblance to smash bros, but we haven’t really gotten any more reveals related to gameplay so it’s a bit too early to tell. I understand why they did it tho.
The whole “it’s okay for disney to charge 30 dollars for random movies on disney+ because that’s what movie theaters charge” thing is such a bootlicker take it’s not even funny. I hate that idea so much.

If they set an assassins creed game in Japan they should set it in the meiji era and focus on the technology and rapid industrialization of the country to set it apart from the many other games that have a fairly open world and use historical japan as a setting. You could argue that would make it too similar to syndicate but I heavily disagree given the huge difference in cultures.

It kind of annoys me when people get mad that super monkey ball banana mania only has a few sega guest characters. You can absolutely wish there were more, I think that would be cool too, but you were never promised a huge definitive sega crossover game and so it’s weird to get angry when you don’t get one.
Plus, some of the non-sega guest characters are actually pretty cool and fit into the game quite well
If a game has multiple ending, with a lot more work needed to get the good one I’m just beating it as normal and looking it up online.

I saw a meme pointing out how China’s new video game restrictions only apply to online games, meaning developers will probably focus more towards offline single player experiences. And so China, in an attempt to destroy the video game industry, might just save it.

It’s funny how out of all the characters that could have said the “I blame the union” line in mario maker, it’s Toadette… the one people often accuse of being pushed into almost every mario game because of the “mario mandate” and corporate interests

It maybe would have been funny some time else, but that fact that people are sharing the “southerners rebuilding their house in the same place that gets hit by a hurricane every two months” meme now is really insensitive.
Can we seriously stop idealizing people who gather extremely personal details about chris chan and her life under the guise of saying it’s “preserving internet history?” You could argue that the story of kiwi farms’s conflict with her is pretty interesting and deserves to be told to see how bad both parties are, and I agree with that to an extent but still the fact that people gather information about Chris’s childhood, schooling, interests, dislikes, family and more to what is pretty much a historically notable degree is completely unnecessary and really ****ing weird.
I’m certainly not saying anyone should respect or like this horrible human being, but still the amount of coverage on this one life is seriously concerning. The best thing to do is literally to just ignore this person, and people who spend their whole life gathering all these details for literally no reason need to grow up. -
