  • Apparently not long after Sega teased Sonic Adventure 3, they also talked about the possibility of making a Dreamcast Mini... umm... yes, please. I would get so hyped for that and absolutely buy it.

Game Theory has a video that suggests there was cut content related to a Frozen level, where Elsa turns evil and attacks the main characters, like how Elsa was planned to be evil in the first Frozen movie

And for some reason the thumbnail says “Too hot for Disney!”
now that’s clickbait if I’ve ever seen clickbait
Boy have I got a hot take for y’all today:
The way people are comparing N. Sane Trilogy with 3D All Stars is pretty flawed and unfair

(I know someone recently made a post comparing the two and this rant isn’t meant to be attacking that person)

So... Yeah it’s pretty dumb what was missing from 3D All Stars. The lack of Galaxy 2 and 64 DS makes no sense, especially because Nintendo clearly has no plans to rerelease them somewhere else. There’s literally no benefit to keeping them from people, from a business stand point.

But still, N. Sane Trilogy is not miles ahead 3D All Stars. People say it is for two reasons:
    • The price ($40 instead of $60)
    • The games are remastered

Well... the price is a bit understandable to be honest: N. Sane Trilogy has a lot less content than 3D All Stars. It takes only like 5 hours to beat each Crash game, but the Mario games have much more content. It has over double the amount of content as the Crash collection! And remember The crash worlds are not open like Mario’s. They’re still fun, but not open, and not as immersive.

    N. Sane Trilogy also has things that aren’t in the game for no good reason. Why isn’t the original version of each game playable? Why dosen’t it have any sort of gallery or soundtrack player?

And then there’s the “remastered” part... Yeah remastered is honestly just a buzzword here. They’re the same games. Obviously a lot of work went into remastering them, but they’re still games people have already played in the 90s. Don’t treat this collection like the new standard for rereleasing games because the graphics look better

This isn’t to tear into Crash, I love the collection, think it was a great way to revive Crash, and they absolutely made the right call doing what they did. It’s just that it kind of frustrates me when people are quick to jump to Crash, saying it’s alot better for no reason other than “mario runs on just an emulator.” It’s not as simple as that and I do think 3D All Stars is the most bang for your buck

Well, it's two years since N-Sane's Switch release and I can still buy it. So it has one thing over 3D All Stars.

I'd say the only thing that really helps the N. Sane trilogy or even the Spyro one is that they fixed a lot of glaring issues with the games as well. With Crash specifically I rememebr there being some crystals that were damn near impossible to actually get or would glitch out and couldn't be obtained. So 100% the games could be incredibly difficult if not impossible at times and the remaster/makes fixed those issues in general. So good on them for doing so.

But the big underlying factor too is, as said, the content ratio is astronomical. People also need to remember also that Nintendo does NOT like to undervalue their properties. Some hate that but I do understand it. They do recognize the quality of their games (Let's be fair, their game quality track record is incredibly impressive. I won't say they don't ever slip up or make trash at times but the bad eggs are a lot less frequent than the block busters). They don't feel the need to sell them dirt cheap.

Yet even in this collection, I don't even find $20 per game to be all that egregious. If anything, the cost of the originals to the collected works is greatly in Nintendo's favor. The Crash games in original form are not uncommon and hold little to no real notable second hand value. MAYBE 10 bucks each, generally. The original releases for the mario games on this collection? over 100 bucks for all 3. LOOSE.

The 60 dollar price tag for 3 games with great replayability and heaps of content is a fair price, especially to play on a system I can take anywhere.
I’m honestly still pretty surprised there wasn’t any Sonic Schoolhouse references in Mania. Mania seems like the perfect place to have a funny, stupid reference to something like that

Unless it does have a reference to it and it just dosent come up when I google “mania sonic schoolhouse reference”
Am I the only one who isn’t that bothered when fighters pass characters don’t have that many spirits or music tracks? Like, I don’t mind the lack of spirits from Persona games other than 5 and I’m fine without any music tracks from the original Minecraft game

I just wish we got more battle mode tracks. Industrial Quarter and Beat Around the Block would've been perfect. I don't really care about spirits because I can win them from tourneys.
I actually kind of like the Great Cave Offensive stage. As long as you have two players and no ones camping or running away from you or something annoying like that, I actually have fun with it every time I play.

Of course, the stage isn’t intended for two players, so... a few points deducted there I guess
Today I got a video recommended to me. It was the “Super Mario on PS4 meme” but it was called “Its me, Yu Narukami On the Nintendo 3DS!” wha... but... yu narukami is already on the 3DS... uh... ok... not how the meme works...
Honestly I think it would be hilarious if Tingle was in Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity, and they gave an explanation for why there’s an island named after him. As long as it’s a stupid reason
Feels like every 5 seconds I’m obsessed with a new videogame series. Now it’s Final Fantasy, before it was Sonic, before that was Street Fighter, and then before that it Zelda, and it’s goes on...

You ever played the Ganbare Goemon/Mystical Ninja games? The games are very underrated and the N64 games are some of the best games on the console along with Nintendo and Rare's games.

You play as these 4 ninjas Goemon, Ebisumaru, Sasuke, and Yae and you try to stop these badguys in the different games like: A foreign general with a army of guys dress up in bunny suits, a transgender nun from the future who is Ebisumaru's descendant, two foreigners who are stage perfomers that want to turn Japan into their stage, ect.

You also get into this giant robot called Impact and fight other giant robots like it's Power Rangers it's really cool. Here is a taste of Impact goodness:

Most of the games are side scrollers while some are 3D platformers with dungeons and towns that play like a mix between Mario and Zelda.

We only got 4 games in the west being: Legend of the Mystical Ninja/Ganbare Goemon 1 (SNES), Mystical Ninja: Starring Goemon/Ganbare Goemon 5 (N64), Mystical Ninja: Starring Goemon (GB), Goemon's Great Adventure/Ganbare Goemon 6 (N64). The Game Boy game was bad but the N64 and SNES games are masterpieces. There was over 30 games released in Japan almost all of which never left the land of the rising sun.

I highly recommend checking this series out as if you haven't already as you won't regret it. ;)

Actually, a while ago I emulated Legend of the Mystical Ninja and I loved it, although haven’t beaten it. I also played using the keyboard controls... which is definitely not the ideal way to play most games. At the time I just didn’t know you could use Joycons for emulators, so I should probably play it again soon, using a controller, along with the other Ganbare Goemon games, using fan translations

Unfortunately my computer cannot handle N64 emulators without glitches so I can’t exactly play any of the N64 games, but I do really want to.

And as for the series itself, I’ve always liked the weirdness of the setting and characters, although I don’t really know much about it.

I really do want to check it out, but it’s unfortunately somewhat difficult for me to play the whole series right now. But one day as my videogame collection expands I will probably get an N64 and SNES and actually be able to play the original cartridges. Hopefully soon...
    Thanks for the suggestion btw

I remember seeing the Mystical Ninja: Starring Goemon logo instead of the series logo when they revealed the Goemon Mii costume. Hopefully that's a sign that down the line Konami will bring the N64 games to Switch Online.
Tales of Symphonia feels more like you’re playing a mid 2000s TV Y7 cartoon like Avatar or Teen Titans (The latter, mostly thanks to Lloyd’s voice) and less like a complicated, story driven JRPG

It’s because of this that it’s always felt weird seeing the characters with full-on anime designs instead of how they look in the game

Imagine how it feel looking at Lloyd if he gets in Smash =P

But which Teen Titans character had the same voice as Lloyd? I'm guessing Robin?

    RetrogamerMax
It's funny to think about since if Lloyd get's in both Robin and Starfire's voice actors would be in the game being both Lloyd and Viridi respectively.
So apparently a site said “Nintendo reportedly argues joycon drift isn’t a real problem or hasn’t caused anyone any inconvenience”

I don’t buy that, though. Nintendo has already apologized for joycon drift and is repairing it. Besides, it says “reportedly” so in taking it with a grain of salt

Does anyone have any information on this? What source originally reported it, and do you think it’s likely this happened?
The only smash character it makes sense to say has a toxic playstyle is Piranha Plant... and not the reason people usually say “toxic playstyle”
    Janx_uwu
    Janx_uwu
I'm not even sure what a toxic playstyle really is. I guess it's like a way to play the game disrespectfully? Even then it's kinda subjective, you could say any character is toxic if you didn't like them enough.
And just curious, why piranha plant?

The Side B, and I guess Joker’s side B too...

It’s because they use poison. It’s a stupid pun
Smash fans only have three jokes when talking about Steve:
    • Smash fans love miners
    • Steve can do weird things with blocks
    • You’re going to Minecraft
If you want any original, funny jokes about something else from the Smash community, you’re out of luck
Steve is NOT too recent to have an influence on the game industry.
Minecraft was released 11 years ago. In the gaming world that’s:

    • The difference between the year Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario 64 were released
    • When the Wii was still getting support from Nintendo
    • The year another Smash fighter, Bayonetta, debuted
    • The amount of years between the Gamecube and Wii U
    And a LOT more
I’m not to keen on Sora in Smash, but not for the reason you might think,

I don’t want him because of the sheer amount of hate he would get. That would basically start a “Smash fans civil war” worse than we’ve ever seen. There’s already way too many people who call die-hard Sora supporters “nostalgia blind” or “just people who want to mess up Smash by adding things that aren’t from games” and the amount of arguing that would ensue honestly scares me.
It would be worse than Byleth, worse than pokemon sword and shield, and worse than paper mario. That would probably be the most frustrating debate the Smash community has ever had... And that’s saying alot

I just think a floaty sword character with a fire spell would be annoying. But other than that I don't mind him.

I can only think of a few characters that would cause backlash.

Fire Emblem rep (we've had enough)
Gen 8 rep (because pokeyman bad)
Jonesy (because everyone hates Fortnite for fun)

I'm not worried about Sora getting massive backlash unless Disney characters were to be included with him. Then I could maybe see some backlash coming.
    Janx_uwu
    Janx_uwu
Every character will get backlash really. No way to avoid, might as well choose not to care. I mean, I didn't know how people would be mad at Steve when I saw the Live but here we are.
Okay, I’m inventing a new phrase, which I call “Newcomer Daze”

This is to describe the weird feeling we get when a strange, somewhat gimmicky character is released in Smash, and they feel out of place.

We’ve all had the feeling before, and I can practically guarantee everyone’s feeling it with Steve. Think about when Hero or Min Min were put in Smash and they felt out of place with their gimmicks. Even Joker, Terry, Byleth, and to some extent, BK felt a little off at first, but eventually the feeling went away.

And that’s the thing about the feeling, it goes away. The DLC feels like a part of Smash now. Sure we can still remember the newcomer daze we’ve had, but we don’t feel that way anymore.

Steve feels like he won’t fit in, but soon enough we won’t be able to imagine Smash without him
I really don’t think there’s any reason for Steve’s spirit board to include characters from other Microsoft games.
Terry’s made sense because SNK games are tightly connected, and Terry is more popular in crossovers than his own game.
It would just seem strange to me
Wait... Isn’t Steve now the first character in smash who debuted on PC? That’s pretty cool
    R
    RetrogamerMax
I think so. Steve is also technically the first 100% western origin character to make it into Smash as Diddy, K. Rool, and Dark Samus are all owned by Nintendo and Banjo & Kazooie was once owned by Nintendo when they had half a steak in Rare.
    Bowser D.X
    Bowser D.X
Would the MSX (Snake) count as a PC?
My thought process during the reveal:

A fight on battlefield? Wait why’s Terry here? Is it another fighting game character? Scorpion? Sol Badguy?...

Oh, I guess not... Wait, Sonic just KO’d Mario... is it a Sonic character!?!

Oh... well Mario’s in a dark area now... hold on, darkness, Mario... King Boo!!?!

    HOLD UP... rattling noises?! Geno!?

WAIT THAT WAS A MINECRAFT ZOMBIE GROAN HOLY SHI-
