Where the hell else are you gonna put 80s content, but with Nintendo rep? At least assuming this game would be done on the weird middle-ground factor of Smash's 3P content. I doubt Pac-Man would get as much priority when Namco has such strong ties to the PS1 and PS2, and 80s rep in general doesn't make sense for a game targeted at PS (or worse yet Xbox) fans who likely would've only gotten into gaming in the late 90s or later, but adding Nintendo content already has an inherent "go out of your comfort zone" factor and inate headline drawing ability that you may as well play into to represent something it'd be hard to have otherwise.
