i saw an article title about "splatoon 3's greeting splatfest" and i concerned that they were going to do the war on christmas in splatoon.

It's always funny how, whenever a gaming myth about "big nasty corporation forces meager nice corporation to make bad games!" gets debunked, the notion doesn't shift to "oh, we were wrong, hopefully someone else wants to make that game then!" but rather "Maybe it's OK to force people to make games they don't want to"
My only exposure to "The Brave Little Toaster" is the Worthless song and that one screenshot of the clown - and honestly, I love how the Worthless song randomly cuts to a fourth-wall-breaking Crazy Eddie parody without cutting out the somber music. I'm not sure if I like that in a "this is stupid" way or a "this is clever" way, I'd probably have to watch the movie for context.

Even though people tend to say it's the worst one, Jenny's super in NASB2 might be one of my favourites. I just love how cool and collected she is in the attack.

Since we're talking about bad Sakurai takes, I really wish I mentioned his weird "corporations are developers' friends!" video when it came out.
I wanted to try and make alternate Final Smashes, all cinematic, for each character in SSBU, but I gave up. Felt like sharing my 3 personal favourites from the batch anyway
DONKEY KONG - Wrecking Crew. Donkey Kong climbs to the top of a building as a giant, then throws a giant barrel downwards that rips off the front of the building as it rolls down (caught fighters can be seen hanging on to window-sills), once it rolls away the building falls to the ground. Downwards launch angle.
PICHU - My Pokemon Ranch. Each fighter is rendered as a polygonal character from My Pokemon Ranch and accepts an offer to play with a group of Pichus in the ranch, who accidentally create a thunderstorm in excitement. Upwards launch angle
MR. GAME & WATCH - Turtle Bridge. Each fighter floats on water as Mr. Game & Watch steps on them one-by-one, propelling them towards an octopus’ tentacles. Downwards launch angle

I just watched Athena P's Imagination Movers video, and I am absolutely in love with the fact that one of this show's characters is the stereotypical kids' show "Boring Brown Suit Business Man" who is obsessed with paperwork and white bread and stuff, but they treat those interests as completely valid.
I think grey training grids are actually really cool aesthetically. I probably wouldn't think that way if I were into tradfighters, but still
I call these 3 games "The Pokemon World Trilogy", because they had way too many adverts in the unauthorised Pokemon magazine I used to read as a kid.
I honestly do think NASB 1 has better graphics than NASB 2. Like, NASB 2 obviously has more effort, but NASB 1 looks way more colourful and silly, almost like action figures.
One of the secret games in Atari 50 being Basic Math is very funny.
It is such a good thing Sakurai got mad over Subspace cutscenes being uploaded to YouTube, WOL with full cutscenes would be the worst ****. I love me some cartoon goofball pathos (see the Pixar pfp), but I do not have the willpower to watch a teary-eyed, vengeful Bowser Jr. strike a badass pose while confronting a brainwashed Ryu over Boom Boom and Pom Pom being turned into a PNG in the destroyed remains of an Animal Crossing village without exploding from cringe.
I find jumpscares hysterically funny. Not just the parody or mascot stuff, even if it's some nightmarish lovecraftian blood muscle creature, having it flash on screen is just hilarious. -
