I love B-roll. I cannot put my finger on it, but TV show, game, or movie footage with unrelated sound playing over it is just a vibe. I always loved TV show intros with no original content aside from the music, I think I had such a high tolerance for Mr. Enter as an edgy teen because I liked how the B-roll didn't match up with this voice, and I loved staying idle on the Mega Drive Collection PS3 menu because it showed the intros of the games on a tiny screen.

Counter Strike is easily the most notable fan project in gaming, that goes without saying, but I'd argue a far off but significant second as going to Neave Pac-Man. That game basically singlehandedly allowed Pac-Man to survive through the late 00s and early 2010s.
Fully-animated 2D characters on semi-simplistic 3D backgrounds is peak graphics.
