How often does the EAC thread get updated? I'm planning to participate once Peach gets started and I'm trying to write down my ideas ahead of time.

I feel like the idea of "multiverse between every single fictional world ever" is being woefully misused, not just in official media but also fanfiction - everybody wants to have their favourite heroes team up against an omnicidal threat, but I just want to watch a Star Warsian immigrate to the Pokémon dimension and ensue wacky fish-out-of-water shenanigans.

I've done the music list for my Captain Falcon stage submission on EAC tomorrow in advance, and I originally had a licensed game song on it, labled under the TOP SECRET name Melee used for GoldenEye content - the only reason I rejected it was because it didn't fit the tone of the stage aesthetically, just the gameplay of the stage.

I think I'll be lax on licensed game content. As long as the game was developed or published worldwide by a studio involved with Smash (or is Disney related) and the content wouldn't make the source material instantly recognisable (no Big Apple 3AM since it samples the TMNT theme, sorry 'bout that), it should be fine, so long as you rename the content when needed

We're submitting Luigi and Ness' stages and echoes! Any game owned by an IP holder directly involved in Smash is allowed, even if it isn't directly in Smash yet or a completely different series from the character it's attached to, so yes, you can submit that Sans echo or stage for the funny.

I like how the Smash Wiki has tournament legality paragraphs on every single stage page, just in case you can't figure out why people don't play on 3D Land in tournaments

Hot take: Live action How to Train Your Dragon is not a terrible idea. Live action remakes of animated movies are crap generally, but a story about human vikings befriending non-talking dragons feels utterly perfect for the medium of live action. Will it be good though? No, certainly not.

I never really realised how few colours there are until I started doing Smash alt lists with 16+ costumes

Imagine what Subspace Emissary would look like if Nintendo bought Rare - it's hard enough to take it seriously with Mr. Game & Watch and Wario there, now imagine if a character like Banjo or Conker who's entire world is designed on a fundamental level around cheeky British humour was there as well.

When I was a kid, I brought my 3DS to a youth activity group I was in - for some reason, in my infinite wisdom, the game I chose to show off and brag about to my fellow youths was - of all things - Game & Watch Gallery 2....

It worked. IIRC I was banned from bringing my 3DS again because everyone else was so enamoured by Donkey Kong Jr. Parachute and Wario Helmet (I knew the secret code) to the point of not doing the activities, but I can't remember for certain. Could be my mind playing tricks on me.

I don't really get why people call Mario 64 a 2D to 3D transition at all, let alone a good one. It wasn't going for the same style of gameplay as the 2D Mario games.

I had a dream where Dreamworks made Home 2 as a 2D animated movie and it's title was "Home r-slur". The film had no backgrounds, voice acting, music, plot, or props (though it did have colours); the animation looked like it was done with permanent marker; and Oh was the only character. Despite literally just being a cartoon alien dancing around for an hour, it managed to offend everybody, even those who weren't offended by the title

DriDim players RN

One thing I'd advise when submissing a season for DriDim is to include a character who would otherwise drown in voting in your first 3.

I think the reason why the "car scene" is so common in CGI character movies is because 1. you don't have to animate the legs and - depending on the character's size - hands; and 2. drivers generally don't make eye contact when talking to their passengers, meaning the actor also doesn't have to.

Not an animation expert so I can't say for sure though.

I saw the Little Joel video about the Nostalgia Critic pausing after all his sentences and now I'll never unsee it. I'm not gonna watch the entire Nostalgia Critic videography to confirm this, but I did some research and found out something interesting by selecting random lines from a set of videos from a few years (basically just clicking around and looking for a line that doesn't involve making a face as part of the joke)...
