I was HEAVILY considering making Miis a part of the base roster, mainly because of all the fun we could have for Mii Costumes. Expect some sort of character customization job when the thread gets further along (said custom character would be an additional slot on top of how many other fighters we end up having)
I think I'm going to split up Smash From Scratch's gameplay vote into two polls - One for general gameplay (moveset structure, wavedashing, etc) and one handling how to do Assists (Fraymakers-style or Assist Trophies).
Smash from Scratch is now live, boasting a character submission job. Come on in and contribute!

Alright, so I've decided I'm probably gonna do the Smash reboot thread. Hoping to get that up over the weekend (preferably tomorrow), but in the meantime, here's what I'm planning to do with it (in the current moment)
- I've decided the first six "locked-in" fighters. Nobody will be surprised by them, and I based them off Nintendo's current image.
- Unlike All-Star Strife, there will be a roster size job. Expect this to be one of the first, alongside the first fighter/stage submissions.
- Third-parties/indies won't become part of the equation right away - I want to get a reasonably sized number of Nintendo content beforehand.
- Multimedia content will be allowed, but probably not in the form of fighters or stages. Sorry, Bluster Kong fans. Music/collectibles will be allowed, though.
- I'm not really thinking about DLC too much at the current moment, but I'm expecting it to be similar to All-Star Strife's.
- The thread itself will be named "Smash from Scratch", but "in-universe", the game would just be called Super Smash Bros. In other words, no name job.
I'm planning on starting another creation thread soon-ish, but I'm having trouble deciding between a few ideas. If any of these would interest people, let me know!
- Crash Bandicoot platfighter
- Sonic platfighter (I think Janx did one of these before, but this would be its own thing rather than a continuation)
- A mega-crossover dungeon crawler/MOBA game (kinda like DriDim... but yknow, for dungeon crawlers/MOBAs)
- A "Smash Reboot" thread, where we reinvent Smash from the ground up with little influence from previous games
- A reboot of the old OC Battle Royale thread that Infinity Sorcerer did a while back
- Pizza Tower doing really well
- Wario Land 3 and the first WarioWare coming to Switch
- Antonblast on the way
So yeah, Direct happened. Only gonna comment on things I care about.
- Splatoon 3 DLC is kinda underwhelming - Having Inkopolis Square is cool, but the tease at the DLC campaign doesn't do much to aleviate my worries of it feeling too samey to the Octo Expansion.
- Advance Wars FINALLY getting a release date is probably my favorite announcement overall.
- I was kinda pessimistic about GB Online but having that be in the base Online package and saving GBA for the Expansion Pass is actually a half-decent way to go about it. I'm impressed, Nintendo.
- MK8D getting new characters is rad, and I LOVE the Yoshi's Island track.
I've achieved enlightenment. Tuning in and out of the Direct is probably the way I'm gonna handle them going forward.

I'm gonna be dropping the term "platform fighter" during a presentation in my game design class today. Time to see how based my classmates are.
I’m probably not gonna watch this Direct live - I’ll just page through the reveals once it’s done.

Just did a small write-up for a Mega Man rework. Open to feedback but I feel like this would address a lot of my problems with the character.
- Jab, Ftilt, and Nair are no longer the Mega Buster. Rather...
- Jab becomes a standard 3-hit combo. Mega Man throws two punches followed by a close range buster shot.
- Filt is a roundhouse kick
- Nair is a flying kick (inspired by mvc of all things)
- The F-Smash becomes a non-buster/projectile weapon. Unsure as to what exactly
- Neutral Special becomes the Mega Buster, firing a single lemon forward (which doesn't deal any knockback until much higher percents). Mashing it lets you walk around while firing like Banjo's Neutral Special, but holding it lets you charge it up while moving around.
- Side Special is similar to Sora's Neutral Special, letting you use 3/4 Robot Master weapons in a cycle. this is where Metal Blade and Crash Bomber would go
- Up and Down special stay the same because honestly they're fine
Just realized Steve is eligble for the guest roster in Hasbro GNF, since Nerf has a Minecraft line. Gonna stick with my Red submission, though - Funny bird go brrrr, and I wanna design a new moveset for Red based on GNF's moveset structure rather than just ripping from Steve's Smash incarnation.
