The Hardcore Chores theme in NASB does not feel like Rocko music at all, sounds more fit for a TMNT or Danny Phantom stage, but I think I love it for that - I vibe with ill-fit licensed game music.

F in chat for all the Captain Toad fans who have been trying to convince people for half a decade that he isn't the same character as Toad having to watch him almost certainly get composited with Toad.
Even if the DiC shows or LA movie didn't exist, I'd still think Isekai-ing the Mario movie would be necessary - mostly because the Mario universe is really weird in a way very few other fictional worlds are, and using an outsider protagonist makes exposition a whole lot easier for newcomers, especially kids. Not to mention that Mario as a character design is kinda ill-fit for the universe he's in, so may as well just play into that.
With that bandage painlessly peeled off, tomorrow is going to be a very dangerous day.
I actually really like Chris Pratt's Mario voice - there's a very slight pre-Martinet Brooklyn tint to it.

Since this teaser is a Nintendo Direct and the description says it "includes" the teaser, I'm assuming we'll get some extra info beyond that? New actors or characters? Synopsis?

While I was a little disappointed with Mario's character list for Drifting Dimensions, I'm very pleased with the Muppets' - it's still the 5 standard characters (Kermit, Piggy, Gonzo, Fozzie, Animal) with a 6th slightly-out-of-left-field pick who's still within the main cast (Rowlf), but - even if I'm bragging about my own submission here - I feel like having the entire Electric Mayhem instead of Animal alone really makes the character list stand out without sacrificing a big character.

If I was in charge of NSO, I would take every possible chance to make this title's prescence on GBA NSO a reality. I would pay for negotiations out of my own pocket; lock the GBA games behind a third membership tier; sacrifice Wario Land 4 and Golden Sun to reduce the app's filesize, cancel the Mother 3 localisation at 98% completion to save money, completely remove the Switch's video recording function to please Dreamworks, anything for this dank meme. This is not a joke.
Honestly, I think movie Mario will look better when we see him officially - the McDonald's image appears to have been either taken in dark lighting or printed improperly compared to the poster, giving him a Brawl-like appearance.

Imagine if the Expand-A-Franchise thread was a real SSBU expansion and there were no Scarlet & Violet or Legends Arceus spirits but we did get Dashing Super Guy.
One thing I really wish a platform fighter would do is not make the Final Destination clone stage the ultimate final super cool techno-magic stage. Give that to the Kalos clone or something, and make FD the grassy plain or hi-tech non-specifically-Asian city.
I don't like the "subverted kids' show trope", but I really like Don't Hug Me, I'm Scared - mostly because the gruesome imagery isn't really the scary part, as much as the implications of the lyrics and characters - and the grizzly scenes are moreso just a prompt to get the viewer to rewatch those earlier scenes from an adult lens. I think watching #3 as a 12 year old was the first time I ever recognised an allegory.

Honestly, I was hoping Illumination's Mario designs would lean more towards Illumination's style. Always felt they were really good at making 2D-esque characters in 3D.

I'm actually kinda tempted to buy NKR3 - I know I won't like it nearly as much as CTR, but hey, I've got decent benefits so why not?
I think "submit a franchise for adults" and "submit a franchise for preschoolers" are both event jobs I want to do for the racing thread, though they probably won't be the next two (especially if Muppets wins the current job). Revisiting previous IPs will also happen at some point, and I also want to do items (though those would be original and retroactively added to base game)
