The character gimmicks I like in (platform) fighting games are when it's just the way they're shaped or move - like a vehicle/mech fighter, quadrupedal fighter, serpentine fighter, wheelchair-bound fighter, so on.
I'm not opposed to gameplay gimmicks, but I feel they can be risky for game-based crossovers.
