I feel that Ren & Stimpy's Up B and Down B should've had their themes swapped in NASB, a fart makes more sense for an explosive recovery and the History Eraser Button makes more sense for a risky but rewarding kill move.
Honestly I don't really see any reason to care about a future Smash - the series is turning (has turned?) from a platform fighting game into "hey look! he did the thing he does in the game!", and with the emphasis on hype and recency my retro and obsucre most wanteds have no chance in hell (and even if they did they'd be done dirty by source material accuracy)
I feel if Smash was to bring back custom moves, they should go all-out insane and boss-fight tier with them, stuff that could never fly in competitive play.
Skylanders would have a much better reputation today if Spyro wasn't in it.
It's almost unhuman how much restraint Toby Fox has with Undertale's popularity - sure, he's not exactly Bill Watterson, but he could be doing brand deals and crossovers left and right if he wanted to.
If Diddy Kong Racing was revived, I honestly don't think Banjo and Conker OR Dixie and Tiny should return, it should be all original characters and Diddy, more in a self-contained "Diddy Kong Racing world" than the "Donkey Kong world" or "Rare world".
I wish Nintendo wasn't so scared of having multiple series of a single genre nowdays - though the racing game I'm interested in isn't F-Zero but rather Excitebike.
I really like the retro Namco themes in Pac-Man 99 but god are they overpriced.

People make a lot of fuss over Tiny's Paon redesign, and justifiably so, but Klump got it just as bad IMO

If I was to try a traditional fighter, it's probably be Them's Fightin' Herds, I like the artstyle; I like playing quadrupeds; and it suppisedly has a really good tutorial.
The character gimmicks I like in (platform) fighting games are when it's just the way they're shaped or move - like a vehicle/mech fighter, quadrupedal fighter, serpentine fighter, wheelchair-bound fighter, so on.
I'm not opposed to gameplay gimmicks, but I feel they can be risky for game-based crossovers.
You know a Nintendo series that could work if turned into a crossover?
Get all the non-sapient creatures and enemies, put them in a pet sim, and you've got a masterpiece

I've been playing Kaze and the Wild Masks lately, really enjoying it, but god the backgrounds in this game look empty - might just be a subconcious thing since it was DKC inspired and DKC has really elaborate backgrounds, but still.
I kinda miss alternate versions of games - like you could buy the latest Sonic game on DS and get a completely different experience from the PS3 version.

I always liked how in Bubsy 1 and 2, Bubsy was an absolute coward who succeeded not by overcoming his fear and ego, but in spite of it. Everything after that played up the narciness a lot more while downplaying the cowardice and made him a rather unpleasant character.

I feel that for a long time crossovers (especially on TV) have got away with low quality on virtue of sheer novelty value/wow factor, but with crossovers becoming the norm there's gonna be a much higher bar to clear.
