  • Cooldown only comes into play if you whiff a grab. Not something I want to count on as my saving grace.

    Even then it's nothing remarkable.
I beat JuneBug in the one set we had. At first he was very defensive and i was losing but then on the last match he went mega mega aggro on me(like trela) and i won.

Zucco i went 1-1 with because the tv had to be used for a tourney match. Zucco is not as good at JuneBug imo but bother are SUPER good.

RJ i played too. Hes a very nive guy and he knows what hes doing but he had ZERO exp vs samus so i 2-0ed him. He CPed castle seige on me. Is that a good lucario stage?

From all the lucarios ive faced i think it goes like this

    Lee Martin
    JuneBug
    Trela
    Zucco(could be tied with trela)
    Rocket Trainer
    RJ
I don't see why there would be. It's just a regular reverse utilt... buffered. You could reverse utilt in melee fine, why would they change it?
I don't see why you would. It should work just like a reverse ftilt or fsmash, I'd believe.
Spoiler for utilt: It's probably our most amazing wonderbox aside from Fsmash. It will always protect you. I always used to be wary about its protection when I saw the animation, but it's really amazing. It covers our entire body for a ridiculous amount of range vertically and horizontally. It's like a rainbow of protection that overlaps our entire body.
Ha! Thanks! You know, I used to have a Bill Nye avatar before this one. I love that guy...
    Lulz

Maybe one day, but I'm not fiending it at the moment. Just happy to have my purple at last
That I did, I was just checking SuSa's profile since he hasn't being on for a while (rl moving johns), and I just happened to notice it, seems really interesting actually, if that works then It would make techchasing some characters easier/better.
sadly yes i know o.o every girl likes googles, + 80% of males like goggles. 15% like the headband, 4% like trucker chu, and the oddball 1% likes naked chu. its sickening how many people like the goggles, i think that the goggles have the highest percent of use by its character of any of the characters, other then maybe dark mk
lol im not afraid of dead things. im afraid of death. the thought of me not being able to move and everything just pitch black...it destroys me. its cost me tourney sets XD no johns but i gotta take care of this problem.
if you played a bowser there that was me, and this is weird i was just reading your lucario playstyle thread, you inspired me to pick him up xD
I don't think they have to win, it sounds like it just needs to show a player how to play the character properly.

    So Ksizzle would work.
What vids would you recommend to put up in it's place?

Lee vs Kirk is somewhere on youtube, I'm iffy on June vs Meep, while it is two high level players Meep never 0-death'd Lucario can kept screwing up the CG. Compare that with the MK match in the set and the difference is clear.

I'm just not sure what would be a good replacement for that vid.
Well for planking, I'm not 100% sure whether he can deal with it or not. Like practically within the human realm, it's much easier for Lucario to "get in" on the planker compared to the planker playing 100% correct (basically easier for the planker to misspace slightly or misjudge something than it is for Lucario to just keep trying to hit him and succeed.) When done near perfect/absolutely perfect, Lucario cannot answer planking effectively enough to stop the other person, at least IMO (You can ask Lee if you want, I think he might agree that once MK gets planking down to a "t" that the gaps available to punish/stop it become near non existent for Lucario). In the worst case scenario for the planker if he is extremely good is that he will eat an aerial (most likely Dair or Fair from behind him), either SDI out of Dair and punish or eat either aerial, tech the side of the stage, and shuttle loop/punish. From there, he can either attempt to edgeguard Lucario or resume planking depending on where Lucario ends up. Also what can happen is that say Lucario tries to Dair. The MK can SDI out of it and just Uair him every time or do Nair. I think that unless Lucario is SUPER beefed up, that he does more % with Uair than Lucario does with the first part of Dair. Nair certainly does more % than the first hit of Dair.

As for air planking, specifically Wario, it really depends on multiple factors. There are some stages where Lucario can deal with the camping because the layout hinders it enough to where Lucario has reasonable shots to stop it. However, even on a few neutrals airplanking for Wario is powerful enough against Lucario that Wario can dominate him there sadly. For example, Lylat Cruise is one such stage where I don't think realistically Lucario can stop it. The layout favors Wario too much there for air planking. Even Snake who usually can take Wario on neutrals struggles there almost as bad as Brinstar. Smashville is similar, but definitely not as strong. I'd say it's still in Wario's favor, but it's manageable for Lucario. Battlefield I'm not sure, like in theory it should be inbetween Smashville and Lylat for Wario, but I've rarely faced a Lucario on that stage and the few times I have I haven't attempted to camp him probably because they were so long ago before I camped people more mainstream. Lylat though I am positive about. I've played Lee there a few times, one of them in teams where it was me and him at the end, and I would get a fair lead and start running. Even he said afterwards that he doesn't think Lucario can catch up to Wario realistically on stages like that.

For CP's, there are also a few stages where Lucario cannot handle it well. A few that stand out to me are Pictochat and Japes. Pictochat, if it was completely flat the entire time, would be like FD but slightly worse for Lucario. The problem is that literally almost every transformation there favors Wario and either makes running away easier or the transformation gets in Lucario's way enough where under those circumstances Wario can get away while running where normally it would be more difficult. Japes, if it is legal, is just as bad as Lylat is. Wario can not only camp very high in the air, he can also hide under the water and it's very hard for Lucario to deal with. Even if Wario doesn't go high in the air or under water, the layout and length of the stage is favorable to Wario even if he just tries to camp the harder and less effective ways.
Hey phi1... just about your movement analysis stuff. you said "dtilt has some IASA iirc." its actually more than just some. the entire movement where lucario pulls his leg back after striking with his foot can be canceled into another fast move like Utilt or jab. its virtually only a few frames after the hitbox disappears. making it have almost no cooldown lag. sorry if you already knew this.... just found it today and saw it was useful for early percent combo's and other stuff like that..
The main reason for that is actually pretty much just because I've never been able to beat a Lucario in tourney.
