The knee's power wasn't greatly reduced, though I thought that at first too. I talked to Magus and he pointed out it still kills at about 80%, it just doesn't do much KB at low percents.

The Knee is quite a delicate to balance move given that it is one of the few horizontal kill aerials attached to the second fastest running character. I played Kupo's set back when he was making it and for one update they changed the knee to a 2 frame window. It felt pretty good and wasn't ez-mode but it was a little overpowered with the old knockback.

I also feel that with the current reverse-knee hitbox overlaps the front hitbox more than it should making it harder to get that front section of the knee the only thing that hits the opponent during the 1 frame window.

My vote is a 2-frame window with a conservative hitbox and the current damage.

Taken from SDM's frame data. That's a 16 frame sweetspot, compared to Brawl's 1.

Didn't we increase the sweetspot length?

and how do you know that that entire hitbox duration is for the sweetspot?

Ah plum, B moves do not give full control of your character, and is risky off edge. 64 falcon was so 1dimensional, he was more renowned in melee. Which falcon player would swap a good knee for an unnecessary up b? And if UP-b is where our power lies now, then shouldn't the knee keep a decent hitbox to compensate for its lacking power?
Def does not kill at 80%, unless you are off stage/DI. For me, a 120% knee from mid FD never kills, 100% from edge usually does not kill, 150% from opposite end does not even get close to killing

What's this incoherent SSB64 talk? Who knows.

Up B is a different kind of combo finisher. It finishes vertical combos, while the knee finishes horizontal combos.

The knee's power isn't lacking considering how applicable it is and the easy hitboxes it has.

I didn't really see anything wrong with having the initial knee KB and hitbox, but made reversible.

Falcons UpB grab range is completely ridiculous, it goes completely through Lucas's Dsmash even. Not that I'm saying it needs to be removed, I just think it's weird how big it is.

That's the total for both sweetspot and non-sweet-spot, I believe.

No it isn't. That is the whole move including flub. There is a flub in melee, you just don't see it that often

Yeah, in Melee the easiest way to hit with the flub if full hop fast falling it. Although it's really easy to land it in Melee compared to Brawl+ or Brawl.

And btw, personally, I would prefer a great KoJ over a great falcon dive.

hi falcon fans. I kinda stopped playing CF ages ago, so if anyone wants to write an actual guide; go ahead, I'm probably never gonna update this one again.

the thing is his vertical grab range is very broken, in 64 it was good

It's no Wiztruck, but I like it for its speed. It's a surprise move, if anything, while on the ground, and a move that makes you wish you had Wiztruck, when used from the air. Unfortunately, it can't spike like Wiztruck, because it goes so much further downwards, and doesn't restore your double jump.

how do you beat ics as falcon

every time i play b+ i do really good agaisnt everybody (at tournies, not random friends that come over to my house lul) except for one IC main who i just cant figure out how to get around all the stupid **** he does, and i get 2-4 stocked

then i go some other random char, like mario or something and i 2-3 stock him so its not a skill gap, is this a really bad matchup or am i just doing it wrong

basically you want to Target Nana at all times till she dies. She has a bad shield (although I don't think its actually her Shield per say, but rather her stupidity) so She gets hit by A lot. Falcon Kick works really well against them. Knock Nana away then Proceed to grab Popo and wreck his face. Although I will say it is a bad match up just like it was in Melee.

He's viable in tournaments I think and thats what matters I dont care if hes top tier I just dont want him to be extremely unviable like in vBrawl.

Many of captain falcons setups come from grabs but his grab range is so small is it possible for that to be changed yet? or should I just being using different setups if so whats a good one approach with sh nair?
