I've got $100 worth in Best Buy gift cards saved up. For such an occassion. >D

[EDIT]

And just called my Best Buy in Edmonton, taking pre-orders for both Deluxe and Normal versions. Sometimes it's awesome to be Canadian.

Only $100 from Best Buy gift cards? Try $250 from only one gift card (gotta love birthdays).

The gift card basically made the basic Wii U package $50 and the premium package $100, with some spare money to buy one or two games.

Niceee, I wish I wasn't paying the full price lol.

I'm still trying to decide what game I should get if any or if NintendoLand and old Wii games will hold me off for a bit.

Sunshine was mediocre. I don't hate it like some people but I can't call it amazing because it really wasn't. They tried a lot of new things with that game which I greatly admire but a lot of them just really didn't work for me. I enjoyed the main hubworld of the plaza. That was very fun to just mess around in.

It's really just taste mostly. I think Galaxy 2 is one of the very best games I've ever played, but I'm really hoping that Nintendo goes more in the direction of 64 and Sunshine with this next game. I'd love to have a massive hubworld like Peach's Castle from 64 again. I don't want a Galaxy 3.

Nintendoland is only good if you have family or friends to play it with. So if you don't see and play with those people on a regular basis, then you might want to consider purchasing a Wii U game.

Also, I am wondering if the Wii U also comes with composite cables or will it support them. (And sell them seperately, worst case scenario.) Because my TV doesn't have HDMI support.

I liked Sunshine a lot. I never got around to collecting all the shine sprites. But then again Super Mario 64 was the only game where I collected all the Power Stars. When they announce a 3D Mario I'm definitely getting a Wii U, or a new Zelda, or a new Smash Bros, whichever comes first.

I am so jealous of my friend. He gets to beta test the Wii U. What bugs me is that he never told me how he got selected.

U would imagine telling me about the device in general would be against the rules, but not telling me how he got in?

Probably cause it is still early, I thought the graphics were a bit rigid looking. Especially the judge. Lip movement looks kinda bad too. Phoenix looking buff or just fat compared to his earlier days?

In Zelda's defense, there were easier and more natural ways of resetting the controller than that stupid d-pad trick. For example, go to first person mode and switch out. Going in first person recalibrated and it took a second to go in and out of FP mode.

I have no idea on why the article brags about the dungeon being bigger than Hyrule field. Compared to more recent title Hyrule field is pretty tiny. And had less to do in it than AlttP did.

People will always love to reference OoT, they are too attached to it. While I understand, as OoT is the game that I played the most in my entire life. Which I always praised as the best Zelda ever, and would always try to compare it to any other game of its genre.

Luckily, I learnt to appreciate other Zelda games, each game is its own masterpiece. Majora's Mask, The Wind Waker, Skyward Sword. I need to finish Twilight Princess, I still haven't gotten the opportunity to.

Anyway, for me now, the best Zelda games are Skyward Sword and The Wink Waker followed by Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess. But of course, OoT will always be a classic that can't be forgotten by many people, cinluding myself.

I think they also like to compare the size of things to Hyrule Field from OoT because every Zelda fan know its full size by heart, and can work as a "universal ruler" for Zelda games. Bah, I don't know. :p

Okay, I understand the fanboyish need to constantly talk about OoT for LoZ fans but I'm saying from a technological perspective the having an over world bigger than Hyrule field isn't impressive. At all.

If they really wanted to brag about what the Wii U could do they sure as hell shouldn't have used a fourteen year old game as a comparison.

Well, I wouldn't think too much about it. This is from Wii U Daily after all. They're just a site that wants hits, so they usually post rumors and statements to hopefully stand out to some people. Not a lot of people really like that site in general.

Honestly, if you were expecting a new console to be under $300 dollars at launch then you're either crazy or you've forgotten how pricey new consoles are.

Considering Nintendo Land by itself is probably going to cost that much.

At least $50

Its called inflation. Previous Nintendo consoles launched around $200 dollars, which ranges around $250 to 400 dollars today depending on what consoles you're looking at.

The price is indeed reasonable for a brand new console. I wonder what the console will cost here...

It's much cheaper in the U.S. The prices on videogames and consoles in some parts of Europe can be ridiculous at times. When the PS3 launched in Sweden, it cost around $860 (converted to our currency, that is).
