I thought this would be fun. Which shine would be better for each character?

I'll start.

CF = Falco's shine
Zelda = neither. she needs her down b

Most characters would prefer Fox's shine over Falco's. Only a few characters have the vertical mobility required to follow up on Falco's shine, especially at high %s. It'd still be awesome to have of course, but waveshine->grab is more universally useful.

Luigi with Fox's shine. Could follow up on any character. Hell, he could waveshine other Luigi's.

the waveshine other luigi's blew my mind.

but yeah, pretty much everyone wants a fox shine, as long as their wavedash is good enough to follow whatever consistent knockback it gives.

More practically they could aerial > shine > grab > stock

As a general rule, if your best punish is a grab or ground move, you want Fox's.

Sheik, Ganon, and Falcon are better with Falco's I think.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say this would be ******** good. Falco's shine does more blockstun, so pillaring would be even safer than it currently is. Not to mention Fox wouldn't suffer from losing waveshine usmash, because he'd just be able to shine > uair.

Fox with fox's shine, falco with falco's shine, but they switch button-inputs with firefox/firebird?

I don't think fox would have a reliable uair after shine if the opponent sdi's the shine well. he already has uthrow uair I think having falco's shine could be....redundant? I like fox's shine as is.

Well not redundant per se cause falcos shine would have amazing uses but regardless still rather have fox's shine.
