-The Wi-fi Marth Thread-

Ok, before I say ANYTHING, let me get this across.

-We use Marth
-Marth sucks on Wi-fi
-Wi-fi =/= In person

That being said, Wi-fi IMO is still helpful for evaluating skill, learning matchups, familiarizing yourself with your moveset and when to use certain moves, matchup knowledge, and simply training and gaining experience.

I've seen this on a lot of other boards, what we can do here is allow players to play other Marths and get tips or feedback. This is in NO WAY a challenge topic to show who is better, it's a learning experience, that is all.

IMO, it would be more benificial if most of the matches are not dittos, because dittos in general are stupid, and Marth dittos are just, ugh. Still a few mirrors might be nice so you can directly compare yourself to your opponent and learn from it.

I'd really appreciate it if some of the better more well known Marths do participate in this and help out so people can learn more. But even if you aren't well known, feel free to come here to learn/help others.

Also, if one person is able to record matches that would be nice as well so that others can observe and give their own feedback and learn.

My Marth play style IS NOT going to do well against another Marth player though if they have a brain, lol. Camping/dancing blade spam=gay. I'll do skill-based dittos, but not the akward campy ones.

-Short hopping, its essential that you learn this
-Don't dash attack, its awful
-Don't dair on stage, too laggy
-A little less smashes
-Use Up B out of shield, its really helfpul
-Be a bit more aggressive when edgeguarding

You'll improve a lot if you work on these things ^_^

I would but we play like everyday so yeah. Anyway Zmt is a great marth to learn from. Very smart decisions and excellent spacing. One of the best marths out there in my opinion.

Marth is a character that does horribly on wifi for a couple of reasons:
His afterlag on his moves are actually still punishable. (Take wolf, who's own fsmash is hard to punish on wifi)
Marth can get projectile camped extremely easy on wifi. It's not easy to perfect shield projectiles as you approach; forcing Marth into the air where he is -in danger- from below.

Shieldbreaker break + up smash spam = yay with Marth on wifi.
