Getting this thread back on track, do you think they will add motion plus to the wii game? If they did, would it allow more epic swordfights? And I mean epic, sword-to-sword, pulse-pounding, low heart-beeping, steel-clashing, final blow-striking, cold, hard goodness!

Multiplayer swordfight mode ftw!

Very scary ruins
What power do you think Link will have in this one? Like in OOT with his ocarina or in TP with his wolf transformation. It will probably be something which uses WiiMotion Plus.

Well seeing as how Link does not have a sword, and unless Sword Navi does not turn into the Master Sword, then I doubt we'll have sword fighting. But that is an interesting point -- what if the Master Sword can now function as a talking sword and as a companion, used to solve different puzzles and defeat different types of foes?

It's interesting how both Zelda Wii and Spirit Tracks incorporate the use of a companion to solve puzzles. I am digging Sword Navi much, much more than the Phantom in ST though, seeing as how the game is mostly just a rehash of PH.

We should play as Ganon for once.

Seriously, give Ganon some play-time! He deserves it! Make another version of OoT, where you play a Ganon, doing all the things Ganon did. Etc, cursing the Deku Tree, visiting the king, letting the kids see you, sealing dogongo's cavern, and then in the end, it is inevitable ,you will be defeated.

I would love to see that. As well in TP.

There would be no challenge, and it would certainly destroy the charm of the Zelda games. The whole purpose is to challenge the player's courage to press forward. With Ganon, it would be targeting power-hungry players. It'd be like God of War Zelda, and I personally don't like that at all.

I have no interest in spirit tracks whatsoever. I'm pretty much through with Toon's games. Unless they make one for the Wii. THEN well talk toon link. But for now I've had my fill.

And no sword might make fans turn away from the franchise. "No sword? Screw this game!"

EDIT: Players controlling Ganon? Aside from what Spire said, there are things wrong with this. There is nothing TO Ganon's side of the story. He just does the stuff. What enemies would be in the dungeons? Ganon cannot fight his own men. If they were to do this it would require a spin-off title of its own, not bearing the title Ocarina of Time: Evil Edition.

Hmm...I suppose...

What about TP? Ganon did quite a bit in there, right?

XD I just wanna play as Ganon...
Then play as Ganon in the Subspace Emissary.

I think if they were to give Ganon his own game, then it would have to involve his ambitions. And the final boss would have to be Link. And would we really want to see evil triumph in a Zelda game? No...no we would not.

Adding to this, it would need to be a game set far in the future, with a highly developed Hyrule (can you believe I actually began typing "High Rule" just now?) that could actually oppose Ganondorf's power fairly. He could then begin to take over it, but in order to give the game a proper closure, he would have to be defeated by Link in the climax. I could not allow a Zelda game where Ganon wins from start to finish. Not cool.

I still like my idea of post-apocalyptic "skybound floating islands Termina" in Adult Link's timeline with five playable characters and five different, yet interweaving stories to follow better.

XD. I'd like to see Evil triumph. Juuuust oonce....
The day this happens in a Zelda game is the day the series dies for me.

But concerning the new game, have they said there won't be swordplay? I think it's rather more likely that there will be, just that Link will lose his sword at points or something. Otherwise why wouldn't he be holding something else to fight with?

Exactly. Just as Mario lost F.L.U.D.D. at certain points in the game in Super Mario Sunshine. Cookie for perfect analogy, plz.

A part of me is worried about this Great Fairy Sword (I guess would be the technical name :/) but it might be cool to see what the thing can do.

Well, technically it has happened. After OoT in the Adult timeline, ganon ***** hyrule, hence opening sequence in WW.

I suppose without the possibility of tragedy realized, victory feels too inevitable.

Is there a Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess manga?

Well, I just checked, and don't think a Zelda TP manga exists.

Which kindd of annoys me because a Phantom Hourglass Zelda manga exists, and I am much more interested in a TP manga than a Phantom Hourglass manga.
Turns out its easier to draw Toon Link than TP Link. Heh, I would love a TP Manga. Especially one by Shiro Amano who does the Kingdom Hearts mangas. :crying:

As for playing as Ganondorf, I'd much rather like to play as Zelda, lolol. The concept of being able to transform into Sheik to solve puzzles or defeat certain enemies is too appealing. But it would probably only be for just a portion of the game, not on a full game/Wand of Gamelon-scale. lol

I have no comeback off the top of my head, so this MUST be a good idea. Seriously, freaking EPIC.

That's different. Prologue/background info =/= in the game. What I mean is that evil cannot win at the end of the game. And anyway, the goddesses (good) stopped Ganon with the flood. They sacrificed Hyrule to save its people.

Also, playing as Zelda for part could possibly be awesome. Maybe.

Yeah, I can see what you're saying. I just meant that Ganon has (to an extent) got what he wanted at one point.

I was never really clear on this whole flood thing. I heard Nohansen finds and touches the triforce and wishes for his people to be saved, via flooding. Would this not have killed all civilizations in Hyrule? Gorons don't float. They drown. As for hylians and gerudos... Seems a bit counter-productive.

What happened to the Zoras btw? I don't recall seeing them in WW.

Oh. Wait. Why would Nohansen wish for Hyrule to be flooded in WW when it's already flooded? Gahhhh I think I'm forgetting something important.

1) Gods flooded Hyrule becuase Ganon went on a GTA styled rampage
2)Nohansen wished for Link and Zelda to find a new land to call Hyrule and -ahem- "re-populate" the land with the people living on the other islands.
3) Gorons as proved in TP, can live under water, with the Goron child staying under water in the hot springs, and the Goron in Zora's domain with his discovery of the "COLD SPRING!!"
4)We believe that Zora's became the people we know called the Rito's.
5)LINK AND ZELDA MUST REPOPULATE THE NEW HYRULE!!!1!

I think you are too but I don't know what. And Gorons always lived in the mountains. If memory serves I believe that all the islands in WW used to be Hyrule's highest mountain peaks. Therefore the Goron race would have been unharmed. Which they were.

When I was a kid, my favorite char in OoT was the goron who you had to blow up to give you the Red Tunic.

I named him Gorey

Too bad his name was Link. He was the son of Darunia, and because the leader loved Link so much, he named his son after him.

For all you Spirit Track naysayers out there, I'm sorry to say, but this is awesome:

That is Gohma, and multiple Gohma may be fought in the cavernous railroads around Hyrule. It has also been confirmed that most, if not all of Hyrule will be explorable ONLY by train, but that there will be a great expanse of land to venture through. I'm excited about both of these games.

Okay I'm seriously getting Spirit Tracks now.

Also that Gohma seriously reminds me of the Bellum eye.

Bellum was too ridiculously easy, especially in his first form. I was able to shoot his eyes easily, and he would deal hardly any damage to me. Hopefully ST will be harder. Has Nintendo said anything about making this for a more "hardcore" audience (or something along those lines)? I think they said something like that for Zelda Wii.

I find it funny how people are discussing a Zelda game that exists in one of the strictest definitions of the word.

Also:

*inside scoop*

The next Zelda Wii game will be called 'The Legend of Zelda: Wii Motion Plus Sold Separately' and will be an OoT remake but with Cel visuals. That artwork released was just to throw you all off. Believe it.

OoT with Cel Visuals will be total win. For some reason Cel shading in OoT might fit very nicely.

I would play that. Also, I'm trying to determine Link's exact progress in the dungeon, but am thrown off. There wasn't a chest in the spot indicated on the map, was there? I thought that was where the step-on switch that opened the barred door on the other side of the room was. Or is this Master Quest? That would explain the pillar going up to the second floor already as well. Oh, and there's no Beamos. Duh.

...I think I know this game too well.
