Eluveitie and Alestorm are amazing. Eluveitie's acoustic/instrumental tracks are just beautiful.

Bring Me The Horizon's new album is pretty freaking good. Musically, they've matured a lot since the last album. Longer songs, more experimental sounds, and adding orchestral pieces to songs has made their sound much more complete, rather than sounding like every other metalcore band out there. Tracks "Crucify Me" and "Don't Go" are definitely songs that stand out.

I'd just like to note that I went to the American Carnage tour in Los Angeles last Thursday.

That is all.

As soon as wretched tours here I'm going to see them.
You guys should know that I'm not biased in liking them
They're my favorite band, and I was called Wretched before I found out about them.

Really? It was so unremarkable that you have literally nothing to say about it? Can't say I'm very envious.
Oh..I just didn't think anyone would want to listen to an old man's ramble.

...It was amazing! I've never been so alive before. Anthrax was great, seeing them also solidified my milestone of seeing all of the Big 4 and my friend also caught Scott Ian's pick. Megadeth was amazing, I somehow made to the front of the pit during Lucretia. When they played Rattlehead with Kerry King, I felt as though one of my wishes came true. Slayer was intense and the pit was excellent, the pit was really small (The concert was at The Gibson Ampitheater). Before the concert started, I met and conversed with a lot of people. I mostly ended up getting praise for my Megadeth Clockwork Orange shirt. That night was really memorable and I can't wait for Motörhead in January. <.<

**** man. That's awesome to see Slayer, Megadeth AND Anthrax in one (two?) nights.
I went to both legs of the American Carnage tour.

The first leg was Testament, Megadeth and Slayer. I saw this leg in Long Beach on August 31th. The second leg was Anthrax, Megadeth and Slayer. The whole tour ended with the concert in L.A last Thursday but yeah, Anthrax was just great.

I may be out of the loop, but I just hear Nergal, the vocalist of Behemoth was recently diagnosed with leukaemia. =(

Megadeth angst? Megadeth is by far my favorite thrash metal group from that era so you must have me confused with another.

As for Metallica, eh, I can't really give a reasonable criticism but they haven't been good in what seems like decades. And I'm just not a big fan of any of their stuff really minus a couple.

Palpi has officially the most boring taste in this thread.

Yeah, I'm just recently starting to get into Meshuggah because they are a big influence on almost every heavy band I listen to.

My friend introduced me to bands like Tera Melos, Piglet, Giraffes giraffes, meshuggah, and a few more...they just aren't for me. Personally, I think it lacks passion. Doesn't mean I dislike progressive though =p

I just love polyrhythms and time signature changes so much.
I don't know what it is, it's like catnip for me.

That doesn't mean I don't. Math rock is much more complex than poly rhythms and time signature changes. That would merely mean a band is progressive.

Of course not, I wasn't specifying anything in particular.
I listen to a fair share of more melodic or symphonic bands too. I listen to most stuff, except drone. I'd be open to listening to any kind of music if the band is right though.

Boring > Bad imo?
Boring= Bad

but of course, if it's what you like it's not boring. I was just messing around, since it just seems like you dislike any kind of metal that has energy hahah

@ melon- Rolo Tomassi is seriously amazing. It took me a long time and at first I hated everything about their sound but when you really listen to all the chaos it's hard to imagine humans writing and playing it. It's just a strange, different kind of "brutal" than most other metal/mathcore bands

oh, and Eva Spence is sexy as hell. her harsh vocals aren't as good as Krysta from IWABO but she is way hotter and has a much better singing voice. she's also got incredible stage presence
