The most aggressive stuff I listen Yo is like...equilibrium, ensiferum, eluvietie, finntroll, that's probably it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tysvzUk-AcY

But I mean, kamelot, elvenking, serenity, epica, blind guardian, ensiferum, equilibrium, finntroll, avantasia, moonsorrow, wintersun, eluivietie, korplilaani, mutiny within...

Just because I have recently been posting amient black metal, doesn't mean I only like slow songs :(

YES. They are way too good. Although most like their first two albums, I am madly in love with their third album Holographic Universe. Every song was good, and the title track is probably my favorite song of the genre. Their new album with the new vocalists was a bit disappointing though.

Listening to scar symmetry right now actually. I love Swedish metal sooooo much lol
I wasn't bothered as much with their newest album, but they definitely lost that 'oomph' that made me get into them.

I'm jealous Green Fox :[

Anyone into Dark Tranquility?
I only discovered them a few weeks ago and now I feel stupid for not finding them earlier.

I agree 100%. This is mostly because AJ, the founding member who wrote most of the music on the first album, left to pursue non-metal music. They got a replacement guitarist who can shred but the songwriting was a lot worse.

Now that AJ is back and they have a vocalist that doesn't suck, I'm really excited about this new album.

OH YEAH

and BTBAM is recording a new EP:

They have always been the most nonserious band ever.
They have admitted in lesser seen interviews that they put on a party face because meaningful metal doesn't have giant appeal.

I dunno many specifics, I just didn't enjoy it. I didn't like their singer, (very nasally...atleast live...i've never listened recorded) and their harsh vocalist bothered me for whatever reason. They had very good harmonies though. Their intro was pretty epic, but the music didn't rub off on me the right way I guess.

He was amazing
I don't know how much he had to do with the song writing, but it feels to me that they tried to compensate a bit of song quality for technicality.

Is Epica making a new album yet?

Well the Classical Conspiracy came out in '09 too
I wouldn't be surprised if they have something scheduled for early '11 release, that's all. They had that one single too. *shrug*

My favorite vocalist atm is Mikael Akerfeldt. Dude can cure cancer.

James LaBrie is good when he's not being overly cheesy.

Roy Khan, Russell Allen, Tommy Rogers, no doubt about it.

Unless you're counting older 'classic' metal as well, in which case it would be the works, Bruce ****inson, Dio, Dave Mustaine, etc.

Wow, it censored Bruce's name? That's just not cool.

I'm not too good when it comes to naming top favorite things but at the top of my head, its Dio, Dave Mustaine and José Andrëa.
