Yeah, PK is doing an awesome job indeed :) He makes Brawl+ for us Pal-players possible.
Alright, can't wait for it.

I also think that CF is good right now. Even better with the momentum tweak.

I'm very behind schedule with porting, and the new version of shieldstun is messed up. if any PAL player has a working shieldstun, please send it to me, would be appreciated.

Will there be a custom CSS in the new beta 3? I think it would give it that nice special touch. Not necessary but it makes it stand out even more from regular brawl.

I can honestly say that with the exception of the Zelda icon instead of the Zelda/Sheik icon, I have yet to see a screen that I like (including 4 or 5 that I made myself).

I posted this in the chat room but I'll mention it again here:

Faster Samus grab, maybe roll for 1.31?

In depth impressions to come.

I searched this whole thread, but cannot find an explanation or description for the Character Specific Launch Modifier. May Someone please explain it to me?

It changes the Downwards Gravity, Fastfall Speed and Jump Height (both SH and FH) of different characters by different amounts.

I don't want to sound rude but why not try it and post it up here and see what people think. I'm terrible at writing code, but I'm always willing to test out new codes.
Sure I'll post it. Just as I suspected, the pluserys set was missing the jump momentum code and Im starting to dig beta 3 now. The air momentum code makes my set feel way more floaty
Code:
Jump/Grav Values [29 Lines]
065A9200 000000DC
0044C440 0114F440
0245CA40 0304E440

0628AC80 0744A440
0834C440 [B]09189C70[/B]
0A35CB60 0B33C530
0C35CB60 0D34C440
0E444440 0F06E440
1145CB60 12448440
1326AC80 14568440
1544C440 1612E830
1744C340 1824C640
1935CB60 1A44C440

22468550 2335CA60
2534E440 2944EA40
2C28AC80 2E3FCB60

3F833333 3F866666
3F89999A 3F8CCCCD
3F900000 3F933333
3F966666 3F99999A
3FA00000 3FA66666
3FB33333 00000000
Changes:
Falcon full gravity from 1.1 to 1.075
Fast fall from 1.15 to 1.125
Sh from .9 to .85 to compensate for slightly more floatiness
Fh kept at 1.1 because ledge hop nairs was hardly possible
kept down grav at 1.2

I think this falcon makes more sense and feels better.

btw kupo when will you make new Brawl+ vids? :)
When I go home and play with my friends which won't be for another few weeks.

Oh ya from earlier testing.

Ganon's Jab is awesome. It gives him some good space against faster characters. It's also hilariously badass cause it can eat many projectiles and faster speed combats the spam.

Link is too fun. He feels great on the stage with the low lag aerials allowing for some really cool fakeouts. I hope he stays this good.

Lol at Bowser taking no damage during a Meta Knight Tornado, except at the end. I'd be interested to try 2% but then he might not take damage from too many of the projectiles. Either way, it's a cool and innovative way to keep him competitive.

The G+W lag really only affected the F-air and D-air noticeably. Either way, the F-air nerf hurts his approach which is just fine.

SH F-air with Ivysaur is now a much better approach. He still needs something to do about his recovery, but he at least has a better approach.

MK is much more tolerable to fight, but he still feels way good. The D-smash lag wasn't enough to punish poorly thrown out D-Smashes. Still he is way light so it gives him an Akuma-esque feel. The tornado nerf was much appreciated.

Overall, I'm happy with the codeset. My roommate had a minimum amount of Yoshi playtime this afternoon, but he claimed the SH was higher then Beta 2 and it wasn't as good. What do other Yoshis think?

Also, since we are going down individual move tweaks to nerf MK, what about bring back move decay to nerf Snake and call it a day. Gives him a unique style of play and lets face it, most of Snakes moves are great so he can deal with it.

EDIT: I'm gonna mess with Beta 3 some throughout the day, but I'll try and get your set-up in there Kupo. Are you using the same modifiers for the other characters as Beta 3?

hmm. I can't seem to get either download link to work. They both give me page load errors in both explorer and firefox. Does anyone know why?

It may be the site itself. In fact, it probably is. I'm working on a more stable form of getting them on the internet without silly restrictions (and resisting the temptation provided by a friend to host them on my home computer).

Techroll speed is in the codeset.

Just copy and paste the codeset into a text file, save it somewhere you can find it easily, open up Ocarina, and click the boxes to turn on the codes. If there aren't names above the codes then you copied the wrong set.

I don't see why that's a problem. MK can still use the move to gain a positional advantage against Bowser, but can't use it to hurt him effectively (which is doubly useful since Bowser has no reliable way to counteract the move).

I guess I'll need to try it out myself, but it seems like when an attack hits one character for a couple % and the rest of the cast for 10-20 %, thats a problem.

@_@ awsome.... bowser doesn't take damage from mach tornadow or MK and kirbys down throw.... This might just be all he needs to be viable. We will just have to see. *goes to do more testing*

umm. The whole point of the code is that it hits for lower % against him. It makes perfect sense to me. Bowser's a big *** dinosaur turtle thing. He doesn't give a **** if he's gettin hit by people. Bowser dont care. This works as a nice buff for him.

Good work on all the buffs and nerfs. I love the changes to MK's whorenado and link's aerial reduction is a great improvement on his game. He actually feels much more viable now.

Gannondorfs jab is now very sexy :) I dont quite understand why falcon needed a buff but ahh who care's he's even more manly now.

I look foward to more buffs and nerfs in the future. Hopefully one that deals with shieks ftilt.

Keep up the good work.

edit: wait. no dammage on downthrow with kirby!! Bowser really doesnt care. ahh well, more forward throw i suppose. Its not like bowser is a hard matchup for him anyways. edit 2: haha i just tested it. 1 damage. Bowsers a beast.

The main reason for falcon's buff is that defensive playstyle against him can completely dominate him right now with a large portion of the cast due to his poor priority. This change isnt that substantial is just meant to try and give him a little more shield pressure. If its too much, we'll nerf it back down.

I'm loving the better aerial approach for Falcon.

He can play a bit more aggressively, like Falcon should be, but it isn't over done to the point where it ruins his Brawl feel. For kicks and giggles I threw in some N64 hitstun in there and dear god is Falcon a monster. I was going zero to knee regularly XD

And he doesn't feel as heavy as he did in the earlier beta.

My friends are liking the increased lag of G&W. Makes pure aerial spam less viable but it still exists.

Ganondorf's jab is a great GTFO move now o_O

Not to mention the new tornado is great. Really makes characters who have a very hard time getting past it more viable in the matchup.

I was testing it out a bit and I think that Ness and Lucas are too heavy. They may play better that way, but they just don't feel like Mother characters. In Beta 4 I think they should become more floaty again but make up for it in some other way. If buffing Link's recovery too much removed some of his personality, then taking away Ness's and Lucas's unique jump completely shreds theirs.

I also have a suggestion for the code layout. It will make the code list look much larger, but I think the code should be split up and organized by character. This way, if someone wants to setup their own values easily and quickly they will be able to with very little effort.

Alright I guess I just assumed Ness and Lucas would be the same. I still think Ness needs his old low gravity, but Lucas can stay the same to keep them different. And whats filler mean? They're all 0's

Its an empty spot for if we every need another modifier in the code. Basically an empty variable which we can add if needed.
