I did not include samus and doc because HugS is the only samus besides IHSB, and I'm unaware of his performance in nationals. Shroomed is the only doc that I've seen actually at that level (HMW doesn't seem to really main doc anymore).

I also did not include mango on this list, for various reasons. I did however, give certain people multiple mains, if I felt it important to. For example, m2k and vanz seem to select character heavily based on matchup, or personal preference. Mango just picks whoever the hell he feels like.

I would put a list of the names, but I have a feeling that would just lead to unnecessary/biased discussion. The list was made mostly from actual results, and with a bit of bias (and a lack of Europeans, because I can't accurately judge them)

I agree with otg. I've seen him play, he's good, let him prove it at ROM.

I included darc and hbox. As I said, I did not include mango, and I'm unaware of any other jiggs players who get into national brackets repeatedly (king is inactive in them).

Zhu, I actually didn't count you, but I just don't see much of your fox... though when I see it, it's awesome... hmm

normally i read all of a thread before responding, but this thread is just gaining responses too fast. so let me say a few things:

1) mango is the world's best. all of the contenders play him and come back saying things like "mango is on a whole different level, we can't compete."

2) hbox is the world's second best. he hasn't lost a set except one set to PP at herb3 for like a year, excepting Mango. That set was totally legit and lends a huge amount of credibility to PP's already-imrpessive resume, but regardless, HBox is the second best

3) appears to be Armada. I'm not a fan of armada, I think he plays just as gay as HBox in serious matches but then also loses. I think he's also a jerk on the boards. However, he has demonstrated that he is the third best player.

4/5 Amsah/m2k. Hard to say. M2K has never beaten Armada. However, he never played sheik against armada. On the other hand, Amsah has only played one tourney over here and had a significant amount of trouble with JMan, whereas M2K dismantles JMan on the daily.
In response to something someone else said a few days ago: M2K would tear Calle W and other european spaces to pieces without a second thought. I'd put money on it.

6. Dr. PP. He takes #5 if M2K retires. This kid not only has taken falco's metagame to new levels without world-class competition, he also keeps going to tournaments, almost beating top players,a nd then going back home and getting better. I wouldnt be surprised if he beat Armada at the next tournament they both attend.

I have already make a post when i put him as second and my as third so i don´t understand your logic.

And ALL the people how know me (in the smash community) know i always have a hard time with puff.
You don´t have to belive me but thats the truth.

Even before i came to America i have problem with puff because we don´t have top players with puff.
So when played against puff how is ok i have much problem to handle it.

A good friend to me said something like this "I can play more even against you with Puff than i can with other chars and i never playing puff".

2. Hungrybox - Has been winning every tournament that hes entered for the past year. Only person that truly beats him is mango when hes not hungover. I think Hungrybox would be all together better if he stepped up is doubles placements in nationals so it shows hes overall the best in singles/doubles


3. Armada- Best peach player in the world. Took out almost every pro player from america besides hungrybox and Mango.

4. Mew2king - Though he plays brawl now and his controller broke and that hes retiring? Mew2king consistently places at least top 5 in every tournament for singles/doubles. If he put more practice into just melee he would probably be top 3. Since he's out of practice i see him losing this spot soon. Usually, only loses to the ones above him but has lost to others in the past couple of years.

5. Amsah - Came with aramada to pound 4 and ended up beating armada and losing to hungrybox. A very smart player who places very well in his country and occasionally beating armada. Took out most of the top players america had to offer

6. Dr.PP- In the last 2 years Dr.PP has came out of no where. Being very consistent he has been placing top 10 in nationals and top 5 in every other tournament. Only person he has been losing to lately is hungrybox. I believe Dr.PP will be one of the best if not the best in the next year or two.

7. Axe- His pikachu *****...so does his falco..end of story

Armada rarely ever loses games in PAL, let alone sets, let alone tournaments.

Calle W is the only one to give him slight difficulty, I believe.

Amsah is struggling with Armada in PAL, possibly due to the match up swaying to Peach's favour in PAL. Either way, even with a positive match up in NTSC, Armada tore through the Foxes and Maths, who are supposedly Peach's worst match ups, so Asmah is still really good.

Pretty good. I'm not sure about armada/m2k but next time he comes over, he will probably beat m2k and settle it for good.

Shroomed has kinda been ****** west coast, along with Lucien for that matter. They could very well be up there with Jman and the others, however they were supposed to prove it at rom3 but for whatever reason they're not going anymore. Norcal backing out killed a lot of hype for rom3 imo.

Gawd, I wish SS would play in tourneys more. It's so hard to rank him cause he never leaves California, but when he does, he does well against EVERYONE... beating Armada, beating Mango a couple of times (including his Puff); and when he loses, it's always so close

Yea, being technical used to mean being able to do fast and complicated motions.

If you want to bring it up as technical consistency, I'm sure most top players are pretty equal in this aspect.

But in the sense I was talking about it, I meant in that old school way of just being fast with complicated motions.
