@sage i hear ya, most people havent. just ask around on here til its closer when ill be making a thread. wanna do teams bracket ahead of time this year haha so i will be keeping it very organized starting about a month or so before the tourney

That's like 30 matches if you 10-0.. it's long for only 10$.. =/ It's not like SF4 where it takes only 1min on avg per round.

Shorter sets like 3/5 are fine for people like you who get to travel often and do many MMs at many different tournaments. But for people like me who, if lucky, get to go to one big event every 1-2 years, it doesn't suffice. A 3/5 is pretty much anyone's game between two great players. 3 wins really don't prove much.

And money isn't ever my main goal. It's not about $10, this is just a means to ensure that every player I challenge (or random people on the forums) cannot give excuses about how the matches we played were "only casuals so they don't mean anything" (a flawed argument) or "I wasn't consistent during our fight."

FT10s are more accurate in measuring consistency than shorter sets, so it's my preferred format.

By the way, SFIV (and SSFIV) matches tend to be long as hell. I think a better example would've been ST.

i heard he took a match off of m2k before at the hotels for Pound IV but then lost to m2k for the majority of the matches they played. I could be wrong though.

This type of attitude is precisely why almost no one gets any good with "bad" characters to the point of making them a threat, cementing the belief that they can't compete. It's a vicious cycle and it takes a person with the right resolve and the right qualities to break it. If you'll be at *Pound* I recommend you grab some juice and take a seat because I am doing MMs up the wazoo this time.
