1st Party - Engaged Yunaka & Micaiah (Fire Emblem Engage)

Will have a mix of light magic & dagger attacks, either will use a close swing/explosion or a projectile depending on where nearby oppenents are at. Light magic attacks are weaker but will also heal the summoner slightly.

3rd Party - Nights (Sega)

Will fly quickly around stage, impacting oppenents will freeze them in place & cause Nights to do a paraloop which will do big damage to the frozen fighter & anyone else caught inside the trail.

1st Party

Currently Brainstorming

3rd Party - Prince of All Cosmos (Katamari - Bandai Namco)

Will roll his Katamari towards opponents doing damage & knockback upon impact, Items & Projectiles will stick to Katamari making it bigger which results in it being hard to dodge as well as doing more damage & knockback.
Someone has already submitted the Prince pretty sure

Conker the Squirrel
Conker's the main protagonist of Conker's Bad Fur Day, after getting wasted he ends up trying to find his way home but gets into an adventure filled with inappropriate stuff, parodies of movies, and meets a bunch of wacky & weird characters along the way.

As an assist trophy, Conker will hit opponents with his tail or a frying pan aswell as a chainsaw which he uses during the N64 opening in his game, he can also fly up his tail to get back on the stage while also moving around it, he's also played by his Chris Seavor his original actor from the game.

And yes he can be KO'd.

1st Party Assist Trophy:

Parabo and Satebo (Satellaview)

Parab 3F_and_Sateb 3F.png

I feel like this may be the only chance to squeeze in some obscurer Nintendo representation so here we go with a piece of obscure Nintendo history. Specifically, we have the mascot duo of the satellite add-on for the Super FamiCom which paved the way for things like Xbox Live and Virtual Console, Parebo and Satebo. Basically, the two of them will spawn on the Battlefield with Satebo setting up his sattelite. Then, Parebo will fly around throwing explodable Super FamiCom or SNESs onto the battlefield causing damage ot other fighters. Eventually, the two of them will "download" an opponent's move and simply strike back with that move on the other fighters. A complicated assist for such an obscure piece of Nintendo history.

Thank you everyone for voting! Here are the results of the Sonic moveset submissions:

Name5 Points4 Points3 Points2 Points1 PointTotal
Cyloop3 (15)2 (8)00023
Wild Rush1 (5)1 (4)1 (3)1 (2)115
Sonic Boom02 (8)2 (6)0014
Homing Shot002 (6)2 (4)010
Spin Slash001 (3)3 (6)110
Loop Kick2 (10)001 (2)113
Recovery Smash01 (4)0035

With that being said, Cyloop will be apart of Sonic's Down Special while portions of Spin Dash will be adding to the side special.

Here are the submissions for our Assist Trophy first party and third party.

3rd Party Assist Trophy: Mars People (Metal Slug) (SNK)

View attachment 375690

Mars People is an enemy from Metal Slug series.

Mars people as an assist trophy is they walks and shoots with a plasma gun or their UFO.
Assist trophy submission:
Alex Kidd (Alex Kidd)
View attachment 375691
Alex Kidd is main protagonist of platformer game series of the same name made by SEGA back in the 1980's and he is a monkey-looking boy who trains Shellcore (a fighting style that exists in the series) and fights off threats that appear on his planet Aries.

Alex Kidd was used to be SEGA's mascot back in the 80's and it was used to be Mario's competitor but the place was taken by Sonic in 1991 and he is now considered as historical SEGA character from now on.

When summoned as an assist, he would choose a random enemy and use his "Jan-ken-pon" move that would stun the opponent if it losses to him.
If the opponent wins, then he doesn't do anything besides punching it many times.

I think Alex Kidd should get an assist troohy considering that he is a second SEGA mascot that was used to be on top until Sonic kicked him from top in 1991 during "SEGA Mega Drive/Genesis" era.
Idk if this counts as a first party assist trophy but I think representing abit of the switch era with labo is a great choice plus robots are cool

The assist trophy would chase the closest person next to it and when it gets close enough it throws out a very strong punch ( it would do about 20/30 percent, great knockback and also with the added bonus of doing around half of your shields health)

Bandai- namco

The prince from katamari
.

He doesn't have much of a chance but he would be great representation for a series that is massively underrated

The prince would have abit of rng involved with him (since I wanted to keep the mechanic of his ball getting larger)

His only attack is trowing a ball towards the other players but there would be three different sizes small, medium and large

Small has a 25% chance of happening and it would be almost pokeball size and wouldn't do much damage or knockback

Medium has a 50% chance of happening and in a stage like battelfield it would make it so that the player has to jump towards one of the two platforms on the sides
Decent damage and okayish knockback

Large would have 25% chance of happening and again with the battlefield comparision the players would have to jump to the top platform to avoid it
Great damage and the best knockback out of all of them but not the biggest amount either
Nintendo assist trophy submission:
F-Type (Stunt Race FX)
View attachment 375693

F-Type is one of playable vehicles from Nintendo's 1994 racing game "Stunt race FX", released on SNES/Super Famicom. It is a formula 1-esque racing car is the fastest and weakest vehicle in the game and it's one of default vehicles that you have in game.

Despite Stunt Race FX is considered as one of obscure Nintendo franchises (even if it has a one game in the series), it still manages to be part of Nintendo's history due to being Nintendo's first true 3D racing game and even this game felt like an actual racing game due to it's physics (like dynamics and gravity being in the game).
Plus it was promoted by Nintendo, Kellogg's (in form of proofs from cereal boxes) and Mattel in form of a Hot Wheels car called "Shock factor" (it was reskinned into F-Type in order to promote the game) in United States.

When summoned, F-Type would start to drive around the stage, drifting on the edges of stages and boosting straight at opponents, sendong flying.
The hit deals 15% damage per hit.

It can occasionally jump when driving to hill or just jump to reach the fighter in aerial state.

It can be KOed and if you KO him, he would explode into polygons ans it would harm the enemy player.

His design is based on his clay model.

Since Smash is a celebration of Nintendo's and gaming history, I think F-Type is one of the deepest choices that might be fun as an assist. Also we haven't got an miscellaneous "SNES/Super Famicom" assist trophy in smash since Dr. Wright's appearance.

Also despite being an obscure Nintendo character, he plays some part in Nintendo's history (especially during 1990's, where Nintendo was experimenting with 3D games via FX chip).
First Party Assist Trophy:
View attachment 375695
Gloom Spawn (The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom)
A new enemy spawned from the Gloom and replacing the dreaded Guardians of Breath of the Wild, the Gloom Hands will slowly wander the stage before pursuing anyone that gets close to them with a loud screech. When in range, the Gloom Spawn will swipe to grab at a foe, dealing 7% damage with a hefty squeeze and granting them a 1.2x damage multiplier to their hurtbox for 6 seconds.

Third Party Assist Trophy:
View attachment 375694
Ragna the Bloodedge (BlazBlue)
The cover character and main protagonist of the fighting game series BlazBlue. When summoned, Ragna will function identically to Alucard, having a slew of moves taken from his movelist in the BlazBlue series that could make him easily modded into the game.
  • Hell's Fang: A forwards-advancing fist strike that deals 9% damage and low-medium knockback.
  • Gauntlet Hades: Ragna will leap into the air and perform a hefty overhead fist smash that deals 13% damage and spikes.
  • Dead Spike: With a swing of his blade, Ragna summons a forwards-advancing projectile identical to Power Wave. This deals 11% damage and medium knockback on hit.
  • Inferno Divider: If his foe is too far up in the air for him for most of the attacks in his set, he'll instead use Inferno Divider, a leaping uppercut slash that deals 8.5% and medium-high upwards knockback.
When Ragna reaches 50% HP, he gets access to the following:
  • Carnage Scissors: When forwards advancing attack identical to Buster Wolf that deals 24% damage total and extremely high knockback with a double slash.
  • Devoured by Darkness: Ragna's arm morphs into a more monstrous form before he swipes to grab the foe. Should he land this, he will siphon 16% off the foe to heal himself, making him the only Assist Trophy to do so.
When Ragna reaches 10% HP, he can sacrifice his remaining time as a summon to use his Astral Finish, Black Onslaught, in which he attempts to catch any nearby foes with an uppercut sword slash. After his sword transforms into a scythe, he barrages them with scythe swings imbued with darkness before finishing with a final, more demonic scythe slash that results in an Instant KO. As a unique twist, if a match ends with a Black Onslaught, the announcer will instead go "ASTRAL FINISH!" like in BlazBlue before going to the results screen for whoever won.
Assist: Metatron (Shin Megami Tensei)

When he appears he immediately casts the spell Megidolaon, making a massive purple explosion across the screen. He then disappears after the spell.
First Party Assist Trophy:

MC Horace

horse switch face.png

Many of his attacks will be based around the minigames in Everybody 1 2 Switch.

MC Horace will begin dancing on stage with two Joy Cons in hand, accompanied by dance music similar to the one in the video. He will then do one of three randomly generated attacks, each with a 1/3 chance of being selected. The first will be based on the balloon minigames where he releases around 4 fighter sized balloons onto the stage, which will pop after 4 seconds, damaging players in their vicinity. The second will involve summoning 3 UFOs which will fire beams onto the stage, damaging players caught in the blast. The third and last attack involves jump rope, in which a giant jump rope will go around the entire screen and damage players that touch it (it can be dodged by shielding/rolling and will go a little slower than in the game as to not be too overpowered). It will swing around the stage 4 times before disappearing. Once any one of the three attacks has concluded, MC Horace will do a wacky pose then disappear. The design of the balloons, UFOs, and jump rope will all be taken directly from Everybody 1 2 Switch as seen in the video.

Third Party Assist Trophy

Frogger

undefined

Frogger will hop around the stage, and occasionally summon a car or truck to drive through the stage and ram opponents. He will summon around 3 cars or trucks, one at a time before disappearing. Cars are faster, but are smaller and do less damage, trucks are slower, but are larger and do more damage. Each of the three attacks has a 75% of being a car and a 25% of being a truck.
King Slime is not eligible. Please read the job ruleset. It must be from a series NOT REPRESENTED IN SMASH via character, assist, item, or mii costume as of Infinite Beyond.

Beedle
The Legend of Zelda

Beedle will appear and set up shop. If players hits Beedle, Beedle will either give out an item or cower in fear. The stronger the hit, the better chance at a more powerful or rare item but also the greater chance of surprising him. His model is based on TotK.

Pyramid Head
SIlent Hill - Konami

Pyramid Head will lurch about until an opponent gets into striking distance. It then heaves out its gigantic sword and slashes down; creating a vortex of blood-red-like energy that sucks in opponents into the strike. It has a huge reach and high knockback but is easily telegraphed and is predictable. Pyramid Head can be KO'd but it has superarmor throughout its appearance.
First Party Assist Trophy
View attachment 375705
Puffstool
Pikmin

Pikmin 4 just released, so new content for the Pikmin series is always nice. The Puffstool is an iconic boss in the series due to its unique spores that allows it to take control of your allies and put it under its command. The Puffstool is a medium sized assist trophy that will try to walk towards your opponents and scatter its spores, anyone who inhales these spores will have gain a multitude of various bad effects. These effects include a poisonous damage over time effect, having your controls reversed, making the screen darker (and unlike other assist trophies doesn't hinder the summoner), or causing sleep. When attacked the Puffstool flips over just like in its game of origin, but after getting up it will release another cloud of spores. The rubbery cap of the Puffstool can be jumped on like a trampoline by the summoner, allowing for an extra jump. A simple but straight to the point assist trophy from a franchise that needs more representation.

Also Venus of the Desert Bloom Venus of the Desert Bloom is Clippy eligible, I have a cool idea for it and it seems like a good out of the box idea, I am asking since he did appear in a few games?
Venus of the Desert Bloom Venus of the Desert Bloom Would Activision/Blizzard characters be elligible? The Microsoft deal will likely have gone through by the time Infinite comes out, let alone Beyond.

First Party Assist Trophy: Iono

After being summoned, Iono appears close to the screen, in the lower left-hand corner, much like a v-tuber. A stream chat appears above her, with messages flying by. Iono has speech bubbles which will display various messages based on how the players perform, like "Player 1 is on a roll!" or "Ew, Player 4 needs to stop spamming!" After a bit, she waves goodbye and despawns, along with the stream chat. Based on their comments from Iono, each player either gets a snazzy item or is momentarily buried/stunned/sleeping/whatever.
First Party

Glimmer (Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed)

Glimmer would appear and stand in place, attacking opponents that get near her with her Kithara.

She would also play her Kithara and increase the damage of the summoner or fire 3 heat seeking projectiles.

She may also spin around with the kithara and heal the summoner.
View attachment 375721
Oatchi
The loveable space hound companion from recent smash hit Pikmin 4. When summoned, the yellow pooch will look for items and will bring them to the player, picking up anything that is dropped and dragging them to the player's character. The player can also direct him to an opponent via a little prompt that pops up, and he will proceed to chomp that fighter.
Third Party Assist Trophy Character

Blinx

View attachment 375731

This time-sweeper will spawn into battle and sweep up anything in his path with his vacuum! Watch out as he’s able to suck you up and launch you out super far! Occasionally, he will either speed up or slow down the battle. Alongside this, you can KO him!
Third Party Assist Submission

Spyro the Dragon (Microsoft/Activision?)

When summoned Spyro will attack his enemies with fire or by using his horns, he could also fly and the player that summoned him could stay on top to travel the stage, this could be useful in big stages like Palutena's Temple.
Third-Party Assist Trophy: Axel Steel (Guitar Hero)

Guitar Hero is one of the most popular game series ever, and while it does heavily rely on licensed content, Axel Steel is very memorable as the game's original playable character for heavy metal songs. When he appears, Axel plugs into an amp and then initiates his attack, which is basically DK's old bongos Final Smash, just with a (copyright-free) heavy metal song instead of Jungle Hijinx. The attack ends, and he then lifts his guitar triumphantly and despawns.

Will fly quickly around stage, impacting oppenents will freeze them in place & cause Nights to do a paraloop which will do big damage to the frozen fighter & anyone else caught inside the trail.

Game Mode: Submit a New Game Mode

We will be submitting a game mode that looks like the following:
  • focusing on fostering and promoting competitive mechanics and play
  • is both offline and online
  • has a power rank
In the Infinite thread, we included game modes that were goofy and fun but nothing that looked at fixing internet or competitive issues aside from "rollback netcode". We will fix this by including a game mode that focuses on a game mode that introduces new players to competitive play and provides veteran competitive players a place to practice and enhance their skills. You can be creative as you want with your mode design but needs to have the above criteria.

Alrighty, here's my first draft:

Smash Trials

Smash Trials is a gamemode majorly based on the Smash Ultimate Training Mode but with some new bells and whistles:
  • Beginning to Smash: This is for the new player who has never played Smash before. Here, you learn the most basic of techniques.
  • Intermediately Smashing: Teaches the player about techniques that are universally used by themselves, such as Perfect Shielding and teching.
  • Smash Like A Pro: A series of challenges that teaches the player several advanced techniques that can be done in-game.
  • Know Your Smasher: After going through Beginning To Smash, it is recommended to go here, a section where players can pick a character and learn how to play them, from character-exclusive mechanics to "Break the Targets" stages to combo trials that play into the character's strengths. As you complete a character's Know Your Smasher section, you gain Mastery points, which indicate how skilled you are with a character.
  • Trial Studio: Alternatively, you can use this mode to create your own Custom Trials for your character, which can be uploaded for players online to save. The game automatically calculates how many Mastery points completing a Trial is worth, ranging from length of a combo to how hard it is to complete.
In addition to being an indication of skill with a certain character, a portion of your Mastery points goes towards your Global Smash Power.

Oop I failed at both of my suggestions 😭 sorry about that.

For a new mode, this might be too-high concept, but I wanted to suggest something in this style because I love PvE multiplayer.

Tandem Smash

In this mode, players would be joined together in teams of two, three, or four, either locally or online. Once the team is set, they will be thrown into a PvE match against a huge boss. This could be more powerful versions of the bosses that already exist for the end of classic mode, or it could be all new ones. If it is new ones, they would be huge stage-sized monsters like Metal Face or Ridley from Pyrosphere. The boss would either have different phases with different ways to fight it, which would allow any sort of fighting style to have an advantage at some point in the fight. Another possibility, especially if the boss is more like a structure than a character, is the boss having different segments on its hurt box that react in different ways, requiring the teamed up fighters to split up and take on the sections that they're good against. Finally, there's the possibility of a "zombies" like mode which involves the team of players to fight a horde of smaller enemies, like Multi-Man Smash but more themed. Depending on the bosses used here, all of these different gimmicks would be in play eventually.

The point of the game is to have your team beat the boss as efficiently as possible. This means taking the least amount of damage in the least amount of time. More efficiency means more points when the team wins, and teams can compare their high scores. Leaderboards would be split into two-, three-, and four-player high scores, since fights would be balanced around the number of players.

While we're in the middle of this job, could we get the list of modes we added to Infinite posted somewhere on the front page of this thread as well, just for convenience's sake (so people might not accidently make modes too similar to those we've added before)? The old thread's front page is a little on the cluttered side, so just a list of the names of the modes would be fine.

There aren’t any modes devoted to this idea hence why I’m doing it. I will write what modes there are but we arent bringing everything back. We will vote on them later.

Is it too late to suggest a missing assist trophy to return? Like one that was gone from Ultimate and/or Sm4sh,

Please use the thread poll voting to vote for which one you want!

I was going to hold a workshopping roundtable for adding another game mode that we can use as the focus for our project considering not all modes will return but I need more time to think and incubate the idea.

Instead, we will be submitting an....

Item: Smash-Original Item

We will be submitting an item that appears only in Smash Bros. This includes items that was included such as the Raygun, Beast Ball, and so on. In Ultimate, our original items were...

  • Anti-ssist Trophy
  • Bottle of Soda
  • Dark Stone
  • Gravity Tether
  • Snowflake
  • Tutu
We will be submitting an item that can be of any type but must originate from Smash Bros.

ENERGY CONDUIT
The Energy Conduit is an equippable item with a sort of identical function to an Assist Trophy in which you call upon the power of something from another franchise. In this instance, however, it's imbuing your character with an energy source from a franchise of your choice. These effects may vary, but to give some examples:

1691625795707.png

SATSUI NO HADOU (Street Fighter)
When your character becomes imbued with the power of the Satsui no Hado, the kanji "滅" (Metsu, "destruction") will burst from your character for a moment and they will be imbued with an evil red aura for the next 12 seconds. While under the effects of the Satsui no Hado, your frame data and damage output become faster, but you suffer from taking 1.2x damage and having reduced shield health.

1691625816605.png

XP (Minecraft)
This is a more unorthodox energy to imbue your player with: instead of directly buffing your fighter, you build up XP levels by dealing damage, gaining 1 Level of XP per every 5% damage dealt. The next item you pick up while XP is active will clear all XP levels to enhance the damage/effects of that item. The Franklin Badge gets a stronger reflector multiplier, the Hammer gets increased damage, and the Rocket Belt grants faster upwards momentum. If a player doesn't pick up an item for 13 seconds after being imbued with XP, the effect will disappear.

Now this third example, I'm sure Venus will love:

1691626085417.png

EEZO/BIOTICS (Mass Effect)
When your character is imbued with Element Zero, or Eezo for short, the user gains a bluish aura around them. They sacrifice their ability to shield in favor of doubling their weight value, while landing an attack will temporarily decrease the weight of a foe to 0.8x their original value for the entire time the use is imbued with Eezo, which is 8 seconds. Furthermore, all attacks gain 1.2x extended range using bursts of Eezo.

Item: Minecraft Egg
Note: the egg image won’t load, so the egg image wont be there
The item appears on the ground, and you can throw the egg, dealing 5% damage. On rare conditions, a baby chicken will spawn, before leaving.

It will be saved for later

While indeed awesome, it can’t have any connection to other franchises. It’s an item that exists only in Smash.

Very well then. I'll just save the Energy Conduit for later. In the meantime...

Mini Master Hand
A bite-sized glove of which accompanies the person who picked it up. This is effectively a miniature version of the boss Master Hand that's been present throughout the series, using the same attacks in tandem with your own. It has a dynamic AI system in place, using one of the attacks from his boss fight depending on certain situations. Think how Street Fighter 6's Dynamic Controls work. After 15 seconds, the Mini Master Hand will give a thumbs up to the fighter that picked him up before flying off.

Flashlight

This is a weapon that deals a good chunk of damage when thrown

The Flashlight has a Smash Attack that has the user charge up a big cone of light and when released the cone of light is shown and the controls are reversed of opponents who have been hit by the cone

There is also a Searchlight

It is the same thing that deals more damage when thrown, has a larger cone, and instead of reversing controls it stuns opponents.

Possess

Throwable ghostlike item where if landed will see the thrower possess the oppenent. This will put the thrower temporarily in control of the oppenent with buffed strength & speed & all damage only being done to the possessed fighter. To discourage people from just jumping off the stage if you do so no stocks are lost & both players would respawn with an extra 50 damage from what they had before.

Thank you to everyone who submitted content! Here are our submissions!

Original Item: Bear Trap

View attachment 375865

Bear Trap as an item is the fighter stomps on the bear trap making 13% of damage and trapping them
Item Suggestion: Electrichakus
Based on the Sansetsukon, it would be a Weapon Item that when used has a Jab it works like a staff, but using the side tilts makes it segment to reach long distances, it also deals electric damage so it has a chance to stun.

My only concern is that we have a Spirit Stone Flashlight from Fatal Frame. I don't see the need for two flashlight items in the game. That being said, I wasn't able to sit down and look at submissions until now so I will OK it but please note that we already have a flashlight-like item in the game. In addition, I am also submitting an item...

Parachute Bomb

An explosive that, when activated, will shoot up 8 different payloads into the air. They will then descend back down to the ground but will pop open a parachute. The bombs will explode regards where it makes contact; an opponent, obstacles, or ground. This makes the bombs tricky as players will need to avoid them or avoid being launched into them.

That being said, please vote on which one you want!

The famous Japanese rice cake treat. It will spawn in large quantities and only heal 4% of damage.

Dog for Nintendog Assist Trophy

Chocolate Labrador Retriever

Labrador retrievers are super iconic dogs. They are one of the most popular breed of dogs around the world. In fact, I used to have a chocolate lab as a family pet. Thus, I believe the breed of the Nintendog should be a Chocolate Lab.

Food: Pupusas (7%)
Trying to put something of my own country, thought it is a plate common of most part of Central America afaik. Pupusas are tortilla-like food made of either corn or rice mass and with practically anything you want inside, most commonly fried beans with cheese.

Dog Breed: Chow Chow
Idk I never had a dog but I thinked they are cute due their fluff.
