I'm personally pro-ban on the Metaknight topic...

Also, if we're going to have slight, subtle differences, I'm sure there are some players who see infinites, especially those by the ICs, as detrimental to the metagame.

What's wrong with Distant Planet again? What's so random and hateable about it?

Nothing, IMO.

I use it in my tournaments as a CP all the time.

People complain ledge play is too good here, but with a LGL that point is moot. Other than that, it's just the walkoff.

Nah.

Same stage + vocal music.

Seriously, it's such a pimp stage for songs with vocals, provided they are 1) sung by women and 2) not metal or something silly like that.

Yeah. Which is why I leave it unreplaced.

But... seriously Sakurai? "Environmental Noises"?

How is that going for you tesh? I have been thinking about picking it up as a secondary to counter my bad match-ups when using delfino plaza.

Sucks when your main isn't legal in tournaments. Now I know how those MK mains almost felt that one time. I'm learning PS2 though, and I think I could main it in tournaments with some more practice.

I main Rumble Falls.

Also, I'm going to do some analysis of some stages that were outright banned at the onset of Brawl, as well as some stages which are banned and should remain so. There's no reason we shouldn't have information on them.

Going to start with Rumble Falls, which at least for me falls into the "why is this stage banned?" category. I'll make sure that the thread doesn't mention "this stage should be legal" or anything, though.

Sunshade already has a thread like that, Supreme Dirt.

Not sure where the link is right now, though.

Feels good ^^

That'd be a fun project, BPC. I know a lot of random **** about the dumbest stages lol... and I think it's a worthwhile effort to compile our knowledge even on stages like 75m.

hey, it took 800+ posts but we did manage to determine with certainty that Mario Bros should be banned

how hard can it be for the rest of the stages in this game? :awesome:
I think we came to the conclusion that if this sub forum was a nation state its chief export would be mental masturbation.

During the 2-3 months I stopped posting I missed that thread. Can I get the sparknotes version?

Grim does research on Mario Bros.

He finds out that:
-Hazards are not random
-----Details hazard's properties
-Circle Camping in this stage isn't possible due to the interference of hazards
-Ceilings won't create a cave of life effect that can be used to drag out a game's length

People like the thread because it brings new information to the table in a nice format, but others slam it because, "LOL it's Mario Bros." and even with all the theorycraft in the world, nobody would ever legalize the stage. That didn't stop some of us from trying though.

And thus, I Grim, myself, and a few others (don't remember) made serious (but hilarious) arguments supporting its legality, while everybody else argued back while still in shock that we were being serious about it.

The best part of the thread was the arguments that were being given. Some (exaggerated) examples would be:

"This stage changes everything so radically that it's not even Brawl"
-Bro, check your game disc. We're still playing Brawl.

"The skills that this stage tests aren't what we want to test! This stage turns Brawl into a contest of who can throw items better, and trashes more important skills like spacing, zoning, etc.!"
-What, you don't want to test item control now?

"The items man! THE ITEMS!!!!!!"
-The dodge button man. THE DODGE BUTTON!!!!!

Although we were being serious with our arguments, the only reason we kept on arguing was because people were reacting wildly to the thread in general, and it was hilarious. Eventually, the thread got too out of control with trolling and spam which forced RR to close it.

It's because of that thread that I sometimes debate on the other side of the field just because it's funner.
