All infinites banned that do not require a wall.
Including the Ice Climbers' infinite CG on the entire cast.
The wall part is simply because all walls on every currently legal stage are temporary, and thus are not true infinites.
What is wrong with infinites?
Consider in the case of Ice Climbers:
1. You have to have Nana alive and reasonably close
2. Ice Climbers have poor grab range
3. Ice Climbers are practically unviable without their infinites
D3? Only has standing infinites on a few characters--some low tiers and DK IIRC. Unless you count that buffered pivot grab jazz that's borderline impossible to pull off without frame advance.
Marth? Grab release infinite on two characters that are both low tier.
Diddy Kong? Other characters can infinite him right back with his own bananas.
Also consider that with or without infinites, MK
is still the best character in the game. If a character weaker than MK needs to be nerfed, then
by definition MK also needs to be nerfed. And how do you propose we do that? Remember that this ruleset is OSF and therefore MK's planking is defeatable (just wait him out and win by percent lead). So what else do we nerf about him? Scrooging? Same problem as planking. Nado? Not only a balanced (if strong) attack but also unenforceable. Ban him? No reason to--under this ruleset he is no longer inherently broken, just really powerful.
The tl;dr is:
1. MK da bess.
2. Because MK da bess (and by a good margin), characters under him are by definition less powerful.
3. Some characters under MK have infinite combos on others.
4. If a character has an overpowered infinite, the character is overpowered.
5. Because MK da bess, if characters under MK have overpowered infinites, they are overpowered and therefore MK is
even more overpowered than they.
6. If MK is not overpowered,
no character has an overpowered infinite.
7. Therefore, if we nerf infinites, we must nerf MK.
