St.Louis Area Discussion Thread

According to Mapquest it will take about 30 extra minutes to drive through Rolla and Springfield instead of driving down through Arkansas, which is the quickest route. Nicole would appreciate it if you take the alternate route so she doesn't have to wake up at 6 AM and drive 2 hours to St. Louis by herself to meet you guys!

Us going to Rolla adds on a total of 192 miles onto the trip, plus it adds in toll roads making it even more expensive. It would be greatly preferred and a lot easier if she drove to davids and if he can't have her over tonight she can drive to our place and spend the night. Then she wouldn't have to wake up earlier than everyone else and we wouldn't have to add on 200 miles to our trip. If she really wants I'll give her $10 for gas or something since she has to drive further.
Edit: Fuu, that's fine as long as you have a ride back as well.
Everyone else please show up to our house as close to 8am as possible, the earlier the better. David, if nicole can come down tonight can she spend the night with you? If she can't it's cool she can stay with us.

Fun melee smashfest tonight. It'd been like 4-5 years since I last saw you guys. I got to meet brawlpro, TTT, and cookiemonsta for the first time. Trail, Toga, and Sam made an appearance as well. Thanks Geno and everybody, it was well worth it.

Interesting notes from day 1:
Nicole and the DK Will got 5th or 7th in doubles(there were 50 something teams I think)
Silly Kyle and I got 13th.
I think davids team got 17th and hylians 25th? Dunno about them.
David made it out of pools with three seed.
I think Ripple might have made third seed?
Nicole made it out with three seed.
Hylian got first seed, beating Tyrant 2-0 (hype???).
I didn't make it out, got fourth seed of eight. Jowii (he had sooooo many people in his pool, like 10, and top 3 make it out, it was dumb), Rauleen and Fuujin didn't make it out either.
In my pool, I took a game from Dphat, losing 2-1, lost to Shugo 2-0 (actually did well here though!) and lost to Ozz's Falco 2-1. I had to beat Ozz to make it out (we ended with like the same game count so it came down to head to head I believe), and all three games were really close, but just barely couldn't pull off the set. Oh well, disappointing to put so much in to those three sets mentally and not make it out. Still, played well.
That's the update. If anyone cares, haha

Perhaps, maybe calling Melee a dumb game was poor choice of words because it's an excellent game, but that doesn't make Falco any less of the best character in Melee. Maybe as a Marth, Falco is easier to play against than Fox (uthrow-u-tilt), but then it becomes character by character assessment. Falcos laser and Dair are just stupid.

I ****in' saw Will's DK, it was awesome and totally legit. He even lost to AD HD despite using the same strategy, yet people will claim that this tournament proves planking is broken... it only proved further that planking ISN'T broken, lmfao.
I love how people complain about DK and other average characters "sucking", but then DK actually has something useful (but clearly not broken) and it's like "well that's gay, DK shouldn't be that good, make fake rules to make him suck more!"
This community is full of ****ing idiot whiners who do nothing but contradict themselves and ruin the game, which is CLEARLY fine as-is. It's so sad.

Haha, I figured you would love it. Well, ADHD didn't really prove that it wasn't broken because after the first match he just always kept the lead pretty much. But, it isn't broken at all. Someone posted on RB's Facebook wall like 6 things Olimar can do to beat DK on the ledge, plus there's always the option of picking a character like MK that can easily deal with it. But it's pretty funny watching some people get so mad.

Brawl is such a good game though, it's only the idiots of the community that are bad. They think the game is bad when it's really quite good and doesn't need their "help" to "make it competitive".
