*sigh* I tried talking to ma d00 DJ about this, he told me he has an interview for an upcoming job this week actually. All the best luck to him. I really hope he lands it, because tbh...even if he goes to tourneys and whatnot he looks really depressed day by day...and even if you guys say he shouldn't be going to tourneys, blame the TO and people that lend him money to go instead of trying to encourage him to save up the cash to pay back the people that entrusted him with their own cash that they probably slaved for hours at a 9-5 for.

All I gotta say is I hope he gets the job. I know even though NYC if you look hard enough you can get a job, its not that easy sometimes...but its still possible. I really hope he can start making some progress to show us that he's serious about paying people the money back.

Ever since I heard PBnJ pay people back their money I was pretty **** excited to see him come up to NYC. I remember people used to tell me things about him, but now that he's cleaned up his act lets hope they see him in a good light now.

I know some smashers that owed me cash and I've lent out huge sums of cash, sooner or later they payed me back money (only one person owes me money now but he's definitely paying me back this week since thats when his check comes in so he's in good standing.) Hell I even owed smashers money at times, and I made sure I payed back the money. Even if at times I was unemployed, I'd ask my closest relatives, tell them my situation (and then since they know I'm their relative I am obligated to pay 'em back no matter how long it takes, usually relatives are more leniient just cuz you're family even if they don't wanna be.)

Anyways, all I'm saying I hope this thread serves its purpose, cuz Apex is 3 weeks away and I know DJ wants to enter. So if he wants to **** at the tourney, he better prove to Alex Strife that he's making progress or he'll be banned...just like PB was banned from Pound 4.

(Btw in all seriousness Swiftbass is definitely mad legit, VGBootCamp should definitely add him to the list of commentators for Apex before its too late.)

Look...I know he's a good friend of yours and that you're an optimistic and forgiving person.

I am(/was?) too.

But PLEASE be a little more realistic and not so emotional.

http://www.smashboards.com/showpost.php?p=9388793&postcount=100
^ from Rei's original thread after Pound 4

and then DJ made a thread in response...
So its just like the title says, I'm going straight to the point. The thread about me wasn't a wake-up call for me or anything like that. There's no point me saying sorry because obviously that won't cut it of course. So I'm just gonna say that I'm not going to any tournaments. I'm going to pay everyone that I owe money to back and I'm gonna get my life back into shape. The money won't come soon since I have to build up the money but I promise the people I owe money to will be paid back. Ever since coming back home from the Pound 4 weekend, I have been in the process of getting a job. I have alot of things I need to accomplish this year and I'm sure all of you do as well. All I know is I'm gonna make sure I don't become or stay known as a lieing, shady person in the community. I'm turning 25 years old, I'm well-educated, and I'm also gonna return to college to finish up. I'm gonna take advantage of the skills that I have been blessed with and gained throughout my life. So like I said, I'm definitely getting my sh*t together, paying people back, and not making any stupid mistakes I've done in the past. I f*cked up too much but I'm gonna do what I gotta do to clear everything up, return myself, friendships, and things back to normal, and I'm gonna stay in the positive mindset.
Anyone else remember this?

Dated January 26th of this year?

Oh and of course the immediate response from a kind and forgiving friend:
thats fine w me dude
[not crapping on you, Alex, I'm just saying this has happened before...]

Pretty ****ing sick of all the excuses.

and even if you guys say he shouldn't be going to tourneys, blame the TO and people that lend him money to go
People who are close with him who know the situation(s) he's in that don't intervene are just much enablers as the people who lend him money. I'm not takin shots at people or trying to start anything. I'm just stating a fact. Yeah he's the only one who can REALLY help himself and it's mad difficult/awkward to really tell a friend in this situation "no I can't give you a ride to the tourney because your priorities are out of whack"...but...well WarriorKnight said it himself here:
However, when his way of living effects others and drags them down with him, we are entitled to intervene and try setting SHlT straight.
I'm sorry if I seem bitter but I'm pretty sure I'm entitled to be.

Again, for people who love to jump to conclusions or only feed on the drama of a situation, understand that I'm not out to "get him banned" because I'm "mad" or whatever...it's about principles, ethics, and consequences...you know...reality.

I'm not vindictive by nature and this by no means an exception.

You can't keep asking for second chances.

I apologize if I sounded emotional, I actually was siding with you guys for him being indebted to you. I guess my typing sucks at conveying how I feel T__T.

That quotation about him from January is definitely a killer.

everyone can benefit if they choose to take something from it and nobody is left stuck out.

im pretty sure thats what was expected, this thread is what you got.

for those of you who can't understand why people put out for each other than **** you. not saying you have to do it, but at least understand why.

not completely the same situation but similar. everyone is happy instead of 1 dude, and 10 ppl mad.

DJ Nintendo is a coward. When he's confronted with something he should respond to, he avoids it like the plague and tries to pretend that he's somehow above the "drama". In reality, he's just a coward.

He owes my friend, The Great Leon, well over 200$.

To make things worse, he just recently offered MIMI, a female smasher from Las Vegas, a PAID plane ticket to Apex. With tickets running at a minimum of 300$, it seems DJ is down to spend other people's money just to get some p*ssy.

Needless to say, she declined his offer, as no female alive wants to get with a broke down, broke a**, limp cocked, tournament losing, dry d*ck having, money robbing coward.

Good thing there's smash, he could certainly make some money off of that to pay back these debts.
Oh wait...

hes probly spent more than half or half of what he owes entering tournaments and traveln for 6 months
To be honest, I've heard that he will often bum rides or ask for free entry to some tournaments. Obviously not all of them, but yeah if he didn't go to all of those events he could have made some money back.

i think they are still tight that they aren't seeing any of that ... i mean sure if he gets like 30$ to go to a tourney why not take out 10$ and have the 20$ for urself for w.e time period it lasts. But the thing is that he isn't being responsible with his debt. If only u guys were credit card companies and could forcefully make him aka interest LOL.

*sigh* i dunno i really hate unnecessary drama though ... and i mean that this should have been dealt with after the first thread =[

i love this community though and i hate that its being taken advantage of and its going to slowly change now for the worse =[[[[

the problem lies within the specific people, so don't justify their actions or provide them more sympathy than they've already taken advantage of.

Like I said, by virtue of him owing money to people, the money he is currently spending is not "his" and will always be considered "borrowed" money until his debts are clear.

At the very least, anyone with the power to be an enabler should decide against ever doing so again.

It's been said before, but that goes for the TOs, people who give him rides to events, etc...

You want to avoid unnecessary drama?

You want for no one else to be taken advantage of?

You want for your friend to get his head straight and his **** together?

Then that's what you'll have to do.

Just stop helping him and stop letting him slide with **** because "he's your boy" or "he's chill" or "he did ____ for me back in the day."

You can't please everyone, Alukard. Don't view it as "drama." It's only dramatic if you let it get that way.

If everyone's just upfront about ****, then there won't be anymore discussion and there won't be anymore "drama."

Instead, friends/bystanders are getting soft and giving him leeway (or the chance for it), which in turn causes others, myself included, to throw out walls of text or spiteful/bitter/nonconstructive posts. THAT'S when the drama happens.

Just be realistic, address the problems, and if you choose to help fix them, do so.
