Designed by Yu Suzuki, OutRun was released in arcades in 1986 and was very influential to the racing game genre as well as videogames in general with its influential sound design, music, and graphics. Submit An Xbox and/or Playstation Exclusive Game

Since we've had quite a lot of Nintendo games so far I figured we'd do one for Playstation and Xbox as well. They do not need to be made by Sony or Microsoft just as long as they are, and still are, exclusives to their consoles. Crash Bandicoot, for example, would not have been eligible for this job since even though it started as a Playstation exclusive it got remade for other systems. If the game has an arcade release prior to console it is not eligible, but it's fine if it had a PC release. So something like God of War 2018 is eligible even though it's on PC.

Halo: Combat evolved (Microsoft - 2001)

Halo: Combat evolved is a FPS video game made by Bungie studios and Microsoft game studios and it takes place in 26th century, with the player assuming the role of the Master Chief, a cybernetically enhanced supersoldier. The Chief is accompanied by Cortana, an artificial intelligence. Players battle aliens as they attempt to uncover the secrets of the eponymous Halo, a ring-shaped artificial world.
This game was a killer app for Xbox consoles when it was released.


Halo: Combat evolved became a critical and commercial success and is often praised as one of greatest video games of all time. Heck, it even started an iconic franchise after the success of the first game by selling games, novels and other stuff (This aforementioned game even has a remake that was released in 2011, 10 years after the original game's release)
Also this game has very good soundtrack like the main theme for notorious example (there are also different good songs in the series).


I think I would make sense to include Halo: Combat Evolved since we don't have a Microsoft game in our game collection, so Halo would be the first game to represent Xbox consoles.
Also Halo is one of influential FPS games alongside DOOM (1993) and Quake.

Gravity Rush

Gravity Rush is a action-adventure game released for PlayStation Vita,the games protagonizes a young girl called Kat and her "cat" called Dusty,Kat becames a heroine and she want to know her past because Kat doesn't remeber aobut her past. The game is overrated by the players and it was created by the same person that created Silent Hill series, Kat is a playable character from a Smash-like game called PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale and the game series will gains a movie adaptation.

Microsoft game - Halo 3

I think this is my second time submitting this game. Reasons are much the same - Halo is Microsoft's most beloved in house IP, and Halo 3 seems to be the most beloved game in the series.

Sony Game - The Last of Us

I can't imagine the Venn Diagram for "TLOU fans" and "Avid Smashboards users" is particularly large, I myself prefer plenty of other Sony games. But this game is so impactful, downright revolutionary, that I feel it has to be added. It has one of the most beloved stories in the medium, and the recent HBO Max show is not just one of the best adaptations of a Gaming IP, but flat up one of the best shows on Television at the moment. As for the version included - because the PS5 remake doesn't have multiplayer yet, I feel that going with the PS4 remaster makes more sense - should the remake ever get it, than we can swap it out.

Parappa the Rapper

(Release date: 6 December 1996)​

Parappa the Rapper is a rhythm video game developed by Nana-Osha and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment on Playstation back in 1996 in Japan.
The game is about a young pup named Parappa who raps with random people that are featured in this game. The gameplay is about tapping the buttons in the rhythm of the song while Parappa is singing.

This game became a huge success in late 1990's and it's responsible for the start of rhythm games. Heck, DDR, FNF and many rhythm games wouldn't exist if Parappa games never came into existence.

I think it would make sense to include a rhythm game in our game collection, since we haven't got a single one and it wouldn't be a celebration of gaming if we didn't had a rhythm game in the collection.
Plus Parappa had a popularity resurgence recently due to memes based on it.

I considered the Last of Us for this but this does the job just as well. I think having a rep for Sony's big modern movie games makes sense, and while I prefer Ragnarock from a story perspective, it doesn't work without the context of 2018 so.

One of the first games to really heavily utilize the dualshocks analog sticks. Although the series has been neglected as of late it was one of Sonys first internally developed hits spawning several sequels and spinoffs.
