Submit A Multiplayer Focused Game

We have had a lot of games that are good single player experiences so for this one I’d like a game where it’s 50% or more focused on multiplayer. Something like a team shooter, fighting game or battle royale would be good examples of picks. Something like Bioshock 2 or New Super Mario Bros. would not be eligible because their multiplayers are not a main focus of the experience (New Super Mario Bros. Wii probably would be though).

The launch title for Atari 2600, meaning this has been enjoyed by millions, Combat has 27 different ways for players 1 and 2 to fight each other in a very simplistic war simulation. It still holds up pretty well today (okay maybe not holds up well but it hasn’t really aged poorly) and has inspired a lot of multiplayer games moving forward

World of Warcraft is a MMORPG game made by Blizzard Entertainment in 2004.
The game is set in the Warcraft fantasy universe, World of Warcraft takes place within the world of Azeroth, approximately four years after the events of the previous game in the series, Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne.
This game has also huge amount of expansions that are created to this day.

The gameplay is about controlling your avatar character that does many things like walkinh through various environments, collecting stuff, fighting monster and interacting with NPCs.

WoW is considered as one of the greatest games of all time due to it's gameplay, graphics and huge popularity.
Also this game is considered as one of influencial MMORPG games of all time.


I think we should include a MMORPG game in our collection and WoW is a great candidate for the genre.

Love it or hate it, there's no denying how impactful Fortnite is, and I think that makes it's inclusion warranted. Getting Fortnite through the collection gives you the founders pack, something previously unavailable for years - having it let's you accumulate V-bucks simply by playing. It will also give you access to Save The World at no additional cost.

If Fortnite is dead (is no major content updates) by the time this collection releases, all the prior content is included but the game itself is also changed. Every month, there's a new "micro season", which is somewhat similar to Salmon Run - the map is randomly chosen from a prior season, and every week the item pool slightly changes from all the items in Fortnite history (this allows anachronisms like a shockwave hammer on the C1S1 map). These micro seasons also have a micro battle pass, which have 35 levels and consist of 3-4 sets pseudo randomly chosen from prior battle passes (this means that old battle pass skins can finally be re-accessed). The shop also randomly shifts, and all items have their V-buck prices halved (unless the company company that collaborated is being mean).

Also, on the front page, FRLG are labelled as American games. Is there a reason for that? I thought it was developed in house by Game Freak.

Genuinely the best platfighter I've played from a control standpoint. Even if we'd lose mod support in the process, I feel like this would be a great game to add to the collection.

Minecraft
Minecraft was first created in 2009 by indie company Mojang and released in 2011. It was a huge hit, being known for its open world where you can build almost anything and craft a verity of items to help you survive. This open nature made it a hit with let’s players on platforms such as YouTube, pushing both this game and the internet forward and giving them both further relevance. It ended up being so popular that in 2014 when it sold to Microsoft it was valued at 2.5 billion dollars. Minecraft is also known for frequently being updated with new game mechanics and mobs. In Ultimate Game Collection, all previous updates of the game are playable.

Crash Bandicoot
Although it has now been released on all major consoles through the N. Sane Collection, Crash Bandicoot was originally published by Sony for the PlayStation console and was seen as their mascot. PlayStation’s Mario. The game is a 3D platformer where you move through narrow, corridor-like levels and an occasional side scroller. So it wasn’t a huge open world collectathon like other 3D platformers of the time such as Super Mario 64 but it still features plenty of collectables and is known for fun but notoriously difficult gameplay.

The first title in the Half Life series, this 1998 first person shooter helped to change the FPS industry by having a non linear narrative with the world view being seen from one character all the time. The simple gameplay, advanced graphics, unique story and artifical intelliegence of NPCS helped to solidfy Half Life as a unique first person shooter game that has stood the test of time and has gone on to launch one of the highest rated FPS gaming series with each future title breaking new boundaries into experimental gaming technology. From the realistic physics engine of Half Life 2 to the virtual reality engine of Half Life: Alyx, none of those games would be possible without Half Life.

My multiplayer game submission is Among Us because, removed from all the memes and layers of irony, it was a multiplayer phenomenon during the pandemic. It's quickly become one of the most recognizable video games of all time just because it did the right thing at the right time to perfectly appeal to modern tastses. So rarely has such a small-scale game captured the entire world's attention like that, and the simple gameplay loop is endlessly replayable, fitting perfectly in a collection like this.
