In my opinion, it's more of a subtle hint towards Snake being playable as TWO characters.

Although I kind of hope it is, because “Spirits” is a bit of a dumb-sounding name for your new main mode. On the other hand, “Subspace Emissary” doesn’t roll off the tongue either, so ces la vie

I'm sorry did I just see people take "Soren uses a dagger, a small blade to use the moves of a big blade echo" seriously? Cause having to edit the move's range and **** sounds like it takes an awful lot more effort than just giving a sword. The guy's wording makes it sound like Soren was given the dagger for that purpose, meaning it's a deliberate choice. That sounds really ****ing dumb

Lucina has different range, framedata etc. to Marth and is an Echo. Not really too out of the ordinary. Idk who Soren is and whether that'd be logical, so there's that.

I'm hoping so. It'd suck to lose Fire Mario and half of Little Mac's alts. And some characters like Mega Man and Ryu have more potential alts that'd look sick.

It's barely noticeable for Lucina and Marth, and that's still a LOT different than a small knife, which would need more drastic reworks

Lucina is just slightly shorter then Marth but last I checked her frame data is exactly the same on every single move.

Fire Mario is a Mario Echo and he brings some of the Smash 4 custom moves with him, namely, the Big Fireball, Shock Cape, Scald FLUDD and Explosive Jump.

I think one reason Black Knight could be a likely character is because of how little effort he would take. He would always be wearing his helmet so he wouldn't require any facial animation or anything. I don't know the details of how development works but I can't imagine getting him up and running would be near as difficult as a character Like Medusa or Dixie Kong. Granted I think both of them are more likely than BK but he seems like a really quick and easy addition.

I started with Melee so skip N64.

In melee i did not know who (evil pink demon that haunted my GameCube) were.

In Brawl I did not know who were.

In 4 I didnt know who was, and for DLC i didnt kniw who was.

For Ultimate so far, Ive only heard of by name, and was never bothered to look him up/learn more baout him until he got revealed, so well count him.

Yeesh. Smash Bros, Marvel vs Capcom, Street Fighter X Tekken, Monster Hunter, Project X Zone, and presumably many more crossovers I can't think of. How many people/animals has this man beaten up by now?

Even if they don't have his face to worry about, he has very detailed armor and it would probably take extra work to prevent clipping. I still think he's possible but I don't think that armor actually wins him any points.

I dont believe a single leak this time around because I bet you Sakurai has done everything in his power to keep everything a secret this time around after both games prior had been completely leaked.

So I do believe the false information or the idea that ppl are just saying whatever. I dont think sakurai would even risk anything being leaked

How many Echos do you think we can expect to be left? I'm betting on there being around 3-5 more:


1. Shadow (Sonic) (Honestly surprised more Sonic characters haven't been added to Smash yet. Always seemed like an obvious thing to do to me.)

2. Isabelle (Villager) (Not as confident about her as I was a few weeks ago, but I still think the odds are good. Animal Crossing is HUGE, I would be surprised if it didn't get anything substantially new in Ultimate.)

3. Ken (Ryu) (I reaaaaalllllyyyy don't like this idea, but I've kinda just accepted it at this point. He's the only one of these I'm gonna say is a near lock, and that makes me kinda sad as I don't really care for him, lol.)

4. Dark Meta Knight (Meta Knight) (This is a risky prediction, as I honestly believe Kirby won't get squat in this game.)

5. Boshi (Yoshi) (Predictions aren't fun if you're not bold! If Geno is in, I think this guy actually has a slight chance. Extremely slight, though.)


I'm very likely to be wrong on all of this. I'm terrible at predicting Smash.

EDIT: Probably should have made it clear who the Echos would be based off of, lol.

Mine is gonna be a risky echo prediction, no fun in playing it safe all the time. Also I don't believe that Isabelle will be an echo (not saying it's impossible for her to be one though) hence my exclusion of her, if I'm wrong, record my post and I'll gladly eat my words.

Trailer starts with the Smash logo opening: Cut to an animated cutscene with Wario who we see in a large city, walking through minding his own business, when suddenly something is off, the city around him starts to change to a murky atmosphere, and Wario is horrified to find out that there are these creatures that are surrounding him, he pleads for help and all of a sudden out of nowhere a figure jumps in and shouts, “Show me your true form!”, taking off the mask, however it is weak and is instantly defeated on contact, the figure is revealed and exclaims “Power courses through me!”, cut to the tag line: “Joker Steals the Show!!”, after this Last Surprise starts playing, then we cut to gameplay with Futaba conversating with Joker simultaneously, giving him tips while also talking about how unfamiliar the territory is, we’re shown his moveset, which relies heavily on different Personas like Arsene, the Assist Trophy, Aigis, and the stage, the Velvet Room Arena, and finally it’s capped with Joker’s Final Smash, All-Out Attack with Morgana, Ann, and Ryuji. Cut to the Smash Ultimate logo and after this we see Joker confused saying, “Hm, Caroline and Justine, what are you doing here?” To which they say, “We’re not letting you escape this time, inmate.” Cut to black.

Please tell me what you guys think, I’d love to hear feedback.

Got another game we can play. The rules are pretty simple. Order Ultimate's newcomers (not including vets) from most to least favorite, then place your two most-wanted, currently unconfirmed characters on the list.

For example:

I was so excited to get Ridley and the Inklings, and I don't think there's anyone left who could top them. Lycanroc and Mipha are two characters I've been faithfully supporting, so I'd be a little more excited for them than I was with the rest of the current newcomers.

K Rool and Ridley have been some of my most wanted for the longest time.
Dark Samus is just freaking cool, really the only echo that's hyped me so far.
Simon and Inking, well I've never played their games but it's pretty great to have them and they're cool.

I'm betting on 4:

1. Shadow (Sonic) - really popular, he and Isabelle are the only two characters I think that are shoo-ins at this point
2. Ken (Ryu) - In a game where you have this fancy name and concept for your clones, I just think it's natural for the OG clone to be in
3. Yarn Yoshi (Yoshi) - if he doesn't get in, I think he'll be Yoshi's Final Smash
4. Black Shadow (Captain Falcon) - my bold prediction

Oh man there were tons of characters I didn't know of when I first played each game

Smash 64 - I didn't know and maybe ? I think I knew who was despite not having playing any of his games. I pretty much only owned mario and kirby games at the time plus some other characters from playing games at friends houses.

Melee - Didn't know . I didn't really play that much melee as a kid though I just never owned it. Only played it at other peoples houses.

Brawl - Didn't know . I also didn't know about just in terms of like, I didn't know about her zero suit form. Also the only reason I knew was because I remembered someone in Nintendo Power talking about how much they like Kid Icarus for NES.

Smash 4 - Didn't know . Mostly I just never played KI:U or Fire Emblem! Oh well.

Ultimate - I know who everyone is so far and I've poured through so much speculation that I'm fairly sure there aren't any characters they're gonna put in this game who I won't have heard of unless they go for something really weird. Honestly I probably wouldn't know about or if they weren't in Smash 4 to be honest.
