I don't like the recording clause in its current form since near the end of the MM, a friend of the losing player could hold up a cell phone and void the MM. Although I wouldn't expect somebody to do this, you might want to reconsider how you'll prevent people from recording since you're not dealing with pocket change.

You should hold the mm in an exclusive corner or half of the venue and during the mm everyone who wants to be on that side has to check in their cell phones cams or bags or something.

If nobody has cameras/phones over there then it shouldnt be a problem.

People would need to be searched, etc. for this to be legitimate. I'm not sure if people are willing to subject themselves to be searched. This loophole needs to be fixed.

I can kind of understand this, but you have to keep in mind the abundance of resources for people to learn. Chances are they won't be watching this video thinking "hey that's a cool thing to do with marth/sheik" when there are tons of other (possibly better) videos to watch as well. Just saying. I think it'd do a lot towards hype if this were recorded, but then again that's your business. Good luck to both players at this MM, should be interesting.

Do you plan on going to any nationals (Pound V) for example? I'd like to get some matches with you, and maybe a MM too =D

Sounds good. I think the agreement should go something like this:

1. Adam and Scar select a person or a group of people that they both trust and agree on to search the spectators.

2. If a searcher knowingly or unknowingly lets a spectator watch with a recording device and somehow the spectator does secretly record the matches and Adam discovers so, the MM would not be void since it is Adam's fault for placing his trust in the wrong person or the wrong group of people (meaning he should have searched them himself to make sure or hire a third party security guard to make sure). This seems like the only fair method because someone can just be like:

"LOLZ, this person is about to lose. Let me secretly pull out a hidden camera to make the entire MM void." Also Adam mentioned something about a written contract which is actually a good idea.

The recorder who is caught should also be charged for the side bets that are taking place. Adam and Scar should force all spectators to sign written contracts prior to watching. The main reason why I haven't taken up the side bet yet is because there are so many loopholes taking place and I would rather see the contract prior to making the side bet.

hahahaha P giving himself 1.5 : 1. all that says to me is that he gives himself no real chance, not that I would either. This is cool though, this will probably be smashes largest money match and generate a lot of hype. Since no recording is allowed I think we should do a play by play radio style commentary like they do for baseball games. If a no recording rule is gonna be enforced and is in the terms of getting paid I also think that only those who have put money down should be allowed to watch but that's ultimately up to Jason since it's his tournament and his venue we'll be using presumably. We should also get this in writing because this sounds way too good to be true and I wanna get paid at the end of this.

Hmm, that is really true. Glad I don't fall under that category -- I'm starting to come up with a lot of new techniques with Fox to use, so we'll see how that works out =D. Haha, I think I'm just disappointed I won't get to watch, but hopefully there will be some sort of documentation on it. Sounds too hyped.

I was typing this very long and eloquent post about why P is dumb, but then I stopped to read his old NeighborhoodP posts, realized how nooby they were, and proceeded to erase everything and type this instead.

At least back when I was being a douche I had the balls to come on SWF in full force, from noobdom, proclaiming how ****ing awesome I was at melee in a completely arrogant, brash, and egotistical manner. Hell, I had GERM wanting a piece of me when I could barely even wavedash.

Adam, is it the case that you don't want our set recorded either...? Having the set recorded is the major element for MM's for me. I wouldn't play just to take your money, I'd like to be able to watch the match afterwards, to see what you did well, what I did well etc.

I'm not sure how exactly your gameplay will revolutionize long-played characters like Falco, but I look forward to playing it, at least. I'm reminded of mango+lucky+alex19's video, where they do REVERSE FORWARD TILT EDGEGUARD. Gamebreaking! Or upthrow shine waveland bair with fox! Brooooken. Not that that stuff's not cool, though.

Let me know about your final decision regarding our matches.

seriously guys don't get too excited about seeing this, i'm taking boback at his word and if so i'm not doing it in public. bobby we'll have to find a way to do this in private, but then it gets messy because i'm also not doing it without the side bets. we'll see.

diakonos: no recording. no exceptions. btw i'm veering away from falco and focusing on sheik/fox/falcon/marth so i'd rather mm u in fox dittos or marth v fox. (i'm referring to our second mm; no character restrictions in the first one!)

I don't mind the constraints, for 500-1000 dollars both players should be able to feel as comfortable as possible with most things to their liking. That's alot of money(to me) and it's really not about us. It's about Adam and Scar. Granted this kind of MM is good for the community and competitive atmosphere. It's not like Adam is pulling strings to make this happen, he's setting some real simple guidelines if the TO (JB) doesn't like it or enforce it then its off. MM are nice but I'd much rather have JB rig the bracket so Adam and Scar play first/second round. I just don;t enjoy watching matches where both players are not playing their best or distracted. I want to see the best Adam vs the best scar.
Suffice to say that sure there is an archetype for MM in smash but not a 500-1000 dollar one. Ultimatly I think this MM if it were to happen as an event at GSG2 the TO's need to enforce the stipulations/conditions for it to be successful,(vocal agreement etc) otherwise its going to happen in private. I am not going to go as far and say we are privileged to watch this MM, but we arn't entitled to.
