i don't want to place myself in a position where unhappy dudes like boback are in a position to disrespect me. i mean, he has nothing to lose. i have much to lose.

to me it's about the spirit of competition. it's not about showing someone up. it's a, hey, i think i'm better than you. i want to put money on myself. but bobby just wants to make it personal and i expunge negative people from my life, i don't enable them.

and maybe most importantly, i think i can accomplish more by just $20-$50 mming 20-50 people rather than 1.5k mming bobby.

you know, i think i have a better idea. i'll talk to jon (plank) about having a money match room or something @ p5. then i can $10-$20 mm every interested party. and i do mean EVERY interested party. and for interested parties that have a resume that speaks for itself (hbox) i can find a way to place odds on myself that everyone agrees with.

I don't see how one implies the other. I think Atlus' point was about the seeming inconsistency between your advice to Mango and your stipulation that your matches aren't recorded. It doesn't really have any bearing on the MM itself.

Believe it or not Adam, a large factor in why I have questioned your words is the fact that I (and I'm sure others feel this way) would prefer to be your friend/acquaintance, given the choice, because we do indeed have respect for you because you seem like a principled person that has goals and wants to self-actualize as well as contribute to others, but your behavior sometimes appears bizarrely schizophrenic in contrast to that, at least online. I also feel the need to point out that just because someone's personal circumstances might dispose them to criticizing us, that has absolutely no bearing on the validity of their criticisms; at best it can only explain why they would offer the criticism in the first place. They might be an a$$hole, but that doesn't mean they are wrong. We can't argue by creating a psychological profile of the person we disagree with and then attacking it.

I'm not putting you on blast for the sake of putting you on blast or because it makes me feel good about myself, I'm doing it because I have a genuine disagreement, and I feel it's rather disingenuous of you, not to mention intellectually lazy, to characterize it as just empty negativity. If you were just another douchebag, I would have said little or nothing, but I think friends should always be challenging one another, and be able to do so without fear of indignation or retribution.

Also, you frequently talk about how the internet is a prime method of communication, and yet somehow you think public forums are a place where you can't be up front and honest.
