Omgomgomg I finally gimped a Fox at 0% =D!!! I was getting sick of my dsmash trading with firefox xP Sheik is quite fun in doubles honestly...especially with a teammate who can apply tons of pressure on the other two and distract them while I do the dirty ;P

One problem, Sheik has made my Falcon pretty shoddy xD

also im sorry i didnt get to play ya nihonjin (ride situation got messed up and we had to bounce im sure we'll meet again though somewhere in life lol)

but hey think i will still prolly play this game for at least a little longer just feels good to know i still have room to grow in this game and **** to work on. plus i learned some stuff from the crazy amount of european sheiks at pound

shiek question- at certain % should you be up throwing fox/falco? This is for PAL

I tend to only do it once they can avoid having to tech. Tech chasing is too good, and the only thing I can do half decently. After that goes, Uthrow puts them in the worse position.

Apparently though, from around 45% onwards, a neutral DIed Uthrow on Fox combos into Utilt.

of course you have to play differently and change your style but you do that with peach or any other character

Hey everyone. A new sheik here. Actually not that new but I am to sheik boards lol. Anyway, I've been playing sheik as my main for a while in melee. I got all the basics down and all the ATs except for one thing that seems to give me a lot of trouble: the upb stall :/. I suck at it, any tips? Oh and I also have a bit of trouble with the fox matchup. I have trouble with falco too but less than fox ever since I learned how to powershield hiz lazors into **** and gimping him is mad easy.

To beat Fox? You have to tech chase him and make sure your spacing is really good. Mostly defensive stuff. Offensively, you can boost grab and dash attack into his dash dances. If he jumps a lot, do your own aerials or wait for him to come down and anti-air him with moves and **** him.

That's basically it.

I just wait for an opportunity to get a grab against fox and tech chase then throw him offstage and attempt a gimp. But fox is mad hard to grab :/. I mostly have trouble with his nair shine nair **** approaches and uthrow to upair. <I always DI the uthrow but I fail at SDI'ing the upair.

Any tips on how to do the real upb stall? I can do it sometimes but other times, I end up SD'ing because I didnt press up in time and fast fall needle charge instead.

sounds like you already know what you're doing wrong, so just practice!

Fox isn't hard to grab. Just gotta be smart about it. Yo so i was messing with up throw and at higher percents 110 or so if di in front of you it combos into f tilt. No di up tilt. Behind is nothing. But if you are by the ledge they have no where to land. Intresting indeed .

Amsah you're extremely technical. You can jump from the edge reverse needle cancel fair. xD For Sheiks I think that's as technical as we get lol.

For the up b stall, use up and down with the control stick... that's what helped me learn to do it really well. I used to do left/right then up and down... that's a lot easier to mess up/bust out the chain and sd. You should be able to get it consistently in like ten or so minutes.

Also vs Fox, make sure you're di'ing the uthrow behind the fox. A TONNNN of foxes miss the uair even at high level of play (I've seen M2k miss it plenty and he can uthrow uair jiggs near frame perfect it seems).

You can SDI the upair no matter how you DI the upthrow btw, its just easier to do it if you DI behind for some reason.

And I'm surprised most you guys are so surprised at Amsah's tech skill. When I saw Amsah play his big games I didn't see him do anything 'Crazy'. I could probably perform the things he did >_____>.

I was way more impressed by I dunno everything else, I mean its sheik. She only has so much useful tech skill

It was mostly the fact that it was someone other than m2k using a technically sound sheik. I can do all the things he did too - but in tourny I am not comfortable enough/sound enough to use them. Really it was the first sheik besides m2k doing it and getting far in bracket. IMO

sheik will never be able to look as technically pretty as fox falco or what have you. lack of advanced techniques. i think other than using the control stick for proper spacing while wavedashing, maybe reverse needle cancelled aerials (hot stuff soap), maybe the hardest technical think a sheik can do is shinostall. i would like to see the day when a sheik is praised for how well a shinostall is performed instead of *insert *****ing here*

I think the best thing Sheik can do is simple movement in terms of being flashy.

That and Dair.
