Rick, Eggman NEVER says that in Shadow the Hedgehog.
It's hinted that there's a slight possibility that he's a clone, or a pure robot from the Shadow army Eggman created.

However, at the end of the game, Shadow more or less says "**** it", and moves on.

Ever since the end of SA2, absolutely nothing has been said of Shadow. It's been hinted that he may be a clone, robot, or the original Shadow created by Gerald Robotnik using Black Doom's DNA, but it is NEVER resolved.

So any theory as to what the current Shadow is is plausible, since they never explained it, and because of Shadow the Hedgehog's final ending, it's most likely that we'll never get a complete explanation of it either.

Still, that makes for Sonic, Knuckles, Blaze, Robotnik, Eggman, Elise, and Shara to have all died in the Sonic Universe.

Honestly, I take it as a blessing that they didn't give shadow his own tails-esque side kick. He would have been even dumber.

Shadow is only emo for one game. In 2k6 he's normal again. There hasn't been what I consider a "main" entry in forever though. Then again Unleashed may have been more "main" seeing as I only played the ****ty wii version. It's sad that I require them to have 30 characters that suck *** to accept it as canon. :/

I wish it was just sonic tails knuckles and eggman. All 2D, with plot not being a major concern, always. That formula never failed them, but the proceeded to fail anyway lol.

So I actually put in Shadow the Hedgehog and re played the final mission. I you fight Black Doom for 9 1/2 minutes Eggman explains he saved the real Shadow with a robot after SA2, and that THAT is the real Shadow.

Wtf, I'm so pissed that I missed STORYLINE because I kicked his *** in like 3 minutes.
